Overview

The Traxxas Spring, shock (nickel finish) (GTR) (2.77 rate, Pink) (1 pair) TRX7244A is an essential replacement and upgrade component for RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand precision handling and superior suspension performance. Whether you're a competitive racer fine-tuning your ready to run RC car UK setup or a weekend basher looking to improve your vehicle's ride quality, these genuine Traxxas shock springs deliver the performance upgrade you need. The nickel finish not only provides excellent corrosion resistance for durability in all weather conditions, but also gives these springs a professional appearance that complements any RC setup.

These shock springs are specifically engineered for the Traxxas GTR platform, one of the most popular and respected RC chassis designs available to hobbyists across the United Kingdom. The 2.77 rate specification means these springs offer a medium stiffness level that balances aggressive performance with predictable handling characteristics, making them ideal for both track racing and bashing applications. The distinctive pink colour provides easy identification in your spare parts collection whilst maintaining the authentic Traxxas quality you expect from the world's leading RC manufacturer.

As a pair, these shock springs give you everything needed to refresh both rear suspension points on your vehicle, ensuring consistent and matching performance across your entire setup. For RC car UK buyers seeking genuine Traxxas components that will genuinely enhance their vehicle's suspension performance, this is the exact replacement you should be choosing.

Key Features

  • Genuine Traxxas Manufacturing — These are authentic Traxxas-manufactured components, not aftermarket alternatives, guaranteeing compatibility, reliability and performance that meets Traxxas' rigorous engineering standards for all their RC vehicles.
  • 2.77 Spring Rate — This specific spring rate provides an optimal balance between responsiveness and stability, allowing your GTR platform vehicle to handle bumps and jumps effectively whilst maintaining predictable steering input and cornering grip.
  • Nickel Finish — The nickel plating provides superior corrosion resistance compared to raw steel springs, protecting your components against rust and degradation even when used in wet British weather conditions or damp environments.
  • GTR Platform Compatibility — Purpose-engineered for the Traxxas GTR chassis, these springs integrate seamlessly with your existing suspension geometry and mounting points without modification or adaptation.
  • Pink Colour Identification — The distinctive pink finish makes these springs instantly recognisable in your spare parts box, helping you quickly identify the correct component when servicing or upgrading your RC setup.
  • Pair Quantity — Supplied as a matched pair, these springs ensure consistent performance on both rear shock absorbers, eliminating the risk of uneven suspension and handling problems caused by mismatched spring rates.

Technical Performance

The Traxxas Spring, shock (nickel finish) (GTR) (2.77 rate, Pink) (1 pair) represents precision engineering specifically tailored for the demanding requirements of modern RC racing and recreational driving. The 2.77 spring rate sits in the medium range of the Traxxas spring spectrum, offering versatility across multiple driving conditions and chassis setups. This rate is particularly effective for GTR platform vehicles that require balanced suspension response without sacrificing either comfort or precision. The nickel finish isn't merely cosmetic—it provides a protective layer against oxidation and corrosion, ensuring these springs maintain their structural integrity and consistent performance characteristics even after extended use in demanding conditions. The engineering behind these springs incorporates Traxxas' decades of motorsport experience, meaning the metal composition, hardness, and elasticity are precisely calibrated to deliver predictable and repeatable handling dynamics. Whether you're pushing your RC car to the limit on a challenging UK circuit or enjoying recreational bashing sessions, these shock springs maintain consistent performance lap after lap. The exact specifications of the spring wire diameter, free length, and coil pitch have been engineered to work harmoniously with the GTR platform's geometry, damper characteristics, and weight distribution, ensuring that when you install these springs, your suspension delivers the responsive yet stable handling that makes driving truly enjoyable.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What vehicles are these Traxxas shock springs compatible with? — These springs are specifically designed for the Traxxas GTR platform. GTR is Traxxas' popular ground transmission racing chassis, so compatibility is limited to this specific vehicle lineup. Always verify your exact vehicle model before ordering to ensure fitment.
  • What does the 2.77 spring rate mean? — The 2.77 rating indicates the stiffness of the spring—essentially how much force is required to compress it by a specific distance. A 2.77 rate is considered medium stiffness, providing a good balance between responsiveness and bump absorption for most driving styles and conditions. Softer springs (lower numbers) offer more comfort, whilst stiffer springs (higher numbers) provide sharper handling.
  • Why is the nickel finish important? — The nickel finish serves two critical purposes: it prevents rust and corrosion by protecting the steel underneath, and it looks professional. In the UK's damp climate, this protection is especially valuable for maintaining your component's longevity and performance.
  • How often should I replace my shock springs? — Shock springs typically last thousands of kilometres or hours of use. You should consider replacement if you notice your vehicle sitting lower than normal, if handling becomes unpredictable, or if springs show visible damage. Regular inspection during maintenance will help you identify when replacement is needed.
  • Can I mix different spring rates on my vehicle? — Whilst technically possible, mixing different spring rates will create handling imbalances, as one end of your vehicle will respond differently from the other. For optimal performance, always use matching springs front and rear, or pairs rated identically.
  • What's the difference between these and plastic or composite springs? — Genuine Traxxas steel shock springs like these offer superior durability, consistent performance, and longevity compared to alternative materials. Steel maintains its elasticity through thousands of cycles without permanent deformation, ensuring reliable handling throughout the spring's lifespan.
