Overview
The VITAVON CNC Aluminum 7075 V2 Longer Lower Links Set is a premium upgrade component designed specifically for the Losi LMT Mega Mud Truck and compatible LMT 1.0 and 2.0 platforms. This is an essential upgrade for any serious RC enthusiast looking to enhance their truck's suspension geometry, articulation, and overall performance. Whether you're a weekend basher enjoying green lanes and muddy terrain, or a dedicated RC truck competitor seeking competitive advantages, this suspension upgrade delivers the precision engineering and durability that separates good RC builds from exceptional ones.
Constructed from aerospace-grade CNC-machined aluminium 7075, these lower links represent the pinnacle of aftermarket RC component manufacturing. The longer dimension design fundamentally improves your truck's suspension kinematics, allowing for greater shock stroke utilisation and superior weight distribution across the suspension geometry. This means better traction on uneven terrain, improved stability during high-speed runs, and enhanced ground clearance for extreme off-road conditions. For RC car enthusiasts in the UK seeking to maximise their LMT Mega Mud Truck's potential, this is a transformative upgrade that delivers measurable improvements in handling and durability.
Unlike standard OEM lower links that come with your truck, the VITAVON V2 longer design unlocks the ability to run a four-shock suspension setup—a significant advantage that serious RC competitors and dedicated bashers have leveraged for years. This suspension configuration provides unprecedented control, better bump absorption, and smoother power delivery across technical terrain. The silver anodised finish not only looks professional but also provides corrosion resistance during wet and muddy adventures typical of UK RC truck running.
Key Features
- CNC-Machined Aluminium 7075 Construction — Manufactured from aircraft-grade aluminium alloy, these links offer an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio that dramatically reduces unsprung mass whilst maintaining structural integrity under extreme suspension loads, resulting in more responsive handling and faster suspension articulation during technical driving.
- Longer Link Geometry Design — The extended length allows installation of four independent shock absorbers rather than the standard two, fundamentally changing your truck's suspension characteristics and enabling fine-tuned damping rates for different driving conditions and terrain types.
- Eye-to-Eye Dimension of 157mm — This precise measurement ensures perfect compatibility with the LMT Mega Mud Truck platform whilst providing the optimised geometry that VITAVON has engineered for maximum suspension travel and articulation, translating directly to better off-road performance.
- Precision CNC Manufacturing — Every component is computer-numerically-controlled to exact tolerances, ensuring perfect fit with OEM suspension mounting points and eliminating the binding or misalignment issues sometimes found in lower-quality aftermarket parts.
- Silver Anodised Finish — The professional-grade anodised coating provides excellent corrosion resistance against moisture, mud, and salt water, maintaining the component's structural integrity and aesthetic appeal through countless muddy sessions across the UK.
- Reduced Unsprung Mass — By choosing high-strength aluminium over heavier alternatives, these links minimise the mass suspended below your truck's main chassis, improving suspension responsiveness and allowing shocks to react more quickly to terrain changes.
- Four-Shock Suspension Capability — The longer geometry enables installation of a secondary shock set, providing independent damping control for both compression and rebound on each wheel, resulting in superior handling across varied terrain.
- LMT 1.0, LMT 2.0, and LMT Mega Mud Truck Compatibility — These lower links are engineered to fit seamlessly across multiple LMT platform generations, making them a versatile upgrade whether you're running the original LMT 1.0, the updated LMT 2.0, or the purpose-built Mega Mud variant.
Technical Performance
The VITAVON CNC Aluminum 7075 V2 Longer Lower Links represent the intersection of materials science and suspension engineering. Aluminium 7075 is the same alloy used in aerospace structures and high-performance racing applications because it delivers phenomenal strength whilst remaining lightweight—critical for RC suspension components where every gram of unsprung mass directly impacts handling responsiveness. The CNC machining process ensures that every edge, hole, and mounting surface is machined to within tenths of a millimetre, eliminating tolerances that plague lower-quality components and guaranteeing perfect alignment with your LMT's suspension pickup points. The 157mm eye-to-eye dimension is specifically calculated to work in harmony with the LMT platform's spring rates, roll centre geometry, and anti-roll bar setup, creating a suspension system that feels substantially planted and predictable. The longer geometry enables the critical four-shock configuration that serious RC truck runners prefer—this setup allows you to run different shock oil weights or spring rates on diagonal pairs, fine-tuning your truck's behaviour in real-time without changing the entire suspension package. The silver anodised finish is not merely cosmetic; anodising creates a hard oxide layer on the aluminium surface that resists corrosion far better than bare metal, essential when running through UK muddy terrain where moisture and decomposing organic matter can quickly attack unpainted aluminium. Whether you're tackling technical rock crawling sections, blasting across open fields, or competing in organised RC truck events, these links provide the durability and performance characteristics that separate weekend warriors from serious competitors.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will these lower links work with my standard LMT Mega Mud Truck without modification? — Yes, these VITAVON lower links are engineered specifically for the LMT Mega Mud Truck platform and are designed to install directly into the existing suspension mounting points without modification, making the upgrade straightforward for owners with basic RC maintenance experience.
- What are the advantages of longer lower links for RC truck suspension? — Longer lower links alter your truck's suspension geometry by increasing the angle of the suspension arms relative to the chassis, which improves weight transfer characteristics, enables four-shock configurations, increases available suspension travel, and delivers more progressive damping curves—all translating to noticeably better traction and stability on technical terrain.
- Can I use these links with the standard two-shock suspension setup, or do I need four shocks? — These longer links are compatible with both two-shock and four-shock configurations; however, they're specifically optimised for and primarily benefit from a four-shock setup where you can independently tune each wheel's damping rates for superior handling across varied terrain types.
- Are these links suitable for beginners? — Whilst these links are excellent quality components, installation requires basic RC mechanical knowledge including suspension removal and reinstallation; beginners comfortable with fundamental RC maintenance will find installation straightforward, but complete novices may benefit from watching installation tutorials or seeking help from experienced RC club members.
- How do CNC-machined components compare to stamped or cast alternatives? — CNC machining delivers superior precision with tighter tolerances, better structural consistency, and perfect alignment of all mounting holes and surfaces compared to stamped steel (which can bend) or cast alternatives (which can have porosity); this translates directly to more reliable performance and longer component lifespan.
- Will these aluminium links survive muddy, wet conditions typical of UK RC terrain? — Absolutely—the anodised finish provides robust corrosion resistance specifically designed for damp conditions, and aluminium naturally resists rust unlike steel; simply rinse your truck after muddy sessions to remove trapped moisture and your links will remain in excellent condition.
- What is the weight difference compared to OEM lower links? — Whilst exact weight savings aren't specified, aerospace-grade aluminium 7075 is significantly lighter than the steel or lower-grade aluminium used in standard links, reducing unsprung mass and improving suspension responsiveness—a benefit you'll feel immediately in sharper handling and faster articulation.
- Do these longer links affect my truck's ground clearance or approach angles? — The longer geometry does alter suspension geometry slightly, potentially affecting approach and departure angles; however, this is intentional and delivers improved weight transfer and suspension performance in most driving scenarios, particularly on technical terrain where increased articulation is beneficial.
