Technical Performance
The Radient XT90 Male with Cap End connectors represent a practical engineering solution for RC hobbyists who need reliable power connections. These connectors are designed with precision tolerances to ensure tight, secure connections that resist accidental disconnection during RC vehicle operation. The male end (ESC End) configuration means these connectors are designed to insert into female sockets, making them ideal for connection points on your Electronic Speed Controller. The XT90 standard has become the de facto choice for many RC applications in the UK due to its superior contact surface area compared to older connector standards, which translates to lower resistance and better power delivery to your RC motor system. Whether you're building a brushless RC car, upgrading your RC truck's electrical system, or simply maintaining a collection of RC vehicles, these connectors provide the electrical integrity needed for reliable performance. The pack includes protective caps, which help prevent accidental short circuits during storage and transport of your RC components. The engineering behind these connectors ensures they work seamlessly with both battery management systems and ESC units from reputable manufacturers in the RC hobby sector.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is an XT90 connector and why would I need it for my RC hobby? — XT90 connectors are standardised power connectors widely used in RC applications across the UK. You need them to connect your battery to your ESC (Electronic Speed Controller), which in turn powers your RC vehicle's motor system. These connectors are preferred because they offer a larger contact surface area than older alternatives, which means better electrical contact, lower resistance, and improved power delivery to your RC car, buggy, truck or other vehicle. Having spare connectors is essential because they sometimes wear out, get damaged, or you may want to change your RC vehicle's configuration.
- Is this pack suitable for beginners just getting into RC hobbies? — Yes, absolutely. The XT90 connector is the industry standard for modern RC vehicles in the UK, and at 14 years old and above, beginners can safely use these components. However, we recommend that younger users or complete beginners seek guidance from experienced RC hobbyists or staff at your local RC shop when first connecting power systems. The connectors themselves are straightforward to use once you understand basic polarity (plus and minus).
- How many XT90 male connectors do I need? — This depends on how many RC vehicles you own and whether you have backup batteries for each vehicle. As a general rule, most RC enthusiasts keep at least one male connector spare per vehicle, plus several extras for maintenance and repairs. A five-piece pack like this RDNAC010044 is ideal if you have 2-3 RC vehicles or if you want to stock spares. Many serious RC hobbyists keep multiple packs on hand.
- Will these connectors work with my current RC battery and ESC? — If your RC battery has an XT90 female connector and your ESC is designed for XT90 male connectors, then yes, these will work perfectly. The XT90 standard is used by most modern RC batteries and ESCs from leading UK and international RC manufacturers. If you're unsure whether your equipment uses XT90 connectors, check your battery and ESC documentation or compare the connector shape and size to the XT90 standard.
- What's the difference between XT90 male and female connectors? — Male connectors have protruding pins that insert into female connectors, which have receptacles to receive those pins. In RC applications, male XT90 connectors are typically used on the ESC end (the speed controller), whilst female connectors are typically found on batteries. You need both types to complete a power connection, so when building new RC systems, you'll usually need to source both male and female connectors.
- Can I use these connectors with any battery type? — XT90 connectors are compatible with lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries, lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries, and nickel-based batteries. However, the connectors themselves are just the connection mechanism; you still need to ensure your battery voltage and capacity matches your RC vehicle's ESC and motor requirements. For example, if your ESC is rated for 3S LiPo (11.1V), use a 3S battery. If it's rated for 4S LiPo (14.8V), use a 4S battery.
