Weighing just 17 grams, this mini servo delivers exceptional value and build quality that has made Radient servos rapidly recognised across the UK RC community for their outstanding performance-to-price ratio. Whether you're piloting a small-scale RC car, building a custom RC model, or upgrading an existing setup, this servo offers the size, power, torque and speed to suit a variety of RC applications without compromising on quality.
Built with metal gears and a 3P iron core motor, this servo represents Radient's commitment to durability and smooth operation. The dual ball raced output shaft ensures longevity even under demanding conditions, making it an ideal choice for RC car UK buyers, RC helicopter pilots, and anyone building custom RC models who needs a trusted, affordable servo solution. The 25-tooth spline provides secure coupling to standard servo horns, and the servo's compact dimensions (27.0 x 12.5 x 29.8 mm) make it perfect for tight installations where space is at a premium.
Radient servos are rapidly building a reputation for reliability that compliments their outstanding value, and this metal gear, dual ball raced, 17g Mini is no exception. If you're a seasoned RC competitor, a weekend basher, or just discovering the world of RC for the first time, this servo delivers the precision control and consistent performance you need to get the most out of your RC experience.
Key Features
- Metal Gears — The servo features durable metal gearing throughout, which provides superior strength and longevity compared to plastic alternatives, ensuring reliable performance even under repeated use and demanding control inputs in RC applications.
- 3P Iron Core Motor — This high-quality motor design delivers smooth, consistent torque delivery with minimal vibration, translating to precise and responsive control across all servo positions, which is essential for accurate steering and trim adjustments in RC cars and other models.
- 25-Tooth Spline — The industry-standard spline pattern ensures compatibility with a wide range of servo horns and control arms available from RC retailers across the UK, making it easy to integrate this servo into virtually any RC setup.
- Dual Ball Raced Output Shaft — Precision ball bearings on both sides of the output shaft dramatically reduce friction and wear, allowing for smoother operation, faster response times, and extended service life compared to single-bearing designs.
- Compact Mini Servo Size — At just 17 grams and measuring only 27.0 x 12.5 x 29.8 mm, this servo is ideal for applications where weight and space are critical factors, including lightweight RC cars, small-scale helicopters, and custom builds with tight packaging constraints.
- Dual Voltage Operation — The servo operates across both 4.8V and 6.0V ranges, providing flexibility in power system design and allowing you to optimise performance based on your specific RC application and battery setup.
Technical Performance
The Radient RS-MS125-MG delivers impressive performance specifications that punch well above its weight class and price point. At 4.8V, the servo achieves a speed of 0.14 seconds per 60 degrees with 3.0 kg.cm of torque, providing adequate responsiveness for general RC applications. When powered at the higher 6.0V specification, performance jumps significantly to 0.12 seconds per 60 degrees with a robust 3.5 kg.cm of torque, making it capable of handling more demanding control requirements. The metal gear construction ensures that this torque is delivered consistently without the slipping or stripping issues sometimes encountered with plastic-geared alternatives, whilst the 3P iron core motor provides smooth, vibration-free operation essential for precise control inputs. The dual ball raced output shaft represents a significant engineering advantage, as the dual-bearing arrangement distributes loads more evenly and reduces friction compared to single-bearing designs, resulting in faster response times and extended component lifespan. The compact 17-gram weight makes this servo an excellent choice for any RC application where minimising overall weight is beneficial, from lightweight RC cars to aerial RC models. The dimensions of 27.0 x 12.5 x 29.8 mm mean this servo fits comfortably into tight spaces, making it perfect for compact RC designs or situations where you're retrofitting a servo into a pre-existing chassis.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Radient RDNA0404 mini servo suitable for beginners building their first RC model? — Absolutely. This servo's compact size, reliable metal gear construction, and straightforward operation make it an excellent choice for beginners. The dual voltage capability (4.8V-6.0V) provides flexibility as you learn about RC systems, and the affordable price point won't break the budget whilst you're developing your skills. The age recommendation of 14+ reflects the precision handling required rather than any limitation for adult beginners.
- What voltage battery should I use with this servo? — The Radient RDNA0404 is rated for operation between 4.8V and 6.0V. This typically means a standard 4-cell NiMH rechargeable battery pack (nominally 4.8V) or a 2-cell LiPo battery (nominally 7.4V, though it will operate at reduced voltage as the battery discharges). Never exceed 6.0V to avoid damaging the servo's internal electronics. If you're using a LiPo battery, ensure you have a voltage regulator or BEC (Battery Elimination Circuit) that outputs a safe voltage for the servo.
- How does this servo compare to other mini servos available in the UK RC market? — The Radient RDNA0404 stands out for its combination of metal gears, dual ball-raced output shaft, and competitive pricing. Many budget servos use plastic gears which can strip under load, whilst premium-priced alternatives may not offer significantly better performance for most RC applications. The 0.12 second response time at 6V is competitive with servos at twice the price, and the robust metal gear construction ensures longevity. For UK RC buyers seeking excellent value without compromising on reliability, this Radient servo represents outstanding choice.
- Can I use this servo in a waterproof RC application? — Whilst this servo is not specifically sealed or rated as waterproof, the metal gears and quality construction provide reasonable durability. For applications exposed to water (beach buggies, water-adjacent racing), consider using a waterproof servo housing or protective covers. Always allow the servo to dry thoroughly after exposure to moisture to prevent internal corrosion.
- What is the difference between this servo and the Radient standard-voltage versions? — This servo is rated for 4.8-6.0V operation with the specifications listed. If Radient offers higher-voltage (HV) variants, those would operate at 6.0-7.4V and typically deliver faster response times and higher torque. Check the model number carefully when ordering, as different voltage ratings are designed for different power systems.
- Is this servo digital or analogue? — The Radient RS-MS125-MG is an analogue servo, meaning it uses continuous servo electronics rather than digital signal processing. Analogue servos are fully compatible with all standard RC receivers and transmitters, simpler to diagnose if problems occur, and often more affordable. Digital servos offer additional resolution and holding torque, but analogue servos like this one provide excellent performance for most RC applications at a better price point.
