Overview

The Traxxas Camber links and toe links set (TRX7636) represents essential suspension tuning components for RC enthusiasts looking to maximise the handling performance of their Traxxas models. These precision-engineered suspension links are critical components in the front axle assembly, allowing drivers to fine-tune camber and toe-in angles for optimal tyre contact and cornering grip. Whether you're an experienced RC racer fine-tuning your machine for competitive performance or an RC hobbyist in the UK seeking to improve your vehicle's trail-conquering ability, these suspension adjustment parts are invaluable additions to your upgrade toolkit.

Suspension geometry adjustments have a dramatic impact on how an RC car or truck handles over varied terrain. The camber angle (the tilt of the wheel relative to vertical) and toe-in angle (the direction the wheels point relative to the centreline) directly influence tyre wear, grip levels, and overall vehicle stability. By upgrading to quality Traxxas suspension links, you gain the ability to dial in these critical angles precisely, unlocking better performance whether you're navigating rocky trails, technical obstacles, or high-speed terrain courses. These components are manufactured to Traxxas' exacting engineering standards, ensuring compatibility and reliability across their range of 1/10 scale and larger RC vehicles.

The TRX7636 set comprises four camber links and two toe links, providing everything needed for a complete front-end geometry refresh. Installation is straightforward with basic RC hobby tools, making this an accessible upgrade for RC car enthusiasts of all experience levels. As part of your suspension tuning strategy, these links work in conjunction with your existing shocks, anti-roll bars, and suspension arms to create a precisely-tuned platform that responds predictably to driver inputs and terrain conditions.

Key Features

  • Four Camber Links Included — The complete set includes four camber links that allow you to adjust the wheel camber angle on the front axle, enabling you to optimise tyre contact patches for maximum grip during cornering and obstacle navigation.
  • Two Toe Links Included — Two toe links are provided to fine-tune the toe-in angle, which controls whether your front wheels point slightly inward or outward relative to the vehicle's centreline, affecting steering response and tyre wear characteristics.
  • Precision Engineering — Manufactured by Traxxas using their proven suspension design principles, these links maintain tight tolerances and durability standards that ensure consistent performance across multiple driving sessions and terrain types.
  • Easy Installation — The links connect directly to existing suspension components using standard hardware, requiring only basic metric hex drivers and hobby tools for straightforward installation without complex modifications.
  • Compatibility Assured — These suspension links are engineered specifically for Traxxas models, guaranteeing fitment and performance when used as directed in the installation guides.
  • Performance Enhancement — By adjusting suspension geometry, you can reduce understeer or oversteer tendencies, extend tyre lifespan, and improve overall vehicle handling responsiveness across different driving conditions.
  • Essential Maintenance Part — Suspension links experience wear over time and repeated use, making periodic replacement an important part of keeping your RC vehicle performing at its best.

Technical Performance

The Traxxas suspension link system represents a fundamental aspect of RC vehicle geometry tuning that separates casual RC driving from optimised performance. Camber angle adjustment is particularly important when running aggressive S1-compound tyres on trail trucks or crawlers, where maximum tyre contact with the ground translates directly to increased traction and obstacle-climbing ability. The inclusion of toe-link adjustment capability means you're not limited to factory geometry settings — you can dial in the exact steering characteristics your driving style demands. When combined with other suspension upgrades such as chromoly driveshafts, aluminium portal housings, and upgraded GTS shocks, these links become part of a comprehensive suspension tuning package that transforms vehicle handling. The links work in concert with your existing anti-roll bars and shock absorbers to create a suspension platform tuned for your preferred driving conditions, whether that's rocky terrain, sandy trails, or competitive course layouts. For RC enthusiasts in the UK and beyond, the ability to make these geometry adjustments represents the difference between a good-handling vehicle and a truly exceptional one. Using quality Traxxas components ensures that your suspension geometry adjustments remain stable and consistent session after session, without the sloppiness or wear that might occur with inferior replacement parts.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What exactly do camber links and toe links do on an RC car? — Camber links allow you to adjust the angle at which your front wheels tilt relative to vertical (camber angle), while toe links control the direction your wheels point relative to the vehicle's centreline (toe-in angle). Both adjustments dramatically affect how your RC vehicle grips, handles corners, and distributes tyre wear. Getting these angles right means better performance whether you're climbing obstacles or racing on technical courses.
  • Why would I need to upgrade my suspension links? — Original suspension links may wear over time, or you might want to change your vehicle's geometry to suit different driving conditions or your personal driving style. These Traxxas components allow you to make precise adjustments, optimising your truck's handling characteristics. Many serious RC enthusiasts upgrade as part of a comprehensive suspension tuning package to unlock better traction and responsiveness.
  • Are these links compatible with all Traxxas models? — The TRX7636 is engineered for specific Traxxas models. Always verify compatibility with your specific vehicle before purchase. Traxxas provides detailed compatibility information in their installation guides, and our team at RC Model Shop can confirm fitment for your particular model.
  • Do I need special tools to install these suspension links? — Installation requires only basic metric hex drivers, which are typically included with your original RC vehicle or available in an inexpensive RC hobby tool set. The installation procedure is straightforward and can be completed by most RC enthusiasts at home using standard hobby workbench setups.
  • How often should I replace my suspension links? — Regular inspection during routine maintenance is recommended. If you notice excessive play, cracks, or bent links during handling checks, replacement is necessary. For competitive users or those doing multiple session runs, periodic replacement as part of preventative maintenance helps maintain consistent performance.
  • Can I adjust my suspension geometry without these parts? — Many Traxxas vehicles come with stock geometry settings, but to make fine adjustments to camber and toe angles, you need to be able to change the link lengths. These components are essential if you want to optimise your vehicle's handling beyond factory specifications.
