Overview

The Radient XT90 Anti Spark Pairs (5 pcs) represent an essential component for anyone serious about RC power connections. Whether you're building custom RC power leads, upgrading your RC car battery systems, or maintaining existing XT90-equipped RC batteries and chargers, these connector pairs deliver reliable performance and professional-grade construction. XT90 connectors have become the gold standard in RC applications across the UK and beyond, favoured by hobbyists who demand secure, low-resistance connections that minimise voltage drop during high-current discharge cycles. This set of five pairs, supplied by the trusted manufacturer Radient under part number RDNAC010045, gives you multiple options for assembling or refurbishing XT90 power leads in your RC collection.

These connector pairs come complete with heat shrink tubing, allowing you to finish your connections neatly and securely without needing to source additional materials separately. The combination of quality connectors and included heat shrink makes this an excellent value proposition for RC enthusiasts aged 14 and upwards who are building or maintaining their own power systems. Whether you're a weekend basher looking to upgrade your RC monster truck connectors, a competitive racer fine-tuning your RC buggy's power delivery, or a hobbyist expanding your RC battery collection with multiple XT90 charge leads and adapters, these pairs provide the flexibility and reliability you need.

RC hobbyists across the UK understand that connector quality directly impacts reliability and safety in their RC vehicles. Poor-quality connectors can lead to intermittent power loss, excessive heat generation, and potential damage to expensive RC electronics. The Radient XT90 Anti Spark design specifically addresses these concerns by incorporating anti-spark technology that reduces arcing during connection and disconnection—a critical feature that protects your RC equipment and extends the lifespan of your batteries and electronics.

Key Features

  • XT90 Connector Design — The XT90 standard is recognised worldwide as the preferred connector for high-current RC power applications, offering superior contact surface area and lower resistance than smaller connector types, which means more efficient power delivery to your RC motor and fewer energy losses as heat.
  • Anti-Spark Technology — The anti-spark design minimises arcing when connecting and disconnecting battery connectors, which protects delicate RC electronics from voltage spikes and reduces the risk of damage to your ESC, motor, and battery management systems during hot-disconnect scenarios.
  • Five Pairs Included — This set gives you five complete connector pairs, providing excellent value and allowing you to create multiple XT90 power leads, adapters, or replacement sets for your RC collection without purchasing multiple individual packs.
  • Heat Shrink Included — Each pair comes with matching heat shrink tubing, enabling you to create professional-looking, waterproof connections that protect your solder joints and prevent accidental short circuits caused by exposed wires touching each other or conductive RC chassis components.
  • Suitable for Multiple RC Applications — These connector pairs are compatible with XT90-equipped RC batteries, RC charge leads, adapter cables, and any RC power system requiring XT90 terminations, from small brushless RC cars to larger RC vehicles requiring high current draw.
  • Age-Appropriate Design — Recommended for RC hobbyists aged 14 and upwards, these connectors require basic soldering skills to assemble, making them suitable for intermediate to advanced RC enthusiasts who maintain their own equipment and custom-build their power systems.

Technical Performance

The Radient XT90 Anti Spark Pairs represent engineered excellence in RC connector technology. XT90 connectors are engineered to handle the high-current demands of modern brushless RC systems, with contact surfaces designed to maintain low electrical resistance even under sustained high-amperage discharge—critical for RC applications where peak currents can exceed 100 amps in competitive racing scenarios or high-performance RC vehicles. The anti-spark design incorporates mechanical features that prevent premature arcing during connection and disconnection, protecting your RC electronics from the voltage transients that can damage sensitive components like brushless ESCs and telemetry receivers. The connectors are manufactured to tight tolerances to ensure consistent mating across all five pairs in this set, meaning your XT90 leads will connect and disconnect smoothly without excessive friction or looseness over repeated cycles. The included heat shrink tubing provides additional protection, creating a seal that guards against corrosion, dust infiltration, and accidental short circuits—particularly important in RC applications where vehicles may encounter wet conditions, dirt, or salt spray. The compact, lightweight design ensures that these connectors add minimal weight to your RC power system while maintaining the structural integrity and electrical performance you demand from professional-grade RC components.

What's in the Box

  • 5 x XT90 connector pairs (male and female)
  • Heat shrink tubing for finishing connections

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are XT90 connectors and why are they better than other RC power connectors? — XT90 connectors have become the industry standard for high-current RC applications because they offer superior contact surface area compared to smaller connectors like T-plugs or Deans connectors, resulting in lower electrical resistance, reduced voltage drop, and less heat generation during power delivery. This means your RC motor receives more of the available battery voltage, translating to better performance and efficiency in your RC vehicle. The larger physical design also makes them easier to handle and solder, reducing the risk of connection errors.
  • What does anti-spark technology mean, and why does it matter for my RC system? — Anti-spark technology uses mechanical design features to prevent electrical arcing (sparking) when you connect or disconnect the battery from your RC electronics. Arcing can damage your RC ESC, create voltage spikes that destroy sensitive components, and shorten battery life. By minimising arcing, anti-spark connectors protect your entire RC electrical system and make battery swaps safer and more reliable.
  • Will I need soldering equipment to use these connectors? — Yes, these XT90 connector pairs require basic soldering skills to attach to your battery leads and power cables. You'll need a soldering iron, solder suitable for electrical applications, and ideally some flux to ensure good solder joints. If you're new to soldering RC connectors, we recommend watching instructional videos or asking experienced RC enthusiasts for guidance to ensure your connections are solid and safe.
  • Are these connectors compatible with my RC battery? — These XT90 connector pairs are compatible with any XT90-equipped RC battery, RC charger lead, or RC power adapter. If your battery currently uses a different connector type like Deans, T-plug, or XT60, you would need to either replace the battery connector or create an adapter using these pairs. Many RC hobbyists in the UK prefer upgrading to XT90 for their entire fleet because of the superior performance and safety characteristics.
  • How many connector pairs do I actually need? — The number of pairs you need depends on your RC setup. You'll want one pair for each power lead you're building or one pair if you're creating an adapter between two different connector types. This set of five pairs gives you flexibility to build multiple leads, create adapters, or keep spares on hand—ideal for RC enthusiasts maintaining multiple RC vehicles or creating redundant charging systems.
  • Can I use these for high-amperage RC applications like competitive racing? — Absolutely. XT90 connectors are designed specifically for high-current applications and are the preferred choice for competitive RC racing where sustained currents of 80-150+ amps are common. The anti-spark design is particularly valuable in racing scenarios where equipment reliability and performance consistency are paramount.
  • What's the difference between XT90 and XT90-S (anti-spark) connectors? — These Radient pairs feature anti-spark technology built into the connector design, which is the XT90-S specification. The anti-spark feature adds mechanical components that prevent arcing during connection and disconnection, making them safer and more protective of your RC electronics compared to standard XT90 connectors without anti-spark capability.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — These connectors are recommended for RC enthusiasts aged 14 and upwards with basic soldering experience. If you're completely new to RC and haven't soldered connectors before, you might consider purchasing pre-assembled XT90 leads initially, then progressing to these pairs once you've developed soldering skills and connector experience with simpler projects.
