Overview

The Traxxas Driveshaft, Centre, 6061-T6 aluminium (Blue-anodised) TRX6755 is an essential replacement and upgrade component for RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand reliability and performance from their radio-controlled vehicles. This precision-engineered centre driveshaft is specifically designed for Traxxas Stampede 4X4 models, but understanding its construction and benefits will help any RC car UK owner appreciate why quality drivetrain components matter. Whether you're a weekend basher pushing your RC model to the limit, a competitive racer seeking maximum efficiency, or an RC hobbyist who enjoys maintaining and upgrading their vehicles, this driveshaft represents genuine Traxxas engineering excellence.

Built from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminium, this centre driveshaft combines exceptional strength with a lightweight design that won't compromise your vehicle's performance. The vivid blue-anodised finish isn't just for aesthetics—it's a protective coating that resists corrosion and wear, ensuring your investment remains in pristine condition through countless hours of driving. The laser-etched Traxxas logo adds a touch of professional style that serious RC car enthusiasts appreciate. This is the kind of component that separates carefully maintained, high-performing RC vehicles from those that suffer premature wear and inconsistent handling.

If you're upgrading from an older composite driveshaft or replacing a worn centre driveshaft, this genuine Traxxas part ensures you're maintaining the exact specifications your RC vehicle was engineered to use. The internal splines are precision-machined to eliminate play and deliver direct power transfer, which translates to smoother acceleration, more predictable handling, and improved overall driving experience whether you're racing on a track or bashing through off-road terrain.

Key Features

  • 6061-T6 Aluminium Construction — This premium aerospace-grade aluminium alloy is chosen for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, meaning the driveshaft is robust enough to handle the demands of high-performance RC driving whilst remaining lightweight enough to not negatively impact your vehicle's acceleration and efficiency.
  • Blue-Anodised Finish — The anodisation process creates a hard, protective oxide layer on the aluminium surface that resists corrosion, scratches, and the wear that comes from regular use, ensuring your driveshaft looks great and performs reliably for years of RC driving.
  • Laser-Etched Traxxas Logo — Beyond aesthetics, the laser-etched branding demonstrates Traxxas's commitment to quality and authenticity, and it's a hallmark of genuine Traxxas components that serious RC car UK enthusiasts recognise and trust.
  • Precision Internal Splines — The internal splines are engineered to fit directly onto the input shafts of the front and rear drive assemblies with zero play, which means maximum power transfer efficiency, reduced vibration, and more consistent handling characteristics during acceleration and deceleration.
  • Eliminate Driveline Play — By providing a tight, accurate fit with no play between the driveshaft and the drive assembly input shafts, this component ensures that every ounce of power from your motor is transmitted directly to the wheels, eliminating the dead spot in acceleration that comes from loose drivetrain components.
  • Direct Fit for Stampede 4X4 — This driveshaft is specifically engineered for the Traxxas Stampede 4X4 platform, ensuring perfect compatibility and optimal performance in your vehicle's drivetrain system.
  • Genuine Traxxas Component — As an official Traxxas spare part, you can be confident that this driveshaft meets the exact specifications and quality standards that Traxxas designed into your RC vehicle, maintaining authenticity and reliability.

Technical Performance

The centre driveshaft is a critical component in your RC vehicle's drivetrain, responsible for transferring rotational power from the transmission to the rear differential whilst maintaining perfect alignment and eliminating unwanted movement. The 6061-T6 aluminium specification is significant—this particular alloy is used in aerospace and automotive applications where performance and reliability are non-negotiable. Unlike cheaper composite or steel alternatives, 6061-T6 offers superior damping characteristics that reduce vibration throughout the drivetrain, resulting in smoother acceleration and more predictable handling during tight cornering and aggressive off-road driving. The material's fatigue resistance is exceptional, meaning it can withstand repeated stress cycles from constant acceleration and deceleration without experiencing the micro-fractures that lead to premature failure in lesser materials. The precision machining of the internal splines is critical—each spline tooth is cut to exact tolerances to ensure a perfect fit with zero backlash. This eliminates the jarring sensation of drivetrain slack and ensures that your motor's power is transmitted with maximum efficiency. The blue-anodised finish serves both protective and performance purposes: it creates a hard, wear-resistant surface that prevents galling and spalling of the aluminium under load, whilst the anodic layer also provides corrosion resistance against moisture, road salt, and the chemicals used in RC racing environments. Whether you're upgrading from a worn original driveshaft or replacing a composite unit with this premium aluminium alternative, the performance improvement is immediately noticeable in the form of tighter handling, more responsive acceleration, and greater overall drivetrain reliability during extended running sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the centre driveshaft and why do I need it for my RC car? — The centre driveshaft is the aluminium shaft that transmits power from your vehicle's transmission to the rear differential. It's essential for transferring engine power to the rear wheels. If you're experiencing drivetrain play, hearing clunking noises during acceleration, or upgrading your RC model for better performance, a quality centre driveshaft like this Traxxas component ensures smooth, efficient power delivery and improved handling characteristics.
  • Will this driveshaft improve my RC vehicle's performance? — Yes, upgrading to this 6061-T6 aluminium centre driveshaft from an older composite unit will provide noticeable improvements in handling smoothness, acceleration responsiveness, and overall drivetrain reliability. The rigid aluminium construction eliminates flex and play, whilst the precision internal splines ensure maximum power transfer efficiency.
  • Is this compatible with my Traxxas Stampede 4X4? — This centre driveshaft is specifically engineered for the Traxxas Stampede 4X4 platform, making it a direct fit for your vehicle's drivetrain system.
  • What does the blue-anodised finish do? — The blue-anodised finish is a protective coating created through electrochemical oxidation of the aluminium surface. It provides corrosion resistance against moisture and road chemicals, resists scratches and wear during regular use, and helps prevent galling and spalling of the aluminium under load—essentially making the driveshaft last longer and perform better.
  • Do I need to purchase the 6888X Drive Hub separately? — If you're upgrading from a composite driveshaft, you will need to purchase the 6888X Drive Hub separately, as the spline interfaces differ between composite and aluminium driveshafts. If you're replacing an existing aluminium centre driveshaft, your current hub will be compatible.
  • How long will this driveshaft last? — The 6061-T6 aluminium construction combined with the protective blue-anodised finish means this driveshaft is engineered for exceptional durability. With proper maintenance and reasonable use, you can expect many years of reliable service. The precision-machined internal splines resist wear, and the material's fatigue resistance is superior to composite alternatives.
  • What makes this better than cheaper driveshaft alternatives? — This genuine Traxxas component uses aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminium with precision-machined splines that eliminate drivetrain play, whereas cheaper alternatives often use lower-grade materials or composite construction that flexes under load and experiences play over time. The result is noticeably better handling, more efficient power transfer, and superior longevity.
