Whether you're running a Mini Kraton, Mojave Grom, or Typhon Grom, this precision-engineered pinion gear is designed to deliver reliable performance in extreme RC conditions. As a dedicated RC hobbyist in the UK, you'll appreciate having quality replacement parts on hand to keep your RC car UK-ready for every bash session or competition.
This tough steel pinion gear serves as a direct replacement for your original kit item, making it the perfect upgrade or spare for any ARRMA enthusiast. The 21-tooth configuration provides balanced performance across a range of driving conditions, from casual weekend bashing to more demanding track sessions. With CNC precision manufacturing and a robust steel construction, this pinion gear represents excellent value for maintaining your brushless RC vehicle in peak condition.
ARRMA is renowned for engineering high-performance RC components that withstand the rigours of real-world driving. This 21T MOD 0.5 pinion gear exemplifies that commitment to quality, offering RC car UK buyers the confidence that their drivetrain will perform consistently and reliably, regardless of the challenge ahead.
Key Features
- Strong and durable steel construction — The gear is manufactured from high-quality steel that resists wear and damage during extreme RC driving conditions, ensuring longevity and reliable performance even in punishing bash sessions or competition environments.
- Precision manufactured tooth profile — Every tooth is engineered with exacting precision to ensure smooth, quiet operation and consistent power delivery to your motor, reducing stress on drivetrain components and extending the lifespan of your entire RC setup.
- CNC engineered design — Computer numerical control manufacturing guarantees tight tolerances and absolute consistency between individual gears, eliminating variability and ensuring perfectly meshed engagement with your motor pinion every single time.
- Precision manufactured set screw hole — The M3 x 4mm set screw hole is machined to exact specifications, ensuring your pinion gear sits securely on the motor shaft without wobbling or slipping during high-torque acceleration or aggressive cornering.
- 3.2mm motor shaft compatibility — This gear is engineered specifically for motors with a 3.2mm shaft diameter, providing a secure fit that prevents slippage and maintains consistent gear mesh alignment throughout your RC driving sessions.
- MOD 0.5 gear pitch — The MOD 0.5 specification denotes the gear module, which determines how the teeth mesh with your spur gear; this standard pitch ensures compatibility with ARRMA's extensive range of drivetrain components and allows for future upgrades.
- Includes set screw — Each purchase includes a genuine M3 x 4mm set screw, eliminating the frustration of searching for the correct fastener and ensuring you have everything needed for immediate installation on your RC car.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Pinion Gear 21T MOD 0.5 CNC 3.2mm Bore represents a significant upgrade over standard stamped or forged pinion gears commonly found in budget RC models. The CNC manufacturing process creates a gear with superior tooth geometry, ensuring minimal backlash and maximum power transfer efficiency from your brushless motor to the drivetrain. This is particularly important when running high-performance 3S LiPo-powered ARRMA vehicles, where the torque demands placed on the drivetrain are substantial. The 21-tooth configuration provides an excellent balance between acceleration and top-end speed, making it versatile enough for both speed runs and technical driving. The robust steel construction is engineered to withstand the shock loads generated during hard cornering, jumps, and aggressive acceleration typical of RC car UK enthusiasts who push their vehicles to the limit. With a precision-engineered 3.2mm bore and matching set screw hole, installation is straightforward and secure, ensuring the gear remains perfectly centred on your motor shaft during operation. This pinion gear is designed as a direct replacement for original ARRMA kit items, maintaining the factory design parameters whilst offering the enhanced durability and precision of aftermarket engineering.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this pinion gear suitable for my ARRMA RC model? — This 21T MOD 0.5 pinion gear is specifically engineered as a direct replacement for ARRMA 1/16 Mini Kraton, 1/16 Mojave Grom, and 1/14 Typhon Grom models. Check your vehicle's model number against the compatibility list provided to confirm compatibility before ordering.
- What is the difference between different tooth counts like 17T, 18T, 19T, 21T, 23T and 24T? — The number of teeth directly affects your vehicle's gearing ratio and performance characteristics. Lower tooth counts (17T, 18T) provide faster acceleration and higher top speed but demand more from your motor and ESC. Higher tooth counts (23T, 24T) offer lower top speed but smoother acceleration and reduced strain on components. The 21T configuration represents a balanced middle ground, making it ideal for general-purpose driving across a variety of terrain and conditions.
- Why is precision CNC manufacturing important in a pinion gear? — CNC machining ensures every gear is manufactured to exact specifications with minimal variation between individual units. This precision creates perfect tooth geometry, reducing vibration, noise, and backlash in your drivetrain. Poor-quality pinion gears with imprecise teeth can cause grinding, slipping, and premature wear on both the pinion and spur gear, ultimately costing you more in replacements and repairs.
- What is MOD 0.5 and why does it matter? — MOD (module) refers to the gear pitch standard, which determines how teeth mesh together. MOD 0.5 is the standard specification for 1/10 and smaller-scale RC vehicles, including ARRMA's 1/16 and 1/14 models. Using the correct MOD ensures proper engagement with your spur gear, preventing tooth skipping and ensuring efficient power transfer.
- Will this pinion gear fit my 3.2mm motor shaft? — Yes, this gear is specifically designed with a 3.2mm bore for 3.2mm diameter motor shafts. The included M3 x 4mm set screw secures the gear firmly in place, preventing rotation and ensuring consistent operation throughout your driving sessions.
- Is this a suitable upgrade from my original pinion gear? — Absolutely. The CNC precision manufacturing and high-quality steel construction represent a measurable upgrade over many original kit pinion gears. You'll notice smoother operation, reduced noise, improved efficiency, and longer service life. For RC car UK enthusiasts looking to enhance their vehicle's drivetrain durability, this is an excellent investment.
- How often will I need to replace this pinion gear? — With proper maintenance and correct mesh adjustment, a quality CNC pinion gear can deliver thousands of kilometres of reliable service. Replacement frequency depends on your driving intensity and conditions. Regular inspection is recommended, particularly after hard bashing sessions, to check for tooth wear or damage.
