Overview
The Radient Futaba Twisted HD Extension Lead with Clip 1000mm (RDNAC010239) is an essential servo extension cable for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand reliability and professional-grade performance. Whether you're running a large-scale RC car, truck, or multi-servo application, this heavy-duty extension lead delivers the signal integrity and power stability your model needs for smooth, responsive control. Designed specifically for Futaba-compatible servo systems, this twisted HD extension is the ideal choice for RC car UK builders and serious hobbyists who refuse to compromise on quality.
At 1000mm in length, this extension lead gives you the flexibility to route servo connections across larger RC models whilst maintaining excellent signal fidelity. The inclusion of a secure connector clip ensures your plugs remain firmly fastened even in high-vibration RC applications, preventing loose connections that could cause loss of control or servo malfunction. This is a genuine Radient product that meets the exacting standards expected by competitive and recreational RC pilots alike, making it equally suitable for beginners learning the basics of RC setup and experienced builders constructing complex multi-servo configurations.
The twisted cable design is far more than aesthetic—it aids tidy routing and meaningful signal integrity across your model's chassis, helping to minimise electromagnetic interference and keeping your RC car, truck, or crawler running at its best. This extension is a small but vital component that separates amateur setups from professionally-engineered RC installations. Available now at RC Model Shop with rapid UK shipping, this Futaba extension is ready to elevate your RC experience.
Key Features
- 1000mm Length Including Connectors — The full 1000mm measurement includes both male and female connectors, giving you straightforward installation planning without hidden surprises when mounting servos or components at distance from your receiver or flight controller.
- Male to Female Futaba Configuration — This extension uses the industry-standard Futaba connector type with black, white, and red wiring, making it universally compatible with Futaba-branded servos and any aftermarket servo systems built to Futaba specifications, which covers the vast majority of RC applications in the UK.
- Heavy-Duty 22AWG, 60-Strand Construction — The 22 American Wire Gauge conductor with 60 individual copper strands delivers excellent flexibility without sacrificing current-carrying capacity, ensuring reliable power and clean signal delivery to your servo regardless of demanding flight manoeuvres or off-road bashing.
- Included Connector Clip — This supplied locking clip securely holds the male and female connectors together, preventing accidental disconnection during high-vibration RC operations such as jumps, crashes, and aggressive cornering, which is critical for maintaining control of your RC model.
- Twisted Cable Layout — The helical twist pattern in the cable improves cable routing aesthetics whilst reducing electromagnetic interference and cross-talk between signal and power conductors, resulting in cleaner servo response and more predictable RC handling characteristics.
- Professional Signal Integrity — This extension is engineered with attention to signal quality, making it suitable for precision RC racing, aerial photography platforms, and applications where servo jitter or noise could compromise performance or safety.
Technical Performance
The Radient RDNAC010239 extension lead represents genuine engineering quality in servo cabling. The 22AWG, 60-strand copper conductor provides an optimal balance between flexibility and current capacity, allowing the cable to flex and route through tight spaces whilst delivering stable power to demanding servo motors without voltage sag. The outer diameter of 2mm ensures the cable fits standard servo connector channels and cable management systems, whilst the 1.5mm outer sheath protects the conductors from abrasion, UV exposure, and accidental damage during assembly and operation. The 1000mm total length (including connectors) is long enough to bridge significant distances between your RC receiver or flight controller and remote servo locations—ideal for tail servos on large-scale RC aeroplanes, rear-mounted servos on extended-wheelbase RC trucks, or multi-servo installations on complex crawlers and rock buggies. The heavy-duty construction means this extension will outlast many complete RC builds, making it a cost-effective choice for hobbyists who value durability and reliability. The connector clip mechanism uses a positive mechanical lock, ensuring your plugs remain seated under vibration and stress rather than relying on connector friction alone. This is the kind of attention to detail that separates professional-grade RC products from budget alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this extension lead compatible with all Futaba servos and RC receivers? — Yes, this extension uses the standard Futaba connector configuration with black (ground), white (signal), and red (power) wiring. It is compatible with all genuine Futaba servos and any aftermarket servo systems built to Futaba specifications, which covers the overwhelming majority of RC servo systems available in the UK. If your receiver and servo both use standard Futaba connectors, this extension will work perfectly.
- What length of extension lead do I need for my RC model? — At 1000mm total length (including connectors), this extension is ideal for larger RC models where servos are mounted remotely from the receiver, such as tail servos on large RC aeroplanes, rear brake/steering servos on extended RC trucks, or specialised crawlers with multi-servo setups. If you need a shorter extension, Radient and other manufacturers offer alternatives in shorter lengths; if you need longer reach, multiple extensions can be chained together using male-to-male connectors.
- Does the connector clip come included? — Yes, the connector clip is included with your purchase. This locking mechanism is essential for preventing accidental disconnection during high-vibration RC operations such as off-road bashing, aerial acrobatics, or competition racing where vibration levels are extreme.
- What is the difference between this Radient extension and cheaper alternatives? — The Radient Futaba Twisted HD Extension Lead uses genuine 22AWG, 60-strand copper construction rather than thinner or fewer-strand wire, which means lower resistance, better power delivery, and superior signal integrity. The twisted cable design reduces electromagnetic interference, and the included connector clip adds a layer of security that budget extensions typically omit. The result is more reliable servo operation, cleaner handling response, and a product that will serve you through multiple RC builds.
- Can I use this extension with my RC car, truck, or crawler? — Absolutely. This extension works with any RC model using Futaba-compatible servos, including RC cars (road and off-road), RC trucks, RC crawlers, RC bugies, RC trugies, and even small RC helicopters or fixed-wing aircraft. The 1000mm length is particularly useful on larger models or those with remote servo mounting.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, this extension is ideal for beginners. It is simple to use—simply plug the male connector into your receiver or flight controller's servo channel and the female connector into your servo. The included clip provides additional security if you are still learning proper servo installation techniques. The heavy-duty construction means you won't damage it through inexperience.
- What does the twisted cable design do? — The twisted pattern in the cable serves multiple purposes: it improves aesthetic cable routing by preventing the three conductors from splaying apart, it reduces electromagnetic interference and cross-talk between signal and power lines, and it helps the cable resist kinking during tight routing around your RC model's chassis. The result is cleaner servo response with less jitter or noise.
