Overview
The Traxxas Pivot Balls with Hard-anodised 7075-T6 Aluminium are premium suspension upgrades designed for RC enthusiasts who demand the very best performance from their vehicles. If you run a Traxxas RC car, truck, or buggy in the UK and want to reduce unsprung weight whilst improving suspension smoothness, this is the upgrade you've been looking for. These lightweight pivot balls represent a significant performance enhancement over factory steel components, making them an essential upgrade for serious RC car UK competitors and weekend bashers alike.
Built from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminium and treated with hard-anodising for durability, these pivot balls are considerably lighter than the stock steel alternatives without sacrificing strength or reliability. The special PTFE-coating applied to each ball reduces friction dramatically, allowing your suspension arms to pivot with exceptional smoothness. This means better handling, more predictable suspension response, and improved overall vehicle control whether you're racing on the track or bashing off-road. Each pack contains four pivot balls plus four moulded bushing caps, offering a complete suspension upgrade solution.
For RC enthusiasts in the UK seeking ready to run RC vehicles with enhanced performance, or those looking to upgrade their existing brushless RC models, these Traxxas pivot balls deliver measurable improvements. The weight savings alone—19 grams per pack—make a noticeable difference to handling dynamics, whilst the PTFE-coating ensures your suspension operates at peak efficiency. Whether you're upgrading a single vehicle or stocking spares, this genuine Traxxas component is engineered to the exacting standards you expect from the world's leading RC manufacturer.
Key Features
- Hard-anodised 7075-T6 Aluminium Construction — These pivot balls are manufactured from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminium alloy, the same material trusted in high-performance racing applications worldwide. Hard-anodising provides a durable protective surface finish that resists wear and corrosion, ensuring your suspension upgrades last through countless sessions of RC racing or bashing.
- Significantly Lighter Than Stock Steel — Compared to factory steel pivot balls, these aluminium components are considerably lighter, removing precious unsprung weight from your vehicle's suspension. Reducing unsprung weight improves suspension response, wheel articulation, and overall handling characteristics, giving you better control over your RC car in all conditions.
- Special PTFE-Coating for Reduced Friction — Each pivot ball is treated with a specialised PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) coating that minimises friction between moving suspension components. This coating ensures your suspension arms pivot as smoothly as possible, translating to more responsive handling, reduced stiction, and a more predictable driving experience whether you're running a brushless RC model or any Traxxas vehicle.
- Four-Pack Configuration with Moulded Bushing Caps — This pack includes four complete pivot balls plus four moulded bushing caps, providing everything needed for a full suspension upgrade. The included caps are precisely engineered to work with these pivot balls, ensuring perfect fitment and long-term reliability on your RC car UK setup.
- 19-Gram Weight Reduction Per Pack — Each package of four pivot balls removes exactly 19 grams of weight from your vehicle. For serious RC enthusiasts running multiple packs, two packages will remove over one full ounce of unsprung weight, resulting in noticeably improved handling and responsiveness across all driving conditions.
- Genuine Traxxas OEM Component — As an official Traxxas replacement part, these pivot balls are engineered and quality-controlled to the same standards as the company's world-class RC vehicles. You're investing in genuine components that integrate seamlessly with your existing Traxxas chassis and suspension geometry.
Technical Performance
The engineering behind these pivot balls demonstrates Traxxas's commitment to performance excellence. The choice of 7075-T6 aluminium is deliberate: this alloy offers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, maintaining structural integrity whilst delivering significant weight savings. The hard-anodising process adds a wear-resistant surface layer approximately 0.0005 to 0.002 inches thick, protecting the underlying aluminium from corrosion and abrasion whilst maintaining precise dimensional tolerances essential for smooth suspension operation. The PTFE-coating further enhances performance by reducing the coefficient of friction at the pivot interface, which is crucial because friction in suspension pivot points directly affects how quickly and accurately your RC vehicle responds to terrain changes. In practical terms, this means your brushless RC model or any Traxxas vehicle will exhibit improved wheel articulation, more consistent suspension travel, and more predictable handling during acceleration, braking, and cornering. The weight reduction is equally significant: removing 19 grams of unsprung weight per pack improves the suspension's ability to follow terrain contours, reduces the energy required to compress and extend dampers, and enhances the overall feel of your RC car. For competitors running multiple upgrade packs, the cumulative effect of over one ounce of weight savings becomes immediately noticeable in lap times and consistency.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these pivot balls compatible with my Traxxas RC car UK? — These genuine Traxxas pivot balls (part number TRX4933X) are designed as replacement components for compatible Traxxas vehicles. Compatibility varies by model, so we recommend checking your vehicle's manual or contacting our expert team to confirm fitment before ordering. Our staff are experienced with all Traxxas models and can help ensure you select the correct upgrade for your specific RC car.
- How much weight will I actually save by upgrading to these pivot balls? — Each pack of four pivot balls removes exactly 19 grams of unsprung weight from your vehicle. If you install two packs, you'll remove over one full ounce of weight, which translates to measurably improved suspension response, better wheel articulation, and noticeably sharper handling characteristics. For competitive RC racing, this weight reduction can result in faster lap times and more consistent performance.
- What is the PTFE-coating and why does it matter? — PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), commonly known as Teflon, is an extremely low-friction polymer that Traxxas applies to the surface of these pivot balls. The coating reduces stiction—the static friction that occurs when suspension components are at rest or moving slowly—which means your suspension will pivot more smoothly, respond more quickly to terrain changes, and operate more efficiently. This is especially beneficial in high-speed cornering where quick suspension response is critical.
- Are these suitable for both racing and bashing? — Absolutely. Whether you're running competitive RC racing events or weekend bashing sessions with a brushless RC model, these pivot balls will improve performance. The weight reduction benefits all driving styles, whilst the friction-reducing PTFE-coating enhances responsiveness and predictability regardless of how aggressively you drive. The hard-anodised aluminium construction is durable enough for the demands of both disciplines.
- How do these compare to the stock steel pivot balls? — Stock Traxxas pivot balls are typically made from steel, which is heavier and offers no friction reduction. These hard-anodised 7075-T6 aluminium upgrades are considerably lighter whilst the PTFE-coating actively reduces friction, resulting in smoother suspension operation and better handling response. The weight savings are immediately noticeable, particularly during cornering and over rough terrain.
- Will I notice an improvement in handling? — Yes, most drivers report noticeable improvements immediately after installation. The combination of reduced unsprung weight and lower friction means your suspension responds faster to terrain inputs, your wheels maintain better contact with the ground during cornering, and your vehicle feels more composed and controllable overall. The effect is most pronounced if you're upgrading from stock steel components.
