Overview

The Traxxas Suspension Arms (Lower) TRX5132R are essential replacement or upgrade components designed specifically for the Traxxas Maxx series of RC vehicles. These suspension arms form a critical part of your RC model's chassis geometry and handling characteristics, making them ideal for enthusiasts who demand precision engineering and reliable performance from their radio controlled cars and trucks. Whether you're a seasoned RC basher looking to maintain peak performance or upgrading your suspension setup for improved handling on UK terrain, these lower suspension arms deliver the quality and durability Traxxas is recognised for across the globe.

As a pack of two arms, this replacement set ensures you have complete coverage for both sides of your vehicle's front or rear suspension, depending on your Maxx model variant. The suspension arms work in conjunction with other components to manage wheel geometry, maintain proper steering response, and absorb impacts from rough ground and obstacles. For RC enthusiasts in the UK who regularly push their models across challenging terrain, maintaining quality suspension components is essential for consistent performance and longevity of your investment.

These genuine Traxxas parts are engineered to exact specifications and manufactured to the same standards as original equipment, ensuring perfect fitment and compatibility with all Maxx series models. When you choose authentic Traxxas suspension arms, you're choosing proven performance engineering that thousands of RC car enthusiasts across the UK trust for both recreational bashing and competitive racing applications.

Key Features

  • Designed for Maxx Series Compatibility — These suspension arms are specifically engineered to fit all Maxx series RC vehicles, ensuring perfect compatibility regardless of which Maxx model you own, from entry-level bashers to high-performance variants.
  • Lower Suspension Arm Configuration — The lower positioning of these arms means they work in tandem with upper arms to establish the suspension geometry that controls camber, caster, and toe-in angles for optimal handling and traction.
  • Pair Pack Contents — Each package contains two suspension arms, providing complete coverage for both sides of your vehicle's suspension system, whether for front or rear axle applications depending on your Maxx configuration.
  • Genuine Traxxas Engineering — Manufactured by Traxxas using the same precision tooling and quality control standards as the original factory arms, guaranteeing proper fitment and reliable performance on every run.
  • Essential Maintenance Component — Suspension arms experience constant stress during driving, making them consumable parts that benefit from periodic replacement to maintain consistent handling and prevent geometry drift caused by wear or damage.
  • Durable Construction — Built to withstand the demands of RC driving, these arms are engineered to resist the impacts and stresses common in off-road RC terrain across the UK, from dusty trails to muddy ground.

Technical Performance

The Traxxas Suspension Arms (Lower) TRX5132R represent critical chassis components that directly influence your RC model's handling characteristics and suspension response. These arms establish the connection points between the wheel hub and the main chassis, creating the geometric angles that determine how your vehicle responds to steering input and terrain contact. The lower arms work in concert with upper arms to form a four-link suspension geometry on most Maxx configurations, allowing the suspension to articulate and absorb impacts while maintaining wheel alignment throughout the suspension travel. Proper suspension arm geometry is particularly important for UK RC enthusiasts who drive across varied terrain types, from tarmac-like surfaces to rocky grounds and muddy trails. The engineering of these arms influences critical performance parameters including scrub radius (which affects steering feel), camber change (which impacts cornering grip), and suspension compliance (which determines how well the vehicle absorbs impacts). When suspension arms wear or become damaged through normal use or collisions, they can cause geometry changes that result in unpredictable handling, increased tyre wear, and reduced traction. Traxxas manufactures these arms from appropriate materials selected to provide the strength needed to handle the forces generated during acceleration, braking, cornering, and impact events. The connection points are precisely dimensioned to ensure correct alignment with other suspension components, and the overall design reflects years of development and testing by Traxxas engineers to deliver optimal performance across the full range of Maxx series vehicles.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are the Traxxas suspension arms genuine OEM parts or aftermarket replacements? — These are genuine Traxxas original equipment suspension arms manufactured to the same exact specifications and quality standards as the arms supplied with new Maxx models. You can trust that you're getting authentic parts engineered specifically for your vehicle.
  • Will these lower suspension arms fit all Maxx series models? — Yes, Traxxas designed these suspension arms to provide universal fitment across all Maxx series variants, making them a versatile replacement option regardless of which specific Maxx model you own or plan to upgrade.
  • Why would I need replacement suspension arms? — During normal use, suspension arms can wear out, develop cracks from impacts, or become bent through collisions with terrain obstacles. Additionally, many RC enthusiasts replace suspension arms as part of routine maintenance or when upgrading their vehicles with enhanced performance setups.
  • How difficult is it to replace lower suspension arms on a Maxx? — Suspension arm replacement is a relatively straightforward maintenance task that requires basic metric tools and typically takes 20-30 minutes per side. The Traxxas instruction manual provides clear guidance, and the task is accessible to most RC car owners in the UK, though previous mechanical experience is helpful.
  • Should I replace both upper and lower arms at the same time? — Whilst not strictly necessary, many experienced RC enthusiasts recommend replacing both upper and lower arms together when major suspension work is needed, as this ensures matched wear and consistent geometry across the complete suspension system.
  • What tools do I need to install these suspension arms? — You'll need metric hex drivers and nut drivers, which are typically included with your Maxx model. Traxxas offers the 8712 7-Piece Metric Hex and Nut Driver Essentials Set as a recommended upgrade that makes suspension work more convenient and efficient.
  • Are these parts compatible with suspension upgrades like portal housings or overdrive gears? — Yes, these lower suspension arms are compatible with optional Traxxas upgrades. Many Maxx owners combine suspension arm replacements with other performance modifications like aluminium portal housings, chromoly driveshafts, and overdrive gearing for comprehensive suspension system enhancements.
