Overview

The Radient XT60 Male connectors with integrated heat shrink are essential components for RC enthusiasts building or maintaining electric-powered RC models. Whether you're setting up a new RC car, RC plane, or RC helicopter in the UK, reliable battery connectors are crucial for safe, efficient power delivery from your LiPo or NiMH battery pack to your electronic speed controller (ESC). This pack contains five male XT60 connectors, each pre-fitted with heat shrink tubing sized specifically for ESC applications, making them the ideal choice for anyone upgrading their electrical connections or replacing damaged connectors.

XT60 connectors have become an industry standard across competitive and recreational RC enthusiast circles worldwide, recognised for their robust design and excellent current-carrying capacity. Unlike smaller bullet connectors, the XT60 provides a secure, polarised connection that prevents accidental reverse polarity while offering superior contact reliability. The inclusion of pre-applied heat shrink means these connectors arrive ready to solder directly into your ESC harness without additional preparation, saving you time during build or repair work. Whether you're a seasoned RC competitor running a high-performance brushless RC truck or a hobbyist maintaining your collection of RC vehicles, these Radient connectors deliver professional-grade quality at competitive pricing.

As a trusted UK RC retailer, RC Model Shop stocks genuine Radient connectors that meet strict quality standards. These XT60 male connectors are designed to work seamlessly with battery packs featuring female XT60 connectors, creating a secure, low-resistance connection that maximises power transfer efficiency and minimises heat generation during high-drain applications. The heat shrink tubing protects the soldered joints from moisture and accidental short circuits, extending the lifespan of your electrical connections and improving overall safety during RC operation.

Key Features

  • XT60 Male Connectors — The XT60 is the industry standard for high-current applications in modern RC vehicles, offering superior contact surface area and current capacity compared to smaller bullet connectors, making it ideal for brushless motors, LiPo batteries, and high-performance ESC units.
  • Pre-Applied Heat Shrink Tubing — Each connector arrives with heat shrink already fitted and sized for ESC applications, eliminating the need to source separate heat shrink materials and ensuring professional-looking, protected solder joints that resist moisture and environmental contamination.
  • ESC-Specific Design — These connectors are optimally configured for electronic speed controller applications, with the male end designed to mate securely with female battery connectors, ensuring reliable power delivery and preventing accidental polarity reversal.
  • Pack of Five Units — This multi-pack offering provides excellent value for RC enthusiasts who maintain multiple vehicles or need spares for future projects, repairs, or experimental electrical configurations.
  • Genuine Radient Manufacturing — Manufactured by Radient, a recognised brand within the RC hobby community, these connectors meet consistent quality standards and deliver reliable performance across diverse RC applications from RC aircraft to RC cars and RC boats.
  • Easy Solder Integration — The connectors are designed for straightforward soldering directly into ESC harnesses using standard soldering equipment, making installation accessible to hobbyists with basic electronics skills.

Technical Performance

The XT60 connector represents a significant engineering advancement in RC electrical systems, designed specifically to handle the high current demands of modern brushless motor systems and lithium polymer (LiPo) battery packs used throughout the RC car, RC plane, and RC truck communities. The connector features large-diameter contact pins manufactured to exacting tolerances, ensuring minimal electrical resistance and maximum current-carrying capacity without excessive heat generation. These Radient XT60 male connectors are engineered to work in conjunction with female XT60 battery connectors, creating a fully polarised system that prevents dangerous reverse-polarity connections which could damage your ESC or motor. The pre-applied heat shrink tubing serves critical protective functions: it mechanically reinforces the solder joint, provides electrical insulation against accidental short circuits, and protects the connection from moisture ingress and corrosive environmental conditions. Whether powering a 3S, 4S, or 6S LiPo battery system, the XT60 connector maintains consistent low-resistance performance, essential for competitive racing, high-speed bashing, or precision flight operations. The male configuration supplied in this pack is specifically optimised for ESC integration, where the connector interfaces directly with battery harnesses. Each unit has been manufactured to maintain tight tolerances that ensure secure mechanical engagement, preventing loosening or intermittent connection issues that plague lower-quality alternatives. The quality of materials and construction directly impacts the reliability of your entire RC power system, from motor RPM stability to runtime performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between XT60 male and female connectors, and which do I need? — Male and female XT60 connectors are reverse images of each other. The male connector (supplied in this pack) features protruding pins and is typically soldered directly to your ESC harness. The female connector features recessed sockets and is typically attached to your battery pack. They mate together to form a complete circuit. You need both to create a functional battery-to-ESC connection, so if your ESC requires male connectors, your battery must have female connectors.
  • Can I use XT60 connectors with my LiPo battery? — Yes, XT60 connectors are widely used with LiPo batteries in the RC hobby. In fact, XT60 is one of the most popular connector standards for LiPo-powered RC vehicles in the UK and worldwide. Simply ensure your battery pack features female XT60 connectors, or source a compatible female XT60 connector pack to retrofit your existing battery.
  • Why do these connectors come with heat shrink already applied? — Pre-applied heat shrink offers several advantages: it saves preparation time, ensures proper sizing for ESC applications, provides professional appearance and protection to your solder joints, and reduces the risk of heat shrink slippage during the heating process. Once you've soldered the connector to your ESC harness, you simply apply heat to seal the tubing permanently.
  • How do I solder these connectors safely and correctly? — Strip approximately 5-6mm of insulation from your ESC battery lead wires. Using a hot soldering iron (approximately 350-400°C), apply a small amount of solder to the connector pin to tin it, then position the stripped wire and apply heat until the solder flows smoothly around the joint. Use minimal solder to avoid creating large blobs that could cause short circuits. Once cooled, apply heat to the pre-fitted heat shrink tubing using a heat gun or soldering iron to seal the joint and protect it from moisture.
  • Are these XT60 connectors suitable for high-current applications like brushless motors? — Yes, absolutely. XT60 connectors are specifically designed for high-current applications and are the standard connector type for brushless RC vehicles. The large contact surface area and quality construction of Radient connectors ensure reliable performance even under heavy current draw from powerful brushless motor systems.
  • What is the current rating of XT60 connectors? — XT60 connectors are generally rated for continuous currents up to 60 amps and burst currents significantly higher, making them suitable for nearly all recreational and competitive RC applications including fast 4WD RC buggies, RC stadium trucks, and RC off-road vehicles.
  • Can I use these male connectors with different connector types? — XT60 connectors are specifically designed to mate with other XT60 connectors. Using adapters to connect XT60 to other connector types (such as EC3, EC5, Deans, or Traxxas connectors) is possible but not recommended for permanent installations due to increased electrical resistance and potential safety concerns. Always use matching male-female XT60 pairs when possible.
  • How many XT60 connectors do I need for my RC vehicle? — Most RC vehicles require one pair of connectors (one male, one female) per battery circuit. This pack of five male connectors provides spare capacity for multiple vehicle builds, repairs, or future projects. If you're building several RC cars or aircraft, this multi-pack represents excellent value.
