Overview

The Traxxas Spring, Shock, White (GTR Long) (0.767 rate Black) (1 pair) TRX7444 represents a premium suspension upgrade for serious RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand competition-grade performance and durability. These GTR long springs are engineered to work in perfect harmony with Traxxas GTR hard-anodised aluminium shocks, delivering the smooth damping and responsive handling that separates winning setups from standard builds. Whether you're a weekend basher pushing your RC car to its limits or a competitive racer fine-tuning every aspect of your suspension geometry, these springs offer the precision and reliability that Traxxas is recognised for globally.

Part of Traxxas' ultimate suspension package, these GTR long springs are specifically designed for vehicles like the Hoss 4X4 VXL and other compatible 4WD RC models. The 0.767 spring rate provides balanced suspension compliance suitable for varied terrain, offering nearly the same springing and damping characteristics as stock setups whilst providing the benefits of upgrade-quality components. If you're looking to maximise your RC car UK performance without completely changing your vehicle's handling characteristics, these springs deliver exceptional value and proven reliability in the field.

These springs come colour-coded in black to indicate their 0.767 spring rate, making it easy to identify and match them with compatible Traxxas shocks and suspension systems. The white finish adds aesthetic appeal whilst the engineering inside ensures consistent performance session after session, in all weather conditions the UK climate can throw at your RC setup.

Key Features

  • GTR Long Length Design — These springs are specifically engineered for GTR long shocks, ensuring perfect fitment and optimal suspension geometry with no modifications required to your RC car.
  • 0.767 Spring Rate (Black Colour-Coded) — The spring rate indicates how much the spring compresses under a given weight; this moderate rate is ideal for general off-road driving and provides a good balance between comfort and responsive handling without sacrificing ground clearance on rough terrain.
  • Screw-Mounted Spring Perches — The GTR shocks utilise screw-mounted spring perches rather than friction-fit designs, meaning these springs stay precisely positioned no matter how hard you drive, jumps or crash impacts.
  • Sold as a Matched Pair — You receive one pair (two springs) in this package, providing the left and right springs needed for balanced suspension setup across your RC vehicle's front or rear axle.
  • Compatible with Premium GTR Shock Systems — These springs work with Traxxas' competition-grade GTR shocks featuring PTFE-coated bores and titanium-nitride coated shock shafts, creating a premium suspension system when combined.
  • Engineering Excellence — Springs are manufactured to exacting Traxxas specifications ensuring consistency batch to batch, critical for competitive racing where suspension reliability directly impacts lap times.
  • White Finish Option — The white colour provides visual appeal and makes these springs easily distinguishable from other spring rates when managing multiple suspension setups for different terrains and conditions.

Technical Performance

The 0.767 spring rate represents a mid-range stiffness that provides an excellent foundation for general RC off-road driving. In engineering terms, spring rate refers to the force in pounds required to compress a spring by one inch; higher numbers indicate stiffer springs that compress less under the same weight. At 0.767 rate, these GTR long springs offer nearly equivalent performance to the Hoss 4X4 VXL's stock springing setup, making them an ideal upgrade path when transitioning to premium GTR shock systems. These springs are engineered to work specifically with the 13 millimetre bore GTR shocks, which hold 70 percent more oil than standard 10 millimetre bore Ultra Shocks. This larger oil capacity ensures more consistent damping throughout longer driving sessions and extends the interval between shock service requirements. The springs' construction materials and manufacturing tolerances ensure consistent compression characteristics across the entire range of suspension travel, critical for maintaining predictable handling during competitive driving. When paired with GTR long shocks, these springs create a comprehensive suspension upgrade that significantly improves bump absorption and jump landing characteristics compared to stock composite shock systems. For drivers prioritising aggressive terrain and sky-high jumping, Traxxas offers stiffer spring options up to 0.892 front rate and 1.004 rear rate, but the 0.767 rate springs provide the ideal starting point for most UK RC drivers exploring the GTR suspension platform. The black colour coding ensures easy identification and prevents accidentally mixing different spring rates in your vehicle, a critical consideration when managing multiple RC cars or setting up left and right sides to identical specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What vehicles are compatible with Traxxas GTR long springs TRX7444? — These springs are compatible with Traxxas vehicles that support GTR long shocks, including the Hoss 4X4 VXL and Rustler Ultimate VXL 4x4 models. GTR shocks are sold without springs included, so you must purchase compatible springs separately. Always verify your specific RC car model supports GTR shocks before purchasing these springs.
  • What is the difference between 0.767, 0.874 and 0.892 spring rates? — Spring rate indicates stiffness; higher numbers mean stiffer springs that compress less under the same weight. The 0.767 rate (black coded) provides moderate stiffness suitable for general off-road driving. The 0.874 rate provides increased stiffness for more demanding terrain, whilst 0.892 and 1.004 rates are for extremely aggressive driving and high-flying jumping. Choose 0.767 for balanced handling or upgrade to stiffer rates if you consistently bottom out your suspension.
  • Do I need to purchase shocks separately? — Yes, GTR springs are sold separately from GTR shocks. You must purchase compatible GTR long shocks (7461X) to use these GTR long springs. Traxxas designs this system to allow suspension customisation, where you can match different spring rates to your driving style and terrain without replacing the entire shock assembly.
  • What makes GTR shocks and springs better than standard suspension? — GTR shocks feature hard-anodised aluminium construction with PTFE-coated bores and titanium-nitride coated shafts for nearly frictionless action. Their 13 millimetre bore holds 70 percent more oil than standard 10 millimetre shocks, delivering more consistent damping and longer oil life. Combined with these premium springs, you gain superior bump and jump absorption, more predictable handling, and durability advantages especially noticeable during extended driving sessions or competitive racing.
  • Can I use these springs on the front and rear of my RC car? — GTR long springs are designed for specific applications; front suspension typically uses 0.767 rate springs whilst rear suspension uses 0.874 rate springs for the Hoss 4X4 VXL build. Always consult your vehicle's setup guide to determine correct spring placement and rates for balanced handling.
  • What does the white colour mean? — The white finish is purely aesthetic. Spring rate is indicated by the black colour code printed on the spring, which identifies this as a 0.767 rate spring. The white body colour provides visual appeal and makes these springs easy to distinguish from other colours when managing multiple suspension setups.
  • How often should I service springs used with GTR shocks? — Springs themselves require no routine service. However, GTR shocks with their larger 13 millimetre bore can run longer between oil changes compared to standard shocks because the stress on the oil is distributed across a larger volume. Follow Traxxas' shock maintenance guidelines for your specific vehicle.
  • Are these springs suitable for beginners? — These springs are suitable for any RC driver willing to invest in premium suspension, including beginners. However, beginners typically start with stock suspension and progress to GTR upgrades as their driving skills and tuning knowledge develop. The 0.767 rate provides predictable handling that doesn't require advanced setup knowledge to use effectively.
