Overview
The Axial Servo Horn Metal, 25T is a precision replacement component designed specifically for the SCX10 III Base Camp rock crawler. This metal servo horn represents an essential upgrade or replacement part for RC enthusiasts who demand enhanced durability and reliability in their scale RC vehicles. Whether you're maintaining your existing SCX10 III Base Camp or upgrading from plastic components, this metal servo horn delivers the robust construction needed for serious off-road crawling and technical terrain navigation. As a dedicated RC car UK enthusiast, you'll appreciate how quality servo horns directly impact steering precision and overall vehicle control during challenging rock crawling scenarios.
Metal servo horns are favoured by experienced RC modellers because they offer superior strength compared to their plastic counterparts, reducing the risk of damage during impacts or high-stress steering inputs. The SCX10 III Base Camp is renowned for its authentic scale appearance and capable suspension system, and using genuine Axial components ensures your vehicle maintains factory performance standards. This 25-tooth servo horn is engineered to work seamlessly with the SCX10 III Base Camp's steering system, providing reliable communication between your receiver and steering servo for precise directional control on rocky terrain, forest trails, and crawling courses.
For anyone serious about rock crawling with an RC model, component quality matters significantly. The Servo Horn Metal, 25T represents the kind of detailed attention to durability that separates casual hobbyists from dedicated rock crawling enthusiasts who want their vehicles to perform consistently across multiple outings.
Key Features
- Metal Construction — Made from robust metal material rather than plastic, this servo horn provides exceptional durability and resistance to damage from impacts, rocks, and the general wear and tear associated with off-road crawling and technical terrain work.
- 25-Tooth Spline Design — The 25-tooth configuration ensures secure, reliable engagement with your servo's output shaft, providing consistent steering response and eliminating slippage during demanding driving situations where precision steering input is critical.
- SCX10 III Base Camp Compatibility — This component is specifically engineered for the Axial SCX10 III Base Camp rock crawler, guaranteeing perfect fitment, correct geometry, and seamless integration with your vehicle's steering linkage and overall control system.
- Replacement or Upgrade Component — Whether you're replacing a damaged plastic horn or upgrading for improved durability, this genuine Axial part maintains factory specifications and performance characteristics that rock crawling enthusiasts rely upon.
- Enhanced Longevity — Metal construction extends the lifespan of your servo system compared to plastic alternatives, reducing the frequency of component replacement and ensuring your RC crawler remains competition-ready or hobby-ready for longer periods between maintenance.
Technical Performance
The Servo Horn Metal, 25T is precision-engineered from metal materials to withstand the demanding requirements of scale rock crawling with the SCX10 III Base Camp. Metal construction fundamentally changes the performance profile compared to standard plastic servo horns; whilst plastic horns are lighter, metal horns provide the structural integrity needed when navigating challenging terrain, executing precise steering manoeuvres over rocks and logs, or recovering from impacts. The 25-tooth spline design represents the standard servo output configuration for most modern RC servo systems, ensuring compatibility with the SCX10 III Base Camp's OEM steering servo. In practical terms, this means you're getting a component that maintains the exact steering geometry and response characteristics your vehicle was engineered with from the factory. The metal construction also provides superior torque transfer capability, meaning that every steering input from your receiver translates more reliably into actual wheel movement, critical for technical crawling situations where precise steering control makes the difference between clearing an obstacle and getting stuck. For rock crawling enthusiasts who push their vehicles through realistic terrain with rocks, roots, and challenging gradients, component reliability directly impacts whether your crawler completes the course successfully.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Axial Servo Horn Metal, 25T suitable for beginners with the SCX10 III Base Camp? — Yes, this component is suitable for modellers of all experience levels. Whether you're learning RC rock crawling basics or you're an experienced competitor, this replacement servo horn maintains factory performance standards. Beginners benefit from the durability and reliability of metal construction, which reduces the likelihood of servo horn damage during learning phases when impacts are more common.
- What is the difference between this metal servo horn and a plastic one? — Metal servo horns offer significantly greater durability, resistance to damage, and longevity compared to plastic alternatives. Plastic horns can crack or shatter on impact, whilst metal construction resists deformation and damage from rocks, terrain impacts, and the stresses of demanding crawling. For serious RC crawling enthusiasts, metal is the preferred material for servo components.
- Will this servo horn work with my SCX10 III Base Camp? — This component is specifically designed for the Axial SCX10 III Base Camp and ensures perfect fitment, correct steering geometry, and seamless integration with your vehicle's steering system. Always verify your specific model version to ensure compatibility with your exact vehicle configuration.
- Why would I need to replace my servo horn? — Servo horns can wear out, crack, or become damaged through impacts with rocks or terrain obstacles. If you notice steering response degradation, unusual servo movement, or visible damage to your existing horn, replacement with this genuine Axial component restores factory performance and reliability.
- Is this an official Axial component? — Yes, this is a genuine Axial manufactured component (model Z-AXI-2064) designed to exact specifications for the SCX10 III Base Camp, ensuring authentic performance and compatibility with your rock crawler.
