Overview
The Traxxas Medium Shock Springs (Natural Finish) (GTX) 3.445 Rate (Tan Stripe) represent a premium suspension tuning solution for serious RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision performance from their RC cars. These genuine Traxxas GTX shock springs are engineered to deliver consistent, predictable suspension behaviour that transforms how your XRT handles challenging terrain and high-speed runs. Whether you're a competitive racer fine-tuning your setup for track dominance or a weekend basher looking to optimise your vehicle's handling characteristics, these medium-rate springs offer the perfect balance between ride comfort and responsive handling that serious RC car enthusiasts demand.
Traxxas has built a reputation for manufacturing suspension components that work seamlessly with their high-performance RC vehicles, and these GTX shock springs exemplify that commitment to quality. The natural finish construction ensures durability whilst the carefully calibrated 3.445 spring rate provides the ideal stiffness for a wide range of driving conditions. Unlike generic aftermarket springs, these genuine Traxxas components are precision-engineered to match the exact specifications of your XRT, ensuring compatibility and reliable performance every single time you take your RC car out to the track or trail.
These shock springs come as a pair and are colour-coded with a distinctive tan stripe for easy identification and organisation in your RC spare parts collection. The medium length design integrates perfectly with the XRT's suspension geometry, maintaining the vehicle's handling balance whilst allowing you to fine-tune your setup based on track conditions, driving style, or vehicle weight configuration. If you're serious about getting the best performance from your Traxxas RC car in the UK, upgrading or replacing your shock springs with genuine Traxxas GTX components is one of the most effective and cost-efficient modifications you can make.
Key Features
- Genuine Traxxas GTX Shock Springs — These are authentic Traxxas suspension components, not third-party copies, ensuring they meet the exact engineering specifications required for perfect compatibility and reliable long-term performance with your XRT.
- 3.445 Spring Rate — The precisely calibrated 3.445-rate spring constant provides an ideal medium stiffness that suits a broad range of driving conditions, track layouts, and vehicle configurations, making these springs versatile for both racing and recreational driving.
- Medium Length Design — Purpose-engineered to match the suspension geometry of the XRT platform, the medium length ensures optimal suspension travel and maintains the vehicle's handling characteristics without compromising ground clearance or articulation.
- Available in Different Spring Rates — Traxxas offers multiple spring rate options so you can tune your XRT's suspension performance to suit your specific needs, whether you're running a lighter vehicle configuration or need extra support for heavier setups.
- Tan Stripe Colour Code — The distinctive tan stripe provides clear visual identification of the spring rate, helping you quickly identify which springs are installed and making it easy to organise your spare suspension components.
- Natural Finish Construction — The natural finish coating protects against corrosion whilst maintaining a clean, professional appearance that looks great on any serious RC setup.
- One Pair Included — You receive two springs in this package, the correct quantity needed to replace both front and rear shock springs on your Traxxas XRT, ensuring matched suspension performance across the entire vehicle.

Technical Performance
The engineering behind Traxxas GTX shock springs demonstrates why Traxxas remains one of the most trusted manufacturers of RC cars and suspension components in the world. The 3.445 spring rate represents a carefully engineered compromise between progressive handling response and comfort, allowing your XRT to maintain traction over rough terrain whilst delivering the crisp, responsive steering inputs that competitive drivers demand. The medium length design has been specifically calculated to work with the XRT's suspension kinematics, maintaining proper shock compression ratios and ensuring predictable handling across the entire range of vehicle travel. The natural finish coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, essential for RC cars that encounter moisture, salt spray, or challenging outdoor conditions typical in the UK climate. These springs are manufactured to incredibly tight tolerances to ensure that paired springs deliver identical performance characteristics, eliminating any handling inconsistencies that might result from unmatched suspension rates. The GTX designation indicates these are premium-grade suspension components, representing the pinnacle of Traxxas shock spring engineering and reliability standards. Whether you're replacing worn springs after months of intensive use, upgrading your original equipment, or simply fine-tuning your suspension for a specific track layout or weather condition, genuine Traxxas springs guarantee the precise, predictable performance that serious RC enthusiasts depend on.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What Traxxas XRT models are these shock springs compatible with? — These medium GTX shock springs are designed as accessory parts specifically for the Traxxas XRT family of vehicles. They are compatible with the Traxxas XRT Ultimate in green and blue X editions, as well as the Traxxas XRT VXL-8S model available in blue, orange, green, and black colour options. Before purchasing, confirm your XRT model matches one of these compatible variants.
- What do the different spring rate numbers mean? — The spring rate number indicates the stiffness of the spring; the higher the number, the firmer and stiffer the spring. These 3.445-rate springs are classified as medium stiffness, providing a balanced compromise between comfort and responsive handling. If you need a softer ride, choose a lower spring rate; if you need firmer support (perhaps for a heavier vehicle configuration), upgrade to a higher spring rate.
- How do I know if I need to replace my shock springs? — Springs gradually lose their stiffness over time through repeated compression cycles. If your RC car feels like it's sagging, the suspension doesn't return to full height as quickly, or the handling feels less responsive than when new, it's likely time to replace your shock springs. These genuine Traxxas springs will restore your XRT's suspension performance to like-new condition.
- Can I mix different spring rates on my vehicle? — Mixing spring rates between front and rear is sometimes done for specific tuning purposes, but it's generally not recommended unless you have specific track experience and understand suspension geometry. For consistent, predictable handling, use matching spring rates front and rear.
- Are these springs suitable for both racing and casual bashing? — Yes, the 3.445-rate medium springs are versatile enough for both competitive racing and recreational weekend bashing. The balanced stiffness provides good traction for racing whilst maintaining enough compliance for rough terrain bashers.
- What is the difference between these GTX springs and other Traxxas shock springs? — Traxxas manufactures different spring rates and designs optimised for different vehicle weights and driving styles. The GTX designation indicates these are premium-grade suspension components. This particular 3.445-rate medium stiffness suits a wide range of conditions, whilst softer rates provide more compliance and stiffer rates offer more support and responsiveness.
