Compatible with most brushless motors on the market, including high RPM types, the Radient 50A G2 represents a significant step forward in ESC technology for recreational and competitive RC flying. With pre-installed XT60 battery connectors and bullet-style motor connectors, you can get flying faster without the hassle of soldering or complex setup procedures.
Key Features
- Low heat generation MOSFET with high instant current capability — The advanced MOSFET design minimises unwanted heat generation during flight whilst delivering instant current when demanded by your motor, ensuring consistent performance throughout your flying session without throttle lag or power delivery issues.
- Fast 32-bit microprocessor — The onboard 32-bit processor enables rapid calculation and response times, delivering split-second throttle response and precise motor control that translates directly into smoother, more predictable aircraft handling.
- Super-smooth start-up and accurate throttle linearity — Unlike ESCs with abrupt power delivery, this controller provides buttery-smooth start-up characteristics and linear throttle response across the entire range, giving you complete confidence in your control inputs whether you're taking off, flying steady, or performing aerobatic manoeuvres.
- Higher energy-saving qualities and efficiency — The efficient power delivery means less wasted energy converted to heat, which translates to longer flight times from your battery and reduced stress on your motor and electronics, ultimately extending the lifespan of your equipment.
- Adjustable SBEC output voltage — The integrated SBEC (Switch-Mode Battery Elimination Circuit) features adjustable output voltage, allowing you to fine-tune the voltage delivered to your servos for optimal performance and responsiveness in your specific aircraft configuration.
- Start-up protection — Built-in start-up protection prevents accidental motor engagement and potential crashes during power-up, giving you peace of mind when arming your aircraft on the flight line.
- Over-heat protection — Automatic thermal monitoring detects excessive heat buildup and throttles the ESC to safe levels, protecting your motor, ESC, and battery from damage during extended flights or high-demand operations.
- Low-voltage protection — The ESC monitors your battery voltage and automatically cuts power if it drops below safe levels, protecting your LiPo battery from over-discharge and the permanent damage that can result.
- Signal loss and phase loss protection — If your radio signal is lost or motor phases become disconnected, the ESC detects this instantly and cuts power to the motor, preventing dangerous runaway conditions and protecting your aircraft.
- Compatible with most motors on the market, including high RPM types — Whether you're running a standard speed motor or pushing the boundaries with high RPM variants, this ESC works seamlessly with the vast majority of brushless motors available to RC pilots, giving you complete flexibility in motor selection.
- Programming via LCD card for convenient operation — Instead of complicated computer connections or confusing button sequences, the Radient ESC accepts standard LCD programming cards, making setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting straightforward and accessible to pilots of all experience levels.
- Pre-installed XT60 battery connector — The industry-standard XT60 connector arrives pre-soldered, eliminating the need for additional connectors and getting you airborne faster without soldering skills.
- Pre-installed bullet-style motor connectors — Motor connectors are factory-installed and ready to connect your brushless motor immediately, saving time and ensuring reliable electrical connections.
Technical Performance
The Radient 50A G2 ESC / SBEC represents the pinnacle of brushless ESC engineering for RC fixed-wing aircraft. With a continuous current rating of 50A and support for 2-4 cell LiPo batteries, this controller is perfectly sized for medium-performance aircraft requiring reliable, high-efficiency power delivery. The compact dimensions of 68mm length, 25mm width, and just 10mm height make it ideal for tight fuselage installations, whilst the lightweight 37g design minimises impact on your aircraft's performance envelope. The distinctive black and orange colour scheme makes the controller easy to spot during maintenance. The advanced 32-bit microprocessor operates at speeds that far exceed earlier 8-bit and 16-bit designs, delivering the computational power necessary for smooth throttle control, rapid protection response, and precise motor management. The high-efficiency MOSFET architecture ensures minimal voltage drop across the speed controller, meaning more of your battery's power reaches your motor instead of being wasted as heat. This efficiency gain translates directly to extended flight times and cooler operating temperatures. Built to the exacting standards expected by club pilots across the UK, this ESC has been engineered to work seamlessly with the broadest possible range of brushless motor types, from modest 1000KV speed controllers right up to high RPM variants that other ESCs cannot safely handle. The included XT60 battery connector represents industry-standard reliability, whilst the pre-installed bullet connectors for the motor ensure clean, secure electrical contacts that won't come loose during aerobatic manoeuvres.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Radient 50A G2 ESC suitable for beginners flying RC aircraft? — Yes, absolutely. Whilst this is a sophisticated, advanced ESC with programmable features, it's specifically designed as a fit-and-forget solution for club pilots. It arrives with sensible default settings and comes ready to use straight from the box. The built-in protections (low voltage, overheating, signal loss) actually make it safer for less experienced pilots, as the ESC will protect both itself and your equipment from common mistakes.
- What battery does the Radient 50A G2 ESC need? — The ESC is designed to work with 2-cell, 3-cell, or 4-cell LiPo batteries (2S, 3S, or 4S configurations). It arrives with an XT60 battery connector pre-installed, which is the industry standard. Verify your battery has an XT60 connector; if not, you'll need an adapter.
- Can this ESC handle high RPM brushless motors? — Yes. Whilst many ESCs struggle with high RPM motors, the Radient 50A G2 is explicitly designed to be compatible with high RPM motor types, giving you complete freedom in motor selection without worrying about compatibility issues.
- What protection features does this ESC have? — The Radient 50A G2 includes five layers of protection: start-up protection (prevents accidental engagement), low-voltage protection (stops your battery discharging completely), over-heat protection (thermal monitoring), signal loss protection (detects lost radio signal), and phase loss protection (detects motor disconnect). These features work together to protect your aircraft, battery, motor, and ESC from damage.
- How heavy is the Radient 50A G2 ESC? — At just 37 grams (1.31 ounces), this ESC is remarkably lightweight, making it ideal for weight-conscious aircraft designs where minimising mass is critical for performance.
- Can I adjust the servo voltage with this ESC? — Yes. The adjustable SBEC output voltage feature allows you to fine-tune the voltage delivered to your servos, helping you optimise servo performance and response in your specific aircraft setup.
- What connectors does this ESC use? — The battery connection uses a pre-installed XT60 connector (industry standard). Motor connections use pre-installed 3.5mm bullet connectors. Signal connection uses standard servo-style 3-pin connectors compatible with any RC receiver.
- Do I need an LCD programming card to use this ESC? — No. The ESC works perfectly with standard default settings right out of the box. The LCD programming card is optional and only needed if you want to adjust advanced settings like throttle curve, rotation direction, or braking characteristics.
