Overview
The Traxxas Springs, Front (White) (progressive rate) (2 pcs) are premium replacement springs designed specifically for Traxxas Slash Big Bore shocks, delivering responsive handling and superior bump absorption for your RC short course truck. Whether you're a competitive racer looking to fine-tune your RC car UK setup or a weekend basher wanting improved suspension performance, these custom-wound progressive-rate springs offer the performance enhancement you need. Available at RC Model Shop, we stock genuine Traxxas suspension components for all major platforms including brushless RC trucks, nitro models, and ready to run RC vehicles across the UK.
Progressive-rate springs represent a significant advancement in RC suspension technology, and Traxxas has engineered these white springs to work seamlessly with their Big Bore shock absorbers. The progressive rate design means the springs respond softly to small bumps and compressions, giving you the sensitive, responsive control necessary for navigating rough terrain and maintaining traction on technical courses. As the spring compresses further during harder impacts, it progressively stiffens, preventing bottoming out and protecting your vehicle's chassis during aggressive driving and racing. This intelligent spring design is ideal for all nitro and electric Rustler and Stampede applications, as well as Bandit and Nitro Sport RC models.
Built with steel construction for durability and longevity, these front springs are precision-engineered to match Traxxas's exacting standards. The pair of springs allows you to maintain balanced suspension geometry and consistent handling characteristics across both front suspension points. Spring rates are identical to stock Slash springs, ensuring compatibility and predictable performance whether you're upgrading from standard components or replacing worn springs. The 59mm length and precise diameter specifications have been calculated to deliver optimal spring force and travel characteristics with Traxxas aluminium Big Bore shocks (model #5862).
Key Features
- Progressive-rate spring design — These springs are custom-wound with a clever progressive rate profile that provides soft, responsive control for small bumps and vibrations whilst progressively stiffening as compression increases, which means you get excellent sensitivity for technical driving whilst maintaining bottom-out protection during aggressive landings and impacts.
- Compatible with Big Bore shocks — Specifically engineered to work with Traxxas #5862 aluminium Big Bore shock absorbers, ensuring perfect fitment and optimised suspension performance that matches the shock's advanced damping characteristics.
- Steel construction — Premium steel springs provide durability, consistency and longevity, resisting fatigue and maintaining their spring rate characteristics over extended use and multiple racing seasons.
- Sold as a pair — This package includes two springs, allowing you to upgrade both front suspension points simultaneously and maintain balanced, symmetrical handling geometry across your RC short course truck or other compatible Traxxas model.
- Custom-wound engineering — Each spring is precisely wound to Traxxas specifications, ensuring consistent spring rates, predictable performance and reliability across all units, which is especially important for competitive racing and tuning where suspension consistency is critical.
- Stock-rate compatibility — Spring rates are identical to stock Slash springs, making these an ideal upgrade path that maintains compatibility with your existing setup whilst delivering improved performance and handling characteristics.
- Precision dimensions — With a length of 59mm, outer diameter of 16.75mm, inner diameter of 14.3mm, and wire diameter of 1.3mm, these springs are engineered to exacting tolerances for optimal fitment and performance in Big Bore shocks.
Technical Performance
The Traxxas Springs, Front (White) (progressive rate) represent precision suspension engineering designed to transform your RC vehicle's handling characteristics. Constructed from high-quality steel, these springs deliver consistent, reliable performance across varied terrain and driving conditions. The progressive-rate design is particularly sophisticated, offering soft initial spring force that allows the suspension to react sensitively to small track imperfections and terrain variations, then progressively increasing in stiffness as the spring compresses further. This characteristic is essential in RC racing and bashing where you need both sensitivity for control and robustness for impact absorption. The 59mm length provides appropriate travel and compression range when paired with Traxxas aluminium Big Bore shocks, whilst the 16.75mm outer diameter, 14.3mm inner diameter, and 1.3mm wire diameter are optimised for strength-to-weight ratio and consistent damping support. These springs are ideal for all nitro and electric Rustler and Stampede applications, as well as Bandit and Nitro Sport models, giving them broad compatibility across the Traxxas range. The white colour-coding system allows quick visual identification of spring rates when tuning and comparing suspension setups. Whether you're running brushless RC trucks with LiPo power or traditional nitro engines, these springs adapt to the performance demands of modern RC racing and recreational driving. The pair configuration ensures balanced suspension geometry and eliminates handling inconsistencies that can result from mismatched or worn springs.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What shocks do these Traxxas front springs fit? — These white progressive-rate springs are specifically designed for Traxxas #5862 aluminium Big Bore shocks. They will not fit standard shocks or other manufacturers' shock absorbers, so it's essential to verify you have the correct shock model before purchase.
- What is a progressive-rate spring and why would I want one? — A progressive-rate spring has a spring rate that increases as it compresses. This means small bumps and vibrations receive a soft, responsive spring action for better control and traction, whilst larger impacts and compressions encounter progressively stiffer resistance, preventing bottoming out and chassis damage during aggressive driving or racing.
- Are these springs suitable for both racing and casual bashing? — Yes, these springs are ideal for competitive racing applications and weekend bashing alike. The progressive-rate design delivers the sensitivity needed for technical racing courses whilst providing the durability and impact protection required for casual high-speed driving and jumping.
- How do these compare to stock Traxxas springs? — The spring rates are identical to stock Slash springs, meaning these are direct replacements that maintain the same suspension characteristics as your vehicle's original springs. They're ideal for replacing worn springs or upgrading vehicles that have had their original springs damaged.
- What RC models are these springs compatible with? — These front springs are compatible with Traxxas Slash models equipped with #5862 Big Bore shocks, and are also suitable for Rustler, Stampede, Bandit, and Nitro Sport applications when used with the correct shock absorbers.
- Why do I need to upgrade my springs? — Springs wear over time and lose their original spring rate characteristics, affecting your vehicle's handling, ride height, and suspension performance. Upgrading to fresh springs restores responsive suspension behaviour, improves traction and control, and allows you to tune your suspension setup for specific driving conditions.
- Are these available at RC Model Shop? — Yes, the Traxxas Springs, Front (White) (progressive rate) (2 pcs) TRX5860 are in stock at RC Model Shop. We stock genuine Traxxas suspension components and offer UK-wide delivery with expert support from our team of RC enthusiasts.
