Overview

The Traxxas Tyres, Anaconda 2.2in (wide, Front) (2 pcs) TRX2479 represent an excellent choice for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand premium performance on asphalt surfaces. These 2.2-inch front tyres are specifically engineered to deliver exceptional wear characteristics and sticky traction, making them the ideal upgrade for high-speed asphalt action on your RC buggy. Whether you're a seasoned RC car UK competitor or a weekend basher looking to improve your on-road performance, the Anaconda tyres provide the precision handling and durability needed to keep you racing at your best.

These Traxxas Anaconda tyres are designed to fit standard 2.2-inch buggy wheels, making them compatible with a wide range of 1/10 scale RC buggies. The wide front configuration ensures optimal contact patch and directional stability during cornering and high-speed runs on tarmac. The soft compound rubber delivers the sticky grip that RC drivers crave, whilst the robust construction ensures consistent performance lap after lap. If you're upgrading your brushless RC buggy or preparing for on-road racing, these tyres are a trusted solution used by countless RC enthusiasts throughout the United Kingdom.

With customer reviews praising both the accuracy of steering response and the exceptional performance on on-road surfaces, the Anaconda 2.2in tyres have established themselves as a go-to choice for serious RC car enthusiasts. The package includes two complete tyres with foam inserts, ready to install on your Bandit or compatible Traxxas buggy chassis. These are genuine Traxxas parts backed by the manufacturer's reputation for quality and performance engineering.

Key Features

  • 2.2-inch Wide Front Configuration — The wide front tyre design provides a larger contact patch with the asphalt surface, which translates to improved grip, more predictable steering response, and better cornering stability at high speeds. This wider profile is specifically optimised for on-road racing where precision and traction control are critical to competitive performance.
  • Soft Compound Rubber — The Anaconda tyres utilise a soft compound rubber formulation that grips the asphalt surface with exceptional stickiness. This softer rubber compound conforms to road imperfections and maintains traction even under demanding acceleration and braking loads, giving you the confidence to push your RC buggy to its limits.
  • Performance Street Tyres — These are purpose-built for tarmac and asphalt surfaces, delivering the specialised performance characteristics needed for on-road racing. Unlike off-road compound tyres, the Anaconda delivers superior wear resistance on hard surfaces whilst maintaining the grip levels that competitive drivers demand.
  • Exceptional Wear Characteristics — Traxxas has engineered the Anaconda tyres to withstand the demands of repeated high-speed running without excessive degradation. The durable rubber composition ensures your investment delivers consistent performance over many hours of driving, reducing the frequency of tyre replacements and improving your long-term value for money.
  • Foam Inserts Included — Each tyre package includes foam inserts for the Bandit platform, which provide cushioning and help maintain tyre shape during aggressive cornering. These inserts are essential for on-road performance, absorbing impacts and transmitting consistent handling feedback to the driver.
  • Traxxas and Standard 2.2-inch Wheel Compatibility — These tyres are designed to fit Traxxas brand wheels and other standard 2.2-inch buggy wheels, giving you flexibility in your setup and upgrade options. This broad compatibility means you can install the Anacondas on various RC buggies without requiring additional adaptors or modifications.
  • Two-Piece Package — You receive two complete Anaconda tyres per package, which is perfect for replacing a worn pair of front tyres on your 1/10 scale buggy. This paired configuration ensures matched performance across both front wheels for balanced handling characteristics.

Technical Performance

The Anaconda 2.2in tyres represent Traxxas's commitment to on-road tyre technology, engineered through extensive testing and real-world racing experience. The soft compound formulation is the result of careful rubber chemistry optimisation, creating a sweet spot between grip and durability that appeals to both competitive racers and enthusiast drivers throughout the UK. The wide profile is not merely aesthetic—it fundamentally changes the handling dynamics of your RC buggy, distributing load more evenly across the tyre surface and reducing the likelihood of premature wear on the edges. The foam inserts work in concert with the tyre construction to absorb micro-impacts from road texture and debris, which is critical for maintaining consistent steering feedback during high-speed passes. These tyres are specified for 1/10 scale 2WD buggies such as the Traxxas Bandit platform, but their universal 2.2-inch standard mounting means compatibility extends across numerous other RC buggy manufacturers. The engineering emphasis on asphalt performance means these tyres are not suitable for off-road surfaces; they are purpose-built for smooth tarmac, concrete, and professional racing tracks where their specialised tread pattern and rubber compound deliver maximum performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are the Traxxas Anaconda 2.2in tyres suitable for on-road RC buggy racing in the UK? — Yes, absolutely. The Anaconda tyres are specifically engineered as performance street tyres for high-speed asphalt action. They deliver exceptional grip on tarmac and concrete surfaces, making them ideal for on-road racing circuits and smooth track conditions throughout the United Kingdom. Their soft compound and wide front profile make them a favourite amongst competitive RC buggy racers.
  • What vehicles are these tyres compatible with? — These tyres fit any RC buggy equipped with standard 2.2-inch wheels. They are officially specified for the Traxxas Bandit platform, but their universal 2.2-inch mounting standard means they will fit a wide range of compatible buggies from Traxxas and other manufacturers, provided your vehicle uses 2.2-inch wheels.
  • Do these come with foam inserts? — Yes, the package includes foam inserts designed for the Bandit platform. These inserts are important for maintaining tyre shape and providing the cushioning necessary for consistent on-road handling performance. If you are using these tyres on a different buggy platform, you may need to source compatible inserts for optimal performance.
  • What is the difference between these Anaconda tyres and other Traxxas tyre options? — The Anaconda 2.2in represents Traxxas's dedicated on-road racing tyre option. Unlike off-road compound tyres designed for dirt and grass surfaces, the Anaconda uses a soft street compound optimised for asphalt grip and wear resistance on smooth surfaces. The wide front configuration also distinguishes these as a specialised street racing product rather than a general-purpose tyre.
  • How long do these tyres last? — The Anaconda tyres are engineered for exceptional wear characteristics, meaning they maintain performance over extended running periods compared to softer compound tyres. Actual lifespan depends on driving intensity, surface conditions, and maintenance, but these tyres are built for durability and consistency on on-road circuits.
  • Are these good for a beginner RC driver? — Yes, these tyres are suitable for beginners interested in on-road RC buggy racing. The soft compound and wide profile actually make the Anacondas quite forgiving, providing good grip and predictable steering response which helps newer drivers develop their skills. However, note that these are specifically for on-road asphalt surfaces; if you're just starting out and want off-road capability, you would need a different tyre type.
  • Can I use these on other RC vehicles besides buggies? — These are 2.2-inch tyres designed specifically for 1/10 scale buggies with 2.2-inch wheels. If your RC vehicle uses a different wheel size or mounting standard, these will not be compatible. Always verify your wheel size and specifications before purchasing replacement tyres.
