Overview

The Radient EC3 Male (ESC End) (5 pcs) RDNAC010060 is an essential connector pack for RC hobbyists and enthusiasts who want to achieve professional, reliable power connections on their electronic speed controllers. Whether you are building a custom RC car, upgrading your RC truck, or maintaining your existing fleet of RC vehicles across the UK, these EC3 male connectors provide the perfect solution for neat and consistent ESC lead terminations. Designed around the industry-standard EC3 connector format, this five-piece pack offers excellent value and ensures you always have spares on hand for your RC projects.

EC3 connectors have become the go-to choice for serious RC hobbyists because they deliver secure, repeatable connections that minimise voltage drop and resist accidental disconnection during high-speed runs. The Radient brand is recognised throughout the RC community for producing quality connectors and accessories that meet the demands of both casual weekend bashers and competitive RC racers. With five male connectors supplied in each pack, you will have plenty of spares for replacing worn connectors, building new ESC harnesses, or setting up multiple RC vehicles with matched power system components.

Whether you are new to the hobby or an experienced RC enthusiast, having a reliable stock of EC3 male connectors is essential for keeping your RC equipment in top condition. These connectors are compatible with any RC speed controller equipped with EC3 female sockets, making them a versatile addition to any RC workshop or spares box.

Key Features

  • EC3 Male Connector Design — These connectors feature the proven EC3 male configuration, which is the standard format for countless ESC units used in RC cars, trucks, buggies and crawlers across the UK and beyond, ensuring wide compatibility with your existing RC power systems.
  • ESC End Termination — Specifically designed for the ESC (electronic speed controller) end of power leads, these connectors allow you to securely terminate controller outputs and create custom harnesses tailored to your exact RC setup requirements.
  • Five-Piece Pack — With five male connectors included in each pack, you have plenty of spares for multiple RC projects, replacements, or building an inventory of connector sets for different vehicles in your RC collection.
  • Practical Spare Parts Solution — EC3 connectors can wear out over time with repeated connection and disconnection cycles; having dedicated spares ensures you can quickly swap out damaged or worn connectors without interrupting your RC activities.
  • Quality Construction — Radient connectors are engineered for reliability and consistent electrical contact, helping to ensure stable power delivery and minimising the risk of mid-race connection failures.
  • Hobby-Grade Standard — These connectors are recognised throughout RC hobby communities as a dependable, cost-effective solution for maintaining and upgrading RC power system connections.

Technical Performance

The Radient EC3 Male (ESC End) connector pack represents solid engineering for hobbyist-grade RC applications. EC3 connectors are celebrated in the RC community for their robust design, which provides secure connections even during aggressive driving conditions typical of RC monster trucks, buggies, short course trucks and crawlers. The male connector configuration supplied in this pack is specifically designed for integration with female EC3 sockets on electronic speed controllers, ensuring proper polarity and alignment. The quality of the connector construction directly impacts the reliability of your RC power system; poor connections can result in voltage sag, performance loss, or unexpected disconnections during operation. Radient's manufacturing standards ensure that each connector in this five-piece pack meets the requirements of demanding RC hobbyists who depend on consistent electrical performance. The connectors are suitable for use across a wide range of RC applications, from casual weekend bashers to more serious RC enthusiasts building custom harnesses for their vehicles. Approximate shipping weight for this pack is 0.02 kg (0.04 lbs), reflecting the lightweight, compact nature of connector components. The pack is recommended for users aged 14 and above, as proper connector assembly and handling requires basic technical understanding and care to avoid short circuits or incorrect polarity.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is an EC3 connector and why do I need them for my RC car? — EC3 connectors are industry-standard power connectors used extensively in RC vehicles to connect the electronic speed controller (ESC) to the battery. The EC3 format provides a secure, repeatable connection that minimises voltage loss and prevents accidental disconnection during high-speed driving. If your RC car, truck, buggy or crawler is equipped with an ESC that has EC3 female sockets, you will need corresponding male connectors to establish the power connection. Over time, connectors can wear from repeated use, so having spare EC3 male connectors is essential for maintaining your RC hobby.
  • Are these EC3 connectors compatible with all RC vehicles? — EC3 connectors are compatible with any RC electronic speed controller that features EC3 female sockets. This includes a vast range of RC cars, trucks, buggies, crawlers and other vehicles used by UK RC hobbyists. However, you should verify that your ESC or power harness uses the EC3 standard before ordering. If your equipment uses XT60, T-connector, or other non-EC3 formats, you will need the appropriate matching connector type.
  • Why should I buy this five-piece pack instead of just one or two connectors? — Purchasing the five-piece pack offers exceptional value and ensures you have adequate spares on hand. EC3 connectors can deteriorate through repeated connection cycles, and having multiple replacements means you can quickly service your RC vehicles without waiting for additional orders. Many serious RC enthusiasts maintain several vehicles simultaneously, so having a stash of connector spares is a practical investment in your hobby. The pack also supports building multiple custom harnesses or setting up new RC vehicles with matched power system components.
  • What is the difference between EC3 male and female connectors? — EC3 male connectors feature protruding pins and are designed to insert into female sockets. In a typical RC power system, the male connector terminates the ESC output lead, whilst the female connector is housed within the battery balance connector or ESC housing. This pack supplies male connectors for the ESC end of the harness, meaning they will plug into female EC3 sockets on your battery or other components.
  • Can I use these connectors to build my own custom battery harnesses? — Yes, EC3 male connectors can be used to build custom power harnesses, provided you have basic soldering skills and understand proper polarity and safety procedures. Soldering connectors requires heat-shrink tubing, a soldering iron, and solder suitable for electrical applications. Always ensure correct polarity and insulate exposed connections to prevent short circuits. If you are uncertain about building harnesses, many UK RC shops, including RC Model Shop, can assist with custom harness construction.
  • What age group are these connectors suitable for? — Radient EC3 Male connectors are recommended for users aged 14 and above. Proper handling of electrical connectors and understanding of polarity and circuit protection is important for safe use. Younger users should work under adult supervision when handling RC electrical components.
  • How do I know if my EC3 connectors are wearing out? — Signs of connector wear include loose connections, intermittent power loss during driving, visible damage to the connector pins or sockets, or discolouration from heat or arcing. If you experience connection issues or suspect connector degradation, replacing them with fresh connectors like this five-piece pack is a quick and cost-effective fix that can restore reliable power delivery to your RC vehicle.
