Whether you're piloting a high-performance RC car UK-wide, upgrading an existing ready to run RC model, or building a custom RC setup, this 2S LiPo battery delivers the consistent power and dependable chemistry that serious hobbyists rely on. With its compact footprint measuring just 86 x 34 x 14 millimetres and featherlight 90-gram weight, this battery is purpose-built for installations where room is at a premium, making it an ideal choice for smaller scale RC vehicles, aerial platforms, or integrated battery bays.

Radient batteries are recognised throughout the RC hobby for their quality construction, reliable performance and excellent value. This particular unit combines proven LiPo chemistry with a moderate 30C discharge rating, making it suitable for a wide range of RC applications from casual weekend bashing to more demanding competitive use. The Deans (HCT) connector ensures compatibility with thousands of RC car UK models, ready to run RC kits and aftermarket electronics. Whether you're new to the RC hobby or a seasoned competitor, the Radient LiPo 2S battery represents a smart investment in reliable, cost-effective power.

At RC Model Shop, we stock genuine Radient batteries with full confidence in their quality and performance. This 2S LiPo configuration delivers 7.4 volts of nominal power, perfect for brushed and brushless motors in 1/10, 1/12 and 1/14 scale RC vehicles. The soft case construction protects your investment during transport and storage, whilst the clearly marked polarity connectors ensure safe, fool-proof installation every time.

Key Features

  • Compact dimensions of 86 x 34 x 14 millimetres — This battery is exceptionally small, allowing it to fit into tight spaces within your RC vehicle where larger batteries simply won't fit, making it perfect for scale models and space-conscious chassis designs.
  • Lightweight at just 90 grams — The minimal weight helps maintain optimal weight distribution in your RC car, preserving handling characteristics and reducing the strain on motor and drivetrain components.
  • 2S LiPo chemistry (7.4V nominal) — Two cells in series provide consistent 7.4-volt output, which is the standard power supply for countless brushed and brushless RC motors, making this battery universally compatible across most ready to run RC models.
  • 1600mAh capacity — The 1600 milliamp-hour capacity offers respectable runtime for a battery of this size, providing sufficient power for recreational driving sessions without the bulk of larger packs.
  • 30C continuous discharge rating — The 30C rating means this battery can safely deliver up to 48 amps of continuous current (1600mAh × 30C = 48A), making it suitable for mid-range performance motors and ESCs without thermal stress or voltage sag.
  • Deans (HCT) connector — The industry-standard Deans connector ensures broad compatibility with RC cars, trucks, buggies and other electric RC vehicles throughout the UK hobby market, with no adapter required for most applications.
  • Soft case protection — The protective soft case housing shields the cells from physical damage, accidental shorts and environmental debris whilst remaining flexible enough to fit snugly in compact battery compartments.
  • Age recommendation 14+ — This battery is recommended for users aged 14 and above, reflecting the need for responsible handling of lithium polymer chemistry and proper charging procedures.

Technical Performance

This Radient LiPo battery represents a well-engineered balance between performance, size and cost. The 2S configuration is the foundational voltage standard for countless electric RC vehicles, from entry-level ready to run RC cars to high-performance brushless systems. With a nominal voltage of 7.4V and 1600mAh capacity, the battery delivers 11.84 watt-hours of energy storage—sufficient for 15 to 25 minutes of continuous running depending on load, motor efficiency and driving style. The 30C discharge rating provides a maximum burst current of 48 amps, which is more than adequate for recreational and semi-competitive applications involving brushless motors in the 3000-5000KV range or brushed motors in the 10T to 27T range. Build quality is evidenced by the robust LiPo chemistry, which is renowned for high energy density, minimal self-discharge and stable voltage delivery throughout the discharge cycle. The Deans (HCT) connector is gold-plated for superior conductivity and corrosion resistance, ensuring reliable power transfer from battery to ESC with minimal voltage loss. The soft case construction utilises a flexible polyester fabric with internal cell protection, allowing the battery to conform to oddly-shaped battery bays whilst preventing external punctures or compression damage. Radient's manufacturing standards ensure consistent cell matching, balanced pack voltage and reliable performance across the entire product lifespan, making this battery a dependable choice for anyone seeking quality without premium pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What RC vehicles is this 2S LiPo battery compatible with? — This battery is compatible with any electric RC vehicle equipped with a 2S-capable ESC and a Deans connector, including 1/10 scale RC cars, 1/12 scale buggies, 1/14 scale trucks and many 1/8 scale models. Check your vehicle's manual or ESC specifications to confirm 2S compatibility before use.
  • Is the Radient 1600mAh battery suitable for beginners? — Yes, this battery is an excellent choice for beginners and intermediate users alike. The 30C rating provides enough power for casual recreational driving without the complexity or expense of higher-discharge alternatives, and the compact size makes it easy to handle and install. Always follow proper LiPo charging and storage procedures using a dedicated LiPo charger with balance charging capability.
  • How long does this battery last per charge? — Runtime typically ranges from 15 to 25 minutes of continuous driving, depending on your motor's efficiency, ESC settings, driving style and terrain. Heavier vehicles, higher power settings and aggressive acceleration will reduce runtime, whilst lighter vehicles and smooth driving will extend it.
  • What charger does this battery need? — This 2S LiPo battery requires a dedicated lithium polymer battery charger with 2-cell balance charging capability. A standard LiPo balance charger set to 2S mode will safely charge the battery at 1-2C rates (1600-3200mA). Never use chargers designed for NiMH or NiCd batteries, as they will damage LiPo cells and pose a fire risk.
  • Can I use this battery with my brushed motor RC car? — Absolutely. This 7.4V 2S battery is perfectly suited for brushed motor RC cars, providing the correct voltage and sufficient current for 15T, 18T, 27T and similar brushed motors. Always verify your ESC can handle 2S voltage and that your motor can accept the current output.
  • What is the difference between 30C and higher-rated batteries? — The C rating indicates maximum continuous discharge current—30C means this pack can safely deliver 48 amps continuously. Higher-rated batteries (50C, 75C, 100C) can deliver more current but are often larger, heavier and more expensive. For recreational use and moderate performance, 30C is more than sufficient; competitive racing or high-power brushless setups benefit from higher ratings.
  • How should I store this battery between uses? — Store your Radient LiPo battery in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, ideally at 50% charge state. Use a fire-safe LiPo storage bag for extra safety. Never store fully charged or fully discharged—partially charged storage prolongs cell lifespan and reduces self-discharge.
  • Is the Deans connector the same as XT60? — No, Deans and XT60 are different connectors with different electrical specifications. Deans connectors are smaller and lighter; XT60 connectors handle higher currents more safely. Check your RC vehicle's connector type before purchasing—you may need an adapter if transitioning between connector standards.
