Overview
Upgrade your Traxxas Jato with these stunning red-anodised aluminium turnbuckles and transform both the appearance and performance of your RC car. Whether you're a serious racer or a weekend basher in the UK, weight reduction is a crucial factor in RC car performance, and these genuine Traxxas components deliver exactly that. The Traxxas Turnbuckles (Model TRX5539X) represent a genuine quality upgrade that will have your Jato looking sharper while improving handling characteristics through reduced unsprung weight.
These aluminium turnbuckles are engineered to replace your stock steel components, delivering nearly 19 grams of weight savings compared to the original equipment. For RC enthusiasts who understand that every gram counts when it comes to acceleration, braking, and overall responsiveness, this upgrade is a genuine performance enhancement, not just a cosmetic one. The brilliant fire-red anodised finish matches perfectly with Jato colour schemes and gives your RC car UK a truly professional appearance that stands out on the track or at the bash spot.
Designed specifically for camber link and toe link adjustment on the Jato platform, these turnbuckles come fully assembled with rod ends and hollow balls, meaning you can install them straight from the box without any additional work. Traxxas has engineered these components from high-grade 7075-T6 aluminium, the same material used in aerospace applications, ensuring that despite the weight savings you're gaining, you're not compromising on structural integrity or bending stiffness.
Key Features
- Lightweight 7075-T6 Aluminium Construction — These turnbuckles are manufactured from premium 7075-T6 aluminium alloy, the same high-strength material used in aerospace engineering, which provides exceptional bending stiffness whilst keeping weight to an absolute minimum, making them ideal for competitive RC car UK racing where every fraction of a gram matters.
- Significant Weight Reduction — At nearly 19 grams lighter than stock steel turnbuckles, these components noticeably reduce unsprung weight on your Jato, which directly improves acceleration, braking response, and overall handling dynamics, giving you a competitive edge on any track or terrain.
- 35% Lighter Than Titanium Alternatives — Whilst titanium is often considered the premium upgrade material, these aluminium turnbuckles actually weigh 35% less than titanium equivalents, making them the smart choice for weight-conscious racers who don't want to compromise on performance or durability.
- Brilliant Fire-Red Anodised Finish — The striking red anodised coating provides both aesthetic appeal and functional protection against corrosion and oxidation, ensuring your turnbuckles maintain their vibrant appearance even after extended use in challenging conditions typical of UK RC racing environments.
- Pre-Assembled with Rod Ends and Hollow Balls — These turnbuckles arrive fully assembled and ready to install, complete with quality rod ends and hollow ball joints that enable smooth camber and toe link adjustments without requiring any additional components or assembly work.
- Includes Matching Aluminium 5mm Wrench — The package includes a dedicated red-anodised aluminium 5mm wrench that prevents marring or scratching the beautiful finish of your new turnbuckles during adjustment, a thoughtful touch that demonstrates Traxxas's attention to detail and user experience.
- Camber Link and Toe Link Coverage — This comprehensive kit includes 4 pieces of 58mm camber links and 2 pieces of 61mm front toe links, providing complete front-end geometry adjustment capability for fine-tuning your Jato's handling characteristics to suit your driving style and track conditions.
- OEM Quality and Traxxas Engineering — As genuine Traxxas components rather than aftermarket alternatives, these turnbuckles are engineered to the exact specifications of your Jato, ensuring perfect fitment, reliable performance, and compatibility with all standard Jato suspension geometry.
Technical Performance
The engineering behind these turnbuckles reflects Traxxas's commitment to quality and performance. The 7075-T6 aluminium alloy used in their construction is renowned in engineering circles for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, providing ample bending stiffness to resist the forces encountered during aggressive driving whilst maintaining the dramatic weight reduction that makes these components worthwhile. The 58mm camber links and 61mm front toe links (measuring 69mm centre to centre on the camber link version) offer precise adjustment capability for fine-tuning your Jato's suspension geometry to match different track surfaces, weather conditions, and driving styles. The rod ends and hollow balls come factory-installed, meaning there's no need to source additional components or invest time in assembly—they're genuine, precision-engineered Traxxas parts that slot directly into your Jato's front suspension. The anodised finish serves a dual purpose: it provides the striking visual upgrade that makes your RC car UK instantly recognisable, whilst also offering protection against the corrosion and oxidation that aluminium can suffer in damp British conditions. When you consider that you're saving nearly 19 grams of unsprung weight whilst simultaneously improving your vehicle's appearance and gaining adjustment flexibility through a quality, brand-name manufacturer, the value proposition becomes clear. These aren't cosmetic aftermarket additions—they're genuine performance upgrades engineered by the same company that designed your Jato from the ground up.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will these turnbuckles fit my Traxxas Jato? — Yes, these are genuine Traxxas components (Model TRX5539X) engineered specifically for the Jato platform, ensuring perfect fitment and compatibility with your vehicle's suspension geometry.
- How much weight will I actually save? — These aluminium turnbuckles save nearly 19 grams compared to the stock steel versions, which is a meaningful reduction in unsprung weight that directly improves acceleration, braking response, and overall handling dynamics, particularly noticeable on tight, technical tracks.
- Are these stronger than stock turnbuckles? — Whilst lighter, the 7075-T6 aluminium provides excellent bending stiffness and durability, actually providing comparable or superior strength to stock steel components due to the high-grade aluminium alloy used, making them suitable for racing and aggressive bashing alike.
- Do I need any additional components to install these? — No, these turnbuckles come fully assembled with rod ends and hollow balls already installed, so you can fit them directly to your Jato without sourcing any additional parts.
- What makes these better than aftermarket alternatives? — These are genuine Traxxas components engineered to exact specifications by the manufacturer that designed your Jato, ensuring perfect fitment, reliable performance, and long-term durability that aftermarket parts often cannot guarantee.
- Why are these lighter than titanium options? — Whilst titanium is denser than aluminium, the 7075-T6 aluminium alloy used here achieves its strength through advanced metallurgical engineering rather than raw density, resulting in components that are 35% lighter than titanium equivalents whilst maintaining essential rigidity and durability.
- Are these suitable for beginners? — Whilst beginners certainly can use these turnbuckles, they represent a performance upgrade that's most beneficial to racers and experienced bashers who understand how suspension geometry affects handling and who will appreciate the weight reduction and adjustment flexibility these components provide.
- Will the red anodised finish stay vibrant? — The anodised coating is specifically designed to resist oxidation and corrosion, protecting the aluminium beneath and maintaining the brilliant fire-red appearance even with regular use in challenging UK weather conditions.
- Can I use the included wrench for other adjustments? — The 5mm wrench is specifically designed for your turnbuckles, though it could potentially be used for other 5mm fasteners on your Jato, though the primary purpose is to allow you to adjust and install your new turnbuckles without marring their beautiful finish.
