Key Features
- Stable Automatic Stacking Technology — This advanced manufacturing process enables Gens Ace to deliver consistent single-cell capacities of 8500mAh, ensuring that both cells in this 2S pack are perfectly matched for balanced performance and maximum reliability during high-discharge racing applications.
- Strictest Single-Cell Matching Process — Every cell in this battery undergoes the most rigorous capacity, voltage, resistance and discharge curve matching process, which means you get a battery that performs predictably lap after lap and doesn't fade under sustained racing loads.
- 140C Discharge Rating — This exceptional continuous discharge rate means the battery can deliver massive amounts of current without voltage sag, translating to snappier acceleration, more responsive steering, and better overall handling characteristics that make a real difference in competitive racing.
- HV Chemistry (7.6V Nominal) — High-voltage LiPo cells operate at a slightly higher voltage than standard chemistry, providing additional power output and mid-range punch that many serious racers prefer for stock and modified racing classes.
- Factory-Installed 5.0mm Bullet Connector — The standard 5mm bullet interface comes pre-installed, providing immediate compatibility with virtually all modern RC car ESCs and receivers used in UK racing, eliminating the need for custom soldering or connector adapters.
- Durable Hardcase Protection — The robust hard case design protects your valuable battery investment during transport to the track, storage in your pit box, and the inevitable bumps and knocks that come with competitive RC racing.
- High Energy Density — Specially optimised for RC car applications, this battery delivers exceptional power output relative to its weight, giving you the performance boost you're after without unnecessary bulk.
- Low Internal Resistance — The advanced cell technology maintains stable voltage delivery right through to the end of your race run, ensuring consistent performance even when you're pushing hard in the final minutes of competition.
Technical Performance
The Gens Ace Redline 2.0 Series represents cutting-edge LiPo battery engineering specifically tailored for competitive 1:10 scale touring cars and 1:8 GT platform racing. With a 7.6V nominal voltage across its 2S configuration, this battery operates at HV (high-voltage) chemistry, which means it delivers peak voltage of 8.4V when fully charged — considerably higher than standard 2S packs that top out at 8.2V. The 8500mAh capacity provides excellent runtime for extended practice sessions and competitive heats, whilst the 140C discharge rating ensures the battery can handle the sustained high-current demands of brushless motors in stock and modified racing classes. At approximately 305g, the weight is reasonable for a 2S hardcase pack of this capacity, and the compact dimensions of 138 x 46 x 24mm (approximately) make it suitable for most modern RC car battery trays. The engineering quality is evident in the meticulous cell matching process and stable automatic stacking technology that Gens Ace employs, which together ensure minimal resistance and maximum voltage stability under load. This is the kind of battery that experienced RC car racers specify when building competition setups, particularly for 1:10 stock platforms from manufacturers like Xray, TLR, Team Associated, Schumacher, Serpent and Kyosho, as well as 1:8 GTe classes where sustained power delivery directly impacts lap times.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Gens Ace 8500mAh 140C battery suitable for competitive RC car racing in the UK? — Yes, absolutely. This battery is specifically engineered for competitive racing applications and is used by serious racers across the UK. The 140C discharge rating and HV chemistry deliver the power output needed for stock and modified racing classes, whilst the strict cell matching ensures consistent performance lap after lap. This is definitely a race-grade battery rather than a casual basher pack.
- What is the difference between standard and HV chemistry in RC LiPo batteries? — HV (high-voltage) chemistry operates at a higher nominal voltage than standard LiPo cells. This 2S HV pack nominally runs at 7.6V (versus 7.4V for standard) and charges to approximately 8.4V fully charged (versus 8.2V for standard). The practical benefit is additional peak power output and better mid-range performance, which many racers prefer for competitive touring car racing.
- How long will the 8500mAh capacity last on a single charge? — Runtime depends on your specific motor, gearing, and driving style, but the 8500mAh capacity will typically provide 10-15 minutes of continuous high-performance racing under competitive conditions. This is a substantial capacity that minimises the need for multiple battery packs during practice sessions.
- Does this battery come with a charger? — No, the battery is supplied without a charger. You will need a quality LiPo charger capable of balancing 2S packs. We recommend a charger that supports balance charging to maintain cell health and maximise battery lifespan. Most modern hobby chargers will handle 2S LiPo packs without issue.
- What ESC and motor types work with this battery? — This battery is compatible with any brushless ESC featuring a standard 5.0mm bullet connector. The 140C discharge rating means it's suitable for high-powered brushless setups commonly used in 1:10 touring cars and 1:8 GT racing. Ensure your ESC is rated for 2S LiPo operation and can handle the current draw of your specific motor and gearing combination.
- How does the hardcase protection compare to soft-case batteries? — The hardcase provides superior physical protection during transport to the track, storage in your pit box, and general handling. This is particularly valuable for expensive race-grade batteries like this one, as the protection can significantly extend the battery's lifespan by preventing damage from impacts and pressure.
- What makes Gens Ace batteries reliable for racing? — Gens Ace employs industry-leading quality control, including the strictest single-cell capacity, voltage, resistance and discharge curve matching available. Additionally, their stable automatic stacking technology ensures perfectly matched cells. These aren't mass-produced budget batteries — they're engineered specifically for demanding racing applications where consistency is critical.
- Is this a good battery for 1:10 touring car racing? — Yes, this is an excellent choice for 1:10 stock touring car racing. The 8500mAh capacity provides ample runtime, the 140C discharge rate delivers impressive power, and the HV chemistry adds extra punch. Many serious UK racing competitors specify exactly this type of battery for competitive touring car platforms.
