Overview
The Traxxas Caps & Spring Retainers for GTR Shock (TRX7468X) is an essential replacement suspension component designed for RC enthusiasts who demand reliability and performance from their vehicles. Whether you're a competitive racer, a weekend basher, or someone discovering the world of RC cars UK for the first time, keeping your suspension system in top condition is critical to maintaining handling performance and longevity. This genuine Traxxas replacement parts set provides everything you need to refresh and maintain your GTR shock absorbers, ensuring your RC model continues to perform at its best on track or off-road.
As a dedicated RC hobby retailer serving the UK market, we understand that suspension components experience wear and tear through regular use. The shock caps and spring retainers are particularly susceptible to damage from impacts, harsh terrain, and the constant cycle of compression and extension. This official Traxxas spare parts kit gives you a cost-effective way to refresh two complete shocks without needing to purchase entirely new units. It's the smart choice for RC car enthusiasts in the UK who want to extend the life of their vehicles and maintain consistent performance lap after lap.
Designed specifically for compatibility with Traxxas UDR (Unlimited Desert Racer) models, this suspension refresh kit delivers genuine Traxxas engineering and quality. The components are manufactured to exacting standards and are the same parts used in factory-built vehicles, guaranteeing fitment and performance. Whether you're running a brushless RC truck or preparing your ready to run RC vehicle for competitive racing, maintaining your suspension system with genuine Traxxas parts is an investment in reliability and performance that will pay dividends on every run.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Traxxas RC vehicles is this suspension kit compatible with? — This GTR shock caps and spring retainers kit is specifically designed for the Traxxas UDR Unlimited Desert Racer Pro-Scale 4WD RTR Short Course Truck, compatible with both the Fox Racing and Rigid Industries variants. If you own a UDR model, this kit will fit perfectly and provide the exact replacement components your vehicle was engineered to use.
- How many shocks can this refresh kit service? — This complete kit contains all the components necessary to refresh and maintain two full shock absorbers. Each shock requires one upper cap, one lower cap, one upper retainer, one lower retainer, and two hollow balls, making this the ideal solution for a comprehensive suspension refresh on vehicles with dual front or dual rear shocks.
- Why would I need to replace shock caps and retainers? — Shock caps and retainers experience significant wear and tear during normal RC vehicle operation. They can become damaged from hard impacts, cracked from exposure to UV light and weather, or worn from the constant compression and extension cycles of suspension use. Replacing these components restores your shock's ability to maintain consistent spring preload and suspension geometry, directly improving your vehicle's handling and performance.
- Are these genuine Traxxas parts or aftermarket replacements? — These are 100% genuine Traxxas replacement parts manufactured to the same exacting standards as components found in factory-built Traxxas vehicles. When you purchase official Traxxas spare parts like this kit, you're getting the same quality engineering and materials that Traxxas uses throughout their production line, guaranteeing compatibility and reliability.
- What is the purpose of the hollow balls included in this kit? — The hollow balls serve as precision ball joint connections that allow the shock rods to articulate smoothly while maintaining the critical geometry of your suspension system. They enable vertical suspension movement whilst keeping the shock properly aligned, which is essential for consistent handling characteristics and vehicle stability across all driving conditions.
- Can I use this kit on other Traxxas vehicles? — This kit is specifically engineered for GTR shock absorbers used in the Traxxas UDR platform. Whilst other Traxxas vehicles may use different shock designs, attempting to use these components on incompatible models could result in poor fitment and performance issues. Always verify compatibility with your specific vehicle model before purchasing suspension components.
