Overview
The Traxxas Suspension arms, Front or Rear (2 pcs) TRX7630 are essential replacement or upgrade components designed for Traxxas RC models, providing crucial suspension geometry and control. These suspension arms are fundamental to the performance of your RC crawler or trail truck, connecting the chassis to the wheel hubs and allowing vertical suspension movement whilst maintaining precise steering geometry. Whether you're restoring a damaged suspension, upgrading to aftermarket aluminium components, or simply maintaining your RC truck after intensive off-road running, these suspension arms are critical parts that directly impact handling, stability, and obstacle-clearing ability.
As a dedicated RC car enthusiast in the UK, you'll appreciate that quality suspension components are the foundation of any high-performing RC crawler or trail vehicle. The TRX7630 suspension arms maintain the factory geometry specifications that Traxxas has engineered into their vehicles, ensuring predictable handling characteristics and reliable performance whether you're running mild trail routes or conquering extreme rocky terrain. These arms work in conjunction with other suspension components like shocks, springs, and anti-roll bars to absorb impacts, maintain wheel contact with the ground, and allow the vehicle's chassis to articulate smoothly over uneven surfaces.
Traxxas suspension components are recognised across the UK RC community for their durability and precision engineering. The TRX7630 suspension arms come as a pair, allowing you to replace both sides simultaneously or upgrade specific axle positions depending on your setup requirements. Whether you're building the ultimate trail-conquering machine or simply maintaining your existing ready to run RC truck, having quality replacement suspension arms on hand ensures you can keep your vehicle running at peak performance without extended downtime.
Key Features
- Paired suspension arms — The package includes two suspension arms, allowing you to upgrade or replace the complete suspension geometry on either the front or rear axle, ensuring balanced handling and predictable performance on every terrain.
- OEM-specification design — These arms maintain exact factory geometry and mounting points, guaranteeing compatibility with your Traxxas model and preserving the engineered suspension characteristics that make Traxxas vehicles renowned for their trail-conquering ability.
- Critical articulation component — Suspension arms are the direct link between your chassis and wheel hubs, allowing the suspension to compress and extend whilst the wheels remain planted on the ground, maintaining traction through rocky, uneven terrain.
- Durable construction — Built to withstand the demanding forces of off-road RC action, these arms are engineered to resist cracking, bending, and flex that can occur during extreme trail runs, rock crawling, and obstacle attacks.
- Direct steering geometry influence — The suspension arms work with your vehicle's caster, camber, and toe geometry to control how the wheels track during acceleration, braking, and cornering, directly affecting steering response and stability.
- Essential maintenance part — After intensive off-road running, suspension arms can bend or crack from repeated impacts, and having replacement arms ensures minimal downtime when damage occurs during challenging terrain.
Technical Performance
The Traxxas Suspension arms TRX7630 are precision-engineered components that form the backbone of your RC vehicle's suspension system. In the context of complete suspension setups, these arms work in harmony with other critical components to deliver the exceptional trail performance that Traxxas vehicles are known for throughout the UK RC community. The Ultimate TRX-6 build documentation demonstrates how suspension arms interact with other upgraded components: when paired with chromoly driveshafts, overdrive gearing, aluminium portal housings, and advanced shock absorbers, suspension geometry becomes increasingly important for managing the vehicle's weight distribution and terrain interaction. The arms maintain precise angles that influence caster (the forward/backward tilt of the wheel axis), which affects straight-line stability and self-correcting steering response. Proper suspension arm geometry also manages camber (the inward/outward tilt of the wheel) to keep the tyre contact patch optimised during cornering and articulation. The specific mounting points and arm length on the TRX7630 are designed to work with Traxxas' portal axle system, allowing maximum suspension travel whilst preventing binding or geometry changes that would cause poor handling. When used with GTS shocks (available in standard or hard-anodised PTFE-coated versions) and progressive spring rates, these suspension arms enable smooth chassis articulation over rocks, logs, and steep slopes whilst maintaining responsive steering control. The engineering behind suspension arm design becomes evident when considering weight transfer during climbing and descent — the geometry directly influences how forces distribute through the chassis and to the ground, affecting whether your RC crawler maintains traction or breaks loose.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Traxxas models are compatible with the TRX7630 suspension arms? — The TRX7630 suspension arms are designed for specific Traxxas models in their trail truck and crawler line. Verify your model number against Traxxas' compatibility documentation before ordering, as suspension geometry varies significantly between different vehicle platforms.
- Can I use these suspension arms on both front and rear axles? — Yes, the TRX7630 suspension arms are suitable for either front or rear axle installation, depending on which axle requires replacement or upgrade. However, ensure you're purchasing the correct number of pairs needed for your intended installation.
- How often should I replace my suspension arms? — Suspension arms typically require replacement when they become bent, cracked, or show visible damage from impacts. Heavy trail running and rock crawling can accelerate wear, so regular inspection after intense off-road sessions is recommended. Quality arms like the TRX7630 are engineered for durability but will eventually need replacement depending on usage intensity.
- What other suspension components do I need to upgrade alongside these arms? — The Traxxas Ultimate TRX-6 build documentation shows that to achieve peak suspension performance, you should consider upgrading shocks, springs, and potentially adding aluminium portal housings. However, replacement suspension arms alone will restore your vehicle to factory performance specifications.
- Are suspension arms difficult to install? — Installation requires basic tools including metric hex drivers and nut drivers. The recommended 8712 7-Piece Metric Hex and Nut Driver Essentials Set includes all necessary hex bits for working on Traxxas models. The process involves removing fasteners, sliding out old arms, and installing new ones in their place — straightforward for anyone with RC maintenance experience.
- Do I need to apply thread-lock when installing new suspension arms? — Traxxas recommends applying thread-lock compound when screws thread into metal components. Many Traxxas components come with thread-locking compound already applied to fasteners, but it's good practice to add a drop of blue thread-lock when installing suspension arms to prevent vibration from loosening fasteners during trail running.
