Technical Performance

The Radient RDNAC010016 charge lead represents a straightforward but essential piece of RC electrical infrastructure. Constructed using 18AWG wire, this gauge specification is widely recognised in the RC community as the sweet spot for charging leads, offering excellent current-carrying capacity without sacrificing flexibility or ease of handling. The wire is terminated at one end with a 4mm bullet connector—the industry standard for charger outputs across numerous battery chargers, power supplies, and bench charging systems—and at the opposite end with a Mini Deans male connector specifically configured for ESC integration. This ESC-end configuration is crucial, as it allows direct connection to electronic speed controllers without requiring intermediate adapters. The 150mm length has been precisely engineered to minimise unnecessary cable whilst providing adequate reach for realistic RC workshop setups where chargers and vehicles may be positioned at varying distances from each other. The solid construction ensures reliable electrical contact and power transmission, critical for safe battery charging operations. Whether you're charging LiPo batteries, NiMh packs, or other RC power sources through your ESC's charging port, this lead provides the dependable performance that serious RC competitors and hobbyists depend on. The compact design makes it equally suitable for fixed workshop installations and portable pit boxes used during racing events and RC gatherings throughout the UK.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What chargers is the Radient 4mm Bullet to Mini Deans charge lead compatible with? — This charge lead is compatible with any charger or charging equipment featuring standard 4mm bullet connector outputs. This includes most hobby-grade battery chargers available in the UK, from basic plug-in models to advanced programmable chargers used in competition RC racing. If your charger has red and black 4mm bullet connectors, this lead will work with it.
  • Can I use this charge lead to connect my battery directly to my RC car? — No, this charge lead is specifically designed for charging operations only, not for powering your RC vehicle. It bridges the connection between your charger's 4mm bullet outputs and your ESC's Mini Deans charging port. Never use charging leads as discharge leads during vehicle operation, as this creates safety hazards.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — This product is recommended for users aged 14 and older and is most suitable for those who already understand basic RC electrical systems and safety protocols. Complete beginners to RC may benefit from consulting experienced enthusiasts or manufacturer guidance before handling charging equipment and adapters.
  • What is the difference between Mini Deans and standard Deans connectors? — Mini Deans connectors are a smaller, more compact variant of the traditional Dean connector. They offer the same reliable performance and current-carrying capability but in a reduced footprint, making them increasingly popular in modern RC ESCs and battery packs where space is at a premium. The Radient RDNAC010016 specifically uses the Mini Deans configuration, making it ideal for contemporary RC equipment.
  • Will this charge lead work with my brushless RC car? — If your brushless RC car uses an ESC equipped with a Mini Deans male charging port and your charger features 4mm bullet outputs, then yes, this charge lead is the perfect solution. It's commonly used in brushless RC racing setups throughout the UK and is suitable for all brushless systems using this connector combination.
  • Is the 150mm length sufficient for my charging setup? — The 150mm length is specifically engineered for ESC-end connections and provides adequate reach for most standard RC charging scenarios. This length minimises unnecessary cable bulk whilst remaining long enough to comfortably reach from a nearby charger to your vehicle's ESC. If you require significantly longer leads for unusual workspace configurations, you may need to consider custom solutions.
