Overview

The ARRMA Ball Bearing 15x24x5 (2RS) (2) Z-ARA-1512 represents a premium replacement bearing solution for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand reliability and performance from their models. These high-quality rubber shielded ball bearings are essential maintenance components for anyone running ARRMA RC vehicles, whether you're a seasoned competitor or an RC car UK hobbyist enjoying weekend bashing sessions. When your existing bearings wear out or need replacement, having genuine ARRMA spare parts ensures your model maintains the smooth, responsive handling you expect from quality RC equipment.

Manufactured to the exacting standards ARRMA is recognised for, these bearings are precision-engineered to deliver consistent performance in all operating conditions. The inclusion of two bearings in this pack makes them ideal for addressing wear across your model's drivetrain, whether you're running high-performance brushless RC vehicles or need to refresh multiple bearing positions simultaneously. For anyone maintaining an ARRMA 1/8 scale model truck like the KRATON 6S V6 or NOTORIOUS 6S V6, these bearings are a crucial spare part to have in your toolbox.

If you're serious about keeping your RC car UK collection in peak condition, investing in genuine OEM bearings from ARRMA ensures longevity and optimal performance. These bearings represent the difference between a vehicle that handles predictably and one that experiences unwanted drag or binding during high-speed runs.

Key Features

  • Premium Ball-Raced Construction — These bearings utilise precision ball-race technology that enables ultra-smooth operation across all driving conditions, whether you're pushing your model hard on the track or enjoying casual runs through parks and open spaces. Ball races reduce friction and rotational resistance, directly translating to better acceleration, higher top speed potential, and more responsive handling characteristics.
  • Rubber Protective Shields (2RS Design) — The dual protective shields seal out dirt, dust, sand and moisture whilst still allowing smooth rotation, extending bearing lifespan significantly compared to unshielded alternatives. This is particularly important in the UK's variable weather conditions, where damp environments and muddy terrain can quickly degrade unprotected bearings. The 2RS designation means both sides feature sealed protection.
  • Precision Manufacturing Tolerances — Each bearing is manufactured to consistent, exacting tolerances, ensuring fast and straightforward installation without forcing or grinding. This precision engineering means bearings fit perfectly in their housings, eliminating play whilst maintaining smooth rotation—critical for maintaining handling consistency and drivetrain efficiency.
  • Safe and Secure Assembly — Manufactured to consistent tolerance specifications, these bearings guarantee secure assembly into your model's bearing housings, preventing unwanted movement or slippage that could compromise handling or increase drivetrain wear.
  • Pair Pack Format — This pack contains two individual bearings, allowing you to replace multiple bearing positions simultaneously or maintain spares for quick field maintenance during extended RC sessions.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Ball Bearing 15x24x5 (2RS) represents a purpose-built replacement component engineered specifically for ARRMA RC vehicles, particularly their high-performance 1/8 scale brushless models. With inner diameter measurements of precisely 15mm and outer diameter of 24mm with a 5mm thickness profile, these bearings are designed to integrate seamlessly into ARRMA's drivetrain architecture. The rubber-sealed 2RS design provides excellent protection against the elements whilst maintaining the low-friction characteristics essential for smooth power delivery. Whether you're running an ARRMA KRATON 6S V6 4X4 BLX Speed Monster Truck or the remarkable NOTORIOUS 6S V6 4X4 BLX Stunt Truck, these bearings have been engineered to handle the rigorous demands of high-speed RC driving. The precision ball-race construction minimises rotational resistance, enabling maximum power transfer from your brushless motor through the drivetrain to your tyres. In real-world RC car UK applications, maintaining fresh, high-quality bearings directly impacts your model's performance characteristics, handling responsiveness, and component longevity. Replacing worn bearings with genuine ARRMA parts ensures your vehicle returns to factory-specification performance levels.

What's in the Box

  • 2 x Rubber Shielded Ball Bearing 15x24x5mm (2RS specification)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does 2RS mean on these ball bearings? — The 2RS designation indicates that both sides of the bearing feature rubber protective seals. This dual-shield design keeps contaminants like dirt, sand, and moisture out whilst allowing the bearing to spin freely. In the UK's often damp climate, this protection is invaluable for maintaining bearing lifespan, particularly if you're driving through muddy terrain or wet grass.
  • Are these bearings suitable for my ARRMA RC model? — Yes, the ARRMA Ball Bearing 15x24x5 (2RS) is specifically compatible with multiple ARRMA 1/8 scale models including the KRATON 6S V6 4X4 BLX Speed Monster Truck (available in Orange, Green, Pink, and Blue variants) and the NOTORIOUS 6S V6 4X4 BLX Stunt Truck (Black and Blue versions). Check your model documentation or contact our team to confirm compatibility with your specific vehicle.
  • How often should I replace these bearings? — Bearing replacement frequency depends on usage intensity and environmental conditions. Casual RC car UK enthusiasts might replace bearings every 6-12 months, whilst competitive drivers or those using their models extensively may need replacements more frequently. Regular inspection is recommended—if you notice grinding sounds, rough rotation, or visible dirt inside the bearing, replacement is needed.
  • Can I fit these bearings myself? — Yes, these bearings are precision-manufactured for fast and easy fit. The consistent tolerances ensure they slide into their housings without forcing, making them ideal for hobbyist maintenance. If you're unfamiliar with bearing replacement, our experienced team at RC Model Shop can provide guidance or perform the work for you.
  • What's the difference between these sealed bearings and open bearings? — Sealed (2RS) bearings like these offer superior protection against contamination and moisture ingress, particularly valuable in outdoor RC car UK environments. Open bearings spin slightly more freely but offer no protection against the elements, making them susceptible to rapid degradation in damp or dirty conditions. For most RC hobbyists, sealed bearings represent the better investment for longevity and reliability.
