Overview

The Traxxas Battery Charge Indicators (TRX2943) are essential accessories for any serious RC enthusiast in the UK who wants to keep their LiPo and NiMH batteries in perfect working condition. Whether you're running a high-performance brushless RC car, a ready to run RC truck, or any other electric RC vehicle, these colour-coded charge indicators provide instant visual feedback on your battery's state of charge. Available in three distinct colours — green, blue, and grey — with four pieces of each colour included in the pack, these indicators are indispensable tools for managing your RC battery fleet and ensuring optimal performance every time you take your model out to play.

Battery management is crucial for extending the lifespan of your expensive LiPo and NiMH batteries and maintaining consistent power delivery to your RC vehicle. The Traxxas Battery Charge Indicators work by using colour-coded LEDs that light up in response to the battery voltage, immediately showing you whether your battery is fully charged, partially charged, or needs recharging. This simple but effective system means you can quickly assess battery health without needing complex testing equipment or connections to a charger. For weekend bashers, competition racers, and hobby enthusiasts alike, having multiple colour-coded indicators allows you to manage several batteries simultaneously and ensure you always have charged packs ready for your next session.

These indicators are manufactured by Traxxas, a world-leading brand in electric RC technology, ensuring quality and reliability that RC model shop customers can depend on. The colour-coded system makes it easy to organise your battery collection and track charge levels at a glance, making these indicators an affordable yet invaluable addition to any RC enthusiast's toolkit.

Technical Performance

The Traxxas Battery Charge Indicators represent an intelligent solution to one of the most common challenges facing RC hobbyists: accurate battery charge management. Using colour-coded LED technology, these indicators provide immediate visual feedback on battery voltage without requiring any external testing equipment or charger connection. The system is engineered to work seamlessly with the full range of modern RC batteries, including both lithium polymer (LiPo) and nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) chemistry batteries that power contemporary electric RC vehicles. The colour-coded display system — with green indicating full charge, blue indicating partial charge, and grey indicating low charge — provides intuitive at-a-glance information that even beginners can understand instantly. This engineering approach prioritises simplicity and reliability over complexity, making these indicators perfect for RC enthusiasts of all skill levels, from complete beginners discovering their first ready to run RC car through to experienced racers managing multiple high-performance brushless RC vehicles. The compact physical design means these indicators add minimal weight and bulk to your RC kit, whilst the twelve-piece pack ensures you have sufficient indicators for managing a substantial battery fleet across multiple RC vehicles or battery types.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do the colour-coded battery indicators work on RC batteries? — The Traxxas Battery Charge Indicators use colour-coded LED technology to provide visual feedback on your battery's charge state. When you connect the indicator to your battery, the LED lights up in the corresponding colour to show whether your battery is fully charged (green), partially charged (blue), or requires recharging (grey). This eliminates the need for complex testing equipment and gives you instant information about battery health, making them perfect for RC car UK enthusiasts who want quick, reliable charge status checks before heading out for a session.
  • Are these indicators suitable for beginners new to RC hobbies? — Yes, these battery charge indicators are excellent for RC beginners. They require no complex setup or configuration — simply connect them to your battery connector and the colour-coded LED display immediately shows you the charge status. This makes them ideal for anyone just discovering the world of ready to run RC vehicles who wants to learn proper battery management practices without needing expensive testing equipment or chargers with advanced features.
  • What types of batteries do these indicators work with? — These Traxxas Battery Charge Indicators are compatible with both LiPo (lithium polymer) and NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) batteries, which are the two most common battery types used in modern electric RC vehicles. Whether you're running a brushless RC car, a hobby-grade RC truck, or any other electric RC model, these indicators will provide accurate charge status information for your battery packs.
  • Why should I get twelve indicators when I might only need one or two? — The twelve-piece pack with four indicators in each colour provides exceptional value and flexibility. If you're an active RC enthusiast with multiple vehicles or several battery packs, you can colour-code different batteries for quick identification. For example, you might use green indicators for racing batteries, blue for spare packs, and grey for older batteries. This organisation system saves time and prevents accidental use of incompletely charged batteries during important sessions or competitions.
  • Can I use these indicators to test battery health over time? — Whilst these indicators are primarily designed to show current charge status rather than perform detailed battery diagnostics, regular use will help you track your battery's performance characteristics. If a battery consistently fails to reach full charge (green indicator) despite being connected to your charger, it may indicate declining battery health and the need for replacement.
  • How do I know which colour means what charge level? — The colour system is intuitive: green indicates a fully charged battery, blue indicates a battery with partial charge remaining, and grey indicates a battery that needs recharging. This simple colour-coding means you can assess your battery status instantly without needing to remember complex codes or numbering systems.
