Overview
The PRO 1/10 Sector Light Weight Clear Body is a premium polycarbonate bodyshell designed specifically for the TLR 22X 1/10 scale buggy. This is an essential component for serious RC buggy racers and enthusiasts in the UK who demand performance-engineered aerodynamics and handling optimisation. The Sector lineup represents a ground-up redesign from Pro-Line Racing, one of America's most respected RC body manufacturers, engineered to help you achieve faster lap times in the trickiest of track conditions, whether you're competing in organised races or pushing your limits at your local RC track.
If you're searching for a 1/10 RC buggy body that combines competitive performance with proven durability, the Sector Light Weight Clear Body delivers on both fronts. This is a bare clear body – unpainted – which means you have complete creative freedom to apply your own custom paint scheme and race livery using Pro-Line Paints. The lightweight construction and aerodynamic design make this body suitable for serious racers and experienced modellers who understand body tuning and setup. It's not a ready-to-run RC car, but rather a precision component that completes a competitive 1/10 buggy platform when paired with a suitable chassis like the TLR 22X.
Based in the UK, RC Model Shop stocks this professional-grade body for customers who refuse to compromise on quality and performance. Whether you're upgrading an existing buggy or building a competitive race machine, the Sector Light Weight Clear Body represents genuine Pro-Line engineering at a competitive price point.
Key Features
- Low-Slung Aerodynamic Design — The dramatically lowered stance of this body creates a centre of gravity that enhances stability while maintaining excellent drivability, which directly translates to more predictable handling in high-speed corners and reduces the tendency for the buggy to tip or roll during aggressive racing.
- Laid-Back Windshield Profile — The reclined windshield angle contributes to the overall aerodynamic efficiency of the body and helps reduce aerodynamic lift at speed, keeping your buggy planted on the track even during the most demanding race conditions.
- Extended Centre Fin for Stability and Side Bite — A prominent centre fin runs the length of the body and is engineered to provide ideal stability and side bite, ensuring your buggy maintains its racing line through corners and resists drift during acceleration and braking phases.
- Air Force 7-Inch Ultra-Wide Wing Included — This competition-grade wing is included with the body and features a perfect blend of downforce and low drag characteristics, manufactured from ultra-durable 1mm thick polycarbonate material designed to withstand the rigours of track racing.
- Three Rear Chord Trim Heights for Track Tuning — The trailing edge of the Air Force wing features three different chord trim height options, allowing you to fine-tune the downforce and drag balance to suit specific track conditions, weather, and your personal driving style – a feature found on serious race bodies.
- Dual Diagonal Ribs on Wing Structure — Two diagonal ribs are incorporated into the wing design to keep the wing perfectly true and rigid at high speeds, preventing flex and ensuring consistent aerodynamic performance lap after lap throughout your RC racing sessions.
- Ample Tyre and Mechanical Clearance — The body geometry provides generous clearance around the gearbox, chassis, and bulkhead areas, as well as ample space around the outer tyre edges, ensuring no rubbing or interference regardless of suspension articulation or tyre selection.
- Crystal Clear Polycarbonate Construction — Manufactured from premium quality clear polycarbonate, this material offers excellent impact resistance and flexibility, allowing the body to absorb impacts during crashes whilst remaining transparent for easy visibility during painting and final assembly.
- Paint-Then-Peel Overspray Film Built-In — The body comes with a pre-applied protective film that you peel away after painting, protecting unpainted areas and making your custom paint application significantly easier and more professional-looking without requiring masking tape.
- Two-Pack Air Force Wings — You receive two complete Air Force 7-inch wings with this body, providing spare wings for practice sessions or damage replacement and giving you flexibility to run different wing configurations on the same body.
- Window Mask Sheet Included — A pre-cut window mask sheet is provided to make masking the windows and canopy area quick and straightforward, ensuring clean paint lines around all viewing areas without tedious hand-cutting.
- Decal Sheet for Custom Branding — A full decal sheet is included, allowing you to add sponsor logos, race numbers, and branding to your painted body, giving your RC buggy that authentic racing aesthetic.
- Made in the USA Since 1982 — Pro-Line Racing has been manufacturing RC bodies for over four decades and continues to produce this body in the USA, ensuring consistent quality control and supporting proven manufacturing standards that serious racers trust.
- Compatibility with TLR 22X Platform — This body is engineered specifically for the TLR 22X chassis, ensuring perfect fitment and allowing the body aerodynamics to work in harmony with the proven suspension and drivetrain geometry of this respected platform.
Technical Performance
The PRO 1/10 Sector Light Weight Clear Body represents cutting-edge aerodynamic engineering for 1/10 scale off-road buggy racing. The entire body geometry has been optimised through professional racing feedback and development, with the low-slung profile and extended centre fin working together to improve both cornering grip and high-speed stability. The wide Air Force 7-inch wing provides genuine aerodynamic downforce without introducing excessive drag, a critical balance in competitive racing where top speed matters as much as handling. The inclusion of three rear chord trim heights demonstrates Pro-Line's commitment to allowing racers to dial in their setup – you can adjust the wing angle based on track surface conditions, ambient temperature, and track layout. The wing structure, reinforced with two diagonal ribs, maintains perfect rigidity even under the extreme forces encountered during acceleration and cornering, preventing the wing from flexing and losing aerodynamic consistency. The body accommodates the TLR 22X's suspension travel and chassis geometry perfectly, with careful engineering around the gearbox, bulkhead, and tyre clearance areas ensuring no interference during suspension articulation. The ultra-durable 1mm thick polycarbonate material used throughout provides excellent durability for track racing whilst remaining lightweight, helping maintain the light overall vehicle weight necessary for competitive performance. The clear polycarbonate allows complete visibility during the painting process and permits light transmission for a professional appearance even with opaque paint schemes. Manufacturing in the USA since 1982 ensures Pro-Line maintains rigorous quality control standards, with each body tested to ensure consistent thickness and structural integrity before shipping to customers worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Pro-Line Sector Light Weight body suitable for beginners to RC buggy racing? — This is a bare polycarbonate body shell designed for experienced modellers and competitive racers rather than beginners. It requires you to have a TLR 22X chassis, paint the body yourself, and integrate it with a complete electronics package. If you're new to RC buggies, you may prefer a ready-to-run or kit format buggy that comes with basic electronics already installed. However, if you already own a TLR 22X and wish to upgrade with a competition-grade body, this is an excellent choice regardless of experience level.
- What makes the Sector body different from other Pro-Line 1/10 buggy bodies available in the UK? — The Sector represents Pro-Line's ground-up redesign specifically optimised for challenging track conditions. The key differences include the low-slung design for improved stability, the extended centre fin for enhanced side bite, and the included Air Force 7-inch wing with three rear chord trim options for serious racers. Previous body designs may not offer this level of aerodynamic tuning capability or the same optimisation for lap time reduction.
- Can I use this body on any 1/10 scale buggy or is it exclusive to the TLR 22X? — This body is engineered and designed specifically for the TLR 22X chassis. While some experienced modellers occasionally adapt bodies between similar platforms, Pro-Line's design optimisation and fitment engineering are specific to the TLR 22X. For best results and guaranteed fitment, use this body exclusively with a TLR 22X platform.
- Does this product include everything needed to run an RC buggy? — No. This is a body shell component only. To complete a functional RC buggy, you need a TLR 22X chassis, electronic speed controller (ESC), brushless or brushed motor, radio receiver, servo, battery, and battery charger. Pro-Line manufactures this body shell; they do not manufacture the complete buggy. You will need to source these components separately.
- How do I paint this clear polycarbonate body for the best professional finish? — The body comes with a pre-applied paint-then-peel overspray protection film. You should mask the windows using the included window mask sheet, then apply your chosen RC paint (Pro-Line Paints are specifically formulated for polycarbonate and offer excellent colour selection). After painting, you peel away the protective film to reveal clean, unpainted areas. Allow paint to cure fully before handling or mounting on your buggy.
- Why does this body come with two Air Force wings instead of one? — Pro-Line includes a two-pack of wings to provide spares for practice sessions, damage replacement, or to allow you to test different wing configurations on the same body setup. This gives you flexibility in tuning and ensures you're never without a wing if one is damaged during racing or transport.
- What is the performance benefit of the extended centre fin on this body? — The extended centre fin contributes to improved stability during cornering and provides side bite, which is the characteristic that keeps your buggy tracking through corners without drifting sideways. A longer centre fin helps transmit lateral forces more effectively and makes the buggy feel more responsive and planted during aggressive driving.
- Is this body impact-resistant or will it crack easily if I crash my buggy? — The 1mm thick polycarbonate material offers excellent impact resistance and is specifically chosen for RC racing applications where crashes are inevitable. The material flexes and absorbs impact energy rather than shattering like rigid plastics, so minor crashes typically result in no damage and even more serious impacts rarely crack the body. This makes it suitable for competitive racing where durability is essential.
