Overview
The Radient Charge Lead, XT60 to EC3 Male adapter is an essential accessory for RC enthusiasts who operate equipment with different connector types. This compact 150mm cable bridges the gap between XT60 female connectors and EC3 male connectors, making it an ideal solution for maintaining a versatile and organised charging setup across multiple RC car UK models and battery systems. Whether you're running a brushless RC buggy, an electric RC truck, or any other RC hobby equipment, having the right charge lead ensures safe, efficient power transfer during your charging sessions.
Designed and manufactured to Radient's exacting standards, this charge lead is built for reliability and convenience. The compact 150mm length makes it easy to store, transport, and use in confined spaces, whilst the robust 14AWG copper wire ensures excellent conductivity and minimal voltage drop. If you're serious about maintaining your RC equipment in peak condition, a quality charge lead like this one is an indispensable part of your pit box setup. RC model enthusiasts across the UK rely on dedicated charging solutions to keep their equipment in perfect working order, and this Radient adapter delivers exactly that.
Whether you're a seasoned RC competitor preparing vehicles for race day, a weekend basher maintaining your fleet, or an RC hobbyist discovering the world of RC for the first time, having proper adapter cables ensures you can charge your batteries safely and efficiently no matter what connectors your equipment uses. The colour-coded insulation takes the guesswork out of polarity, allowing quick and confident connections every time you charge up.
Key Features
- XT60 to EC3 Male Conversion — This charge lead features an XT60 female connector on one end and an EC3 male connector on the other, allowing you to adapt between two of the most common connector types used in RC batteries and chargers. This versatility is invaluable when working with multiple battery systems or chargers that use different connection standards.
- 14AWG Copper Wire — The cable uses high-quality 14AWG copper conductor wire, which provides excellent electrical conductivity and minimises voltage drop during charging. This ensures efficient power transfer and helps protect your batteries from unnecessary stress during the charging cycle.
- Compact 150mm Length — At just 150mm (approximately 6 inches), this charge lead is compact enough to store easily in your toolbox, pit bag, or charging station without taking up excessive space. The shorter length also reduces the risk of accidental shorts and makes handling during charging sessions more convenient.
- Colour-Coded Insulation — The cable features black and red insulation, with red indicating the positive conductor and black indicating the negative, allowing you to verify correct polarity at a glance before connecting to your battery or charger.
- Radient Quality Standards — Manufactured to the high standards Radient is known for, this charge lead is finished professionally and built to last through countless charge cycles, making it a reliable addition to your RC charging arsenal.
Technical Performance
This Radient charge lead represents a straightforward but essential piece of RC charging infrastructure. The 14AWG copper wire gauge is specifically chosen to handle moderate charging currents safely whilst maintaining low resistance across the cable length. The XT60 connector type is one of the most widely used standards in the RC hobby, found on countless battery packs, chargers, and power distribution boards used across the UK RC market. The EC3 male connector interface is equally common, particularly in certain battery systems and legacy equipment. By combining these two popular standards in a single 150mm adapter, the Radient RDNAC010150 solves a common compatibility challenge faced by RC enthusiasts who operate multiple pieces of equipment from different manufacturers. The colour-coded insulation (black for negative, red for positive) eliminates confusion and reduces the risk of reverse-polarity connection, which could damage batteries or chargers. The compact cable length of 150mm provides a good balance between reach and manoeuvrability, allowing you to position the lead exactly where you need it without excess cable cluttering your charging station. Whether you're charging 2S, 3S, 4S, or higher-cell-count LiPo batteries, or working with NiMH battery systems, this universal adapter will serve as a reliable bridge between your battery and charger.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is this charge lead used for? — This cable is a charging adapter that converts between two different connector types. If your battery has an XT60 female connector but your charger has an EC3 male connector (or vice versa), this lead allows you to safely connect them together. It's an essential piece of equipment for RC enthusiasts who use batteries and chargers from different manufacturers or who maintain multiple RC vehicles with varying connector types.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. In fact, beginners will find this charge lead particularly useful because it simplifies the process of connecting batteries to chargers when dealing with mixed equipment. The colour-coded insulation (red for positive, black for negative) makes it immediately clear which wire is which, reducing the risk of dangerous mistakes. Any RC beginner in the UK who works with multiple battery types should have a few of these adapters in their pit box.
- What battery types can I use this with? — This charge lead works with any battery system that features XT60 and EC3 connectors. This includes LiPo batteries (2S, 3S, 4S, 6S and higher), LiFe batteries, NiMH battery packs, and any other chemistry compatible with these connector types. The 14AWG wire is suitable for moderate charge currents, making it ideal for hobby-grade RC equipment rather than high-current racing batteries.
- What makes this different from other charge leads? — The Radient RDNAC010150 combines several practical advantages: the 14AWG copper wire provides reliable conductivity, the 150mm length is genuinely portable and convenient, and the colour-coded insulation eliminates guesswork. Radient's manufacturing standards ensure consistent quality across all their products, so you know this adapter will deliver reliable service for years. Many RC hobbyists across the UK trust Radient accessories because of their attention to detail and durability.
- Will this work with my charger? — If your charger has an EC3 male port and your battery has an XT60 female connector, this lead will connect them together. However, you should verify your specific charger and battery connector types before purchasing to ensure compatibility. If you're unsure about your equipment's connectors, our team at RC Model Shop is happy to help you identify the correct adapter.
- How durable is this charge lead? — The 14AWG copper conductor is robust and will withstand repeated connection and disconnection cycles. The connectors are high-quality and designed to maintain a secure fit over thousands of uses. With proper care—avoiding sharp bends, keeping connectors clean, and storing in a dry location—this charge lead should last for many years of regular RC hobby use.
