Key Features
- Aerospace-Grade Alu7075 Construction — This differential housing is manufactured from high-quality aluminium 7075, one of the strongest aluminium alloys available, providing superior durability and resistance to bending or deformation under extreme loads that occur during aggressive driving and hard landings.
- Precision CNC Manufacturing — Every component is produced using computer numerical control machining, ensuring exact tolerances and perfect fitment with your LOSI DBXL E2.0, reducing play in the drivetrain and improving overall handling consistency.
- Hybrid Steel and Aluminium Design — The combination of aluminium 7075 for the main housing with steel reinforcement creates an optimal balance between weight savings and maximum strength, outperforming pure plastic original equipment.
- Multiple Colour Options — Available in Silver, Red, and Black finishes, allowing you to match your buggy's colour scheme or stand out on the track, with Silver as the default colour option.
- Direct Compatibility with LOSI DBXL E2.0 — This housing is engineered specifically for the LOSI DBXL E2.0 1/5 scale buggy platform, guaranteeing perfect fitment without modification or additional parts required.
- Enhanced Drivetrain Reliability — Upgrading to this metal differential case significantly reduces differential wear and failure, extending the life of your entire drivetrain system and reducing the need for frequent repairs and replacements.
- Professional-Grade Upgrade Component — This is the type of upgrade component selected by competitive RC racers and serious hobbyists who need dependable performance and longevity from their equipment.
Technical Performance
The VITAVON DBXL E2.0 CNC alu7075 Diff Case Differential Housing represents a significant engineering advancement over the original plastic differential components found on the LOSI DBXL E2.0. The use of aluminium 7075, combined with precision CNC manufacturing techniques, creates a differential housing capable of handling the extreme torque loads generated by high-powered brushless motors and aggressive driving techniques. The material selection is crucial—aluminium 7075 offers a strength-to-weight ratio that surpasses standard aluminium alloys, whilst remaining significantly lighter than solid steel, making it the preferred choice for performance RC applications. The hybrid construction incorporating steel elements provides additional reinforcement at critical stress points where the differential gears engage and load transfer occurs. The manufacturing tolerances achieved through CNC machining are typically within 0.1mm, ensuring that the differential case mates perfectly with the drivetrain components. This precision fit is essential because any looseness or play in the differential housing directly impacts handling characteristics, traction control, and the vehicle's ability to transfer power efficiently to the wheels. For RC buggy UK drivers who encounter variable terrain conditions—from dusty summer circuits to muddy winter tracks—the robustness of this metal housing provides peace of mind that your drivetrain will survive impacts, rollovers, and high-speed cornering forces that would otherwise damage plastic alternatives.

- Differential grease or gear oil as recommended in your DBXL E2.0 manual
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the VITAVON DBXL E2.0 differential case compatible with both standard and GAS versions? — This specific V2 model is designed for the DBXL E2.0 electric buggy platform. VITAVON also manufactures compatible options for the DBXL GAS variant, so if you own the petrol-powered version, please ensure you select the correct model for your buggy type.
- What makes this better than the standard plastic differential case? — The original LOSI differential case is constructed from reinforced plastic, which can crack, split, or develop play over time, especially with high-powered electric setups. This VITAVON aluminium housing offers dramatically improved durability, maintains tighter tolerances, reduces play in the drivetrain, and will outlast multiple plastic replacements, making it a cost-effective investment for serious RC enthusiasts.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — This is an upgrade component intended for owners who already have a LOSI DBXL E2.0 and wish to improve its performance and durability. If you're new to RC buggies, you would need to start with a complete vehicle. However, for those with basic mechanical knowledge who understand RC vehicle maintenance, installation is straightforward and the component adds value to your hobby experience.
- Can I fit this myself? — Yes, the installation of a replacement differential housing requires only basic mechanical knowledge and standard RC tools. If you're comfortable performing routine maintenance on your RC buggy, such as cleaning the drivetrain and adjusting suspension, you'll find fitting this component straightforward. The precision CNC manufacturing ensures perfect fitment without modification.
- What colour should I choose? — The default colour is Silver, which is available immediately. If you prefer Red or Black finishes, simply confirm your colour choice in reply to your order confirmation email. All three colours offer identical performance and durability—the choice is purely aesthetic.
- Does this improve handling? — By reducing play and looseness in the differential, this upgraded housing can improve power delivery consistency and handling precision, particularly noticeable during cornering when the differential is under load. The tighter tolerances help maintain more predictable traction control throughout a run.
- How long does the VITAVON differential case last? — With proper maintenance including regular cleaning and appropriate differential oil application, this alu7075 housing should provide many years of reliable service, vastly outlasting plastic alternatives that may need replacement after a season of heavy use.
