Overview

The ARRMA Shock Springs, 80mm 0.402N/mm (2.30lb/in) are essential suspension components designed specifically for ARRMA 1/10 scale RC vehicles in the UK market. These precision-engineered shock springs are critical to maintaining optimal suspension performance, whether you're running a Fury short course truck, Vorteks stadium truck, or another compatible ARRMA model. As a UK RC enthusiast, choosing the right suspension components is fundamental to achieving consistent handling, improved traction, and better overall control of your RC car during high-speed runs or competitive racing.

ARRMA has selected these shock springs to deliver the perfect balance of performance and durability for their range of 1/10 scale vehicles. The 80mm length and 0.402N/mm (2.30lb/in) spring rate specification makes these springs ideal for drivers seeking reliable suspension tuning options. Whether you're upgrading your existing setup, replacing worn components, or experimenting with suspension geometry for better performance, these shock springs provide the quality and consistency that ARRMA vehicles demand.

Supplied as a pair, these shock springs are ready to install and offer a straightforward way to maintain or improve your RC car's suspension characteristics. For anyone serious about RC driving in the UK, understanding suspension components like shock springs is vital to unlocking your vehicle's potential on the track, in the field, or at the skate park.

Key Features

  • Strong and durable spring steel construction — These shock springs are manufactured from high-quality spring steel, providing the strength and resilience needed for long-lasting, consistent performance across numerous runs and competitive sessions without degradation or loss of spring rate.
  • Precision manufactured design — Each spring is engineered to exacting tolerances, ensuring fast and easy fitment to your ARRMA shock absorbers with minimal hassle, and guaranteeing consistent performance across the pair supplied.
  • 80mm length specification — The 80mm dimension is optimised for ARRMA 1/10 scale vehicles, providing the correct suspension geometry and travel range required for these models to perform at their best.
  • 0.402N/mm spring rate — This medium spring rate (equivalent to 2.30lb/in) strikes an excellent balance between comfort and responsiveness, making it suitable for both general recreational driving and more serious competition use on various terrain types.
  • Supplied as a pair — You receive two springs, providing the matched set needed for proper suspension function across the front or rear axles of your ARRMA vehicle.
  • Compatible with multiple ARRMA models — These springs are standard or optional parts across a range of ARRMA 1/10 2WD and brushless RTR vehicles, including the Fury and Vorteks series, making them a versatile upgrade or replacement choice.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Shock Springs represent professional-grade suspension tuning components engineered with precision manufacturing standards. With a spring rate of 0.402N/mm (2.30lb/in), these springs provide moderate resistance that works effectively across various driving conditions and terrain types. The 80mm length is specifically calibrated for ARRMA 1/10 scale vehicles, ensuring proper shock absorber geometry and suspension travel. The use of strong spring steel ensures that these springs maintain their rate consistency through countless cycles and impacts, preventing the common problem of spring softening that occurs with inferior materials. For UK RC car enthusiasts running everything from brushless Fury models to brushed entry-level variants, these springs deliver the predictable and reliable suspension response necessary for achieving competitive lap times or simply enjoying consistent handling characteristics. The precision manufacturing means minimal friction and wear points where springs contact shock bodies, extending the lifespan of your entire suspension assembly and reducing the need for frequent replacements or maintenance adjustments.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What ARRMA RC vehicles are these shock springs compatible with? — These springs are standard or optional parts for several ARRMA 1/10 scale models including the FURY 223S DSC 2WD RTR Brushless Short Course Truck, FURY 2WD RTR Brushed Short Course Truck, VORTEKS 223S DSC 2WD RTR Brushless Stadium Truck, and VORTEKS 2WD RTR Brushed Stadium Truck, whether supplied with or without battery and charger packages.
  • How do I know if I need to replace my shock springs? — You should consider replacing shock springs if you notice sagging suspension geometry, reduced suspension travel, inconsistent handling, or visible damage to the springs themselves. Even if not visibly damaged, springs can lose their rate over time through normal use, making replacement a worthwhile maintenance task for competitive drivers.
  • Will these springs fit my RC car immediately after purchase? — Yes, these springs are precision manufactured for fast and easy fitment, allowing you to install them quickly into your shock absorbers without requiring any modifications or special tools beyond basic RC car maintenance equipment.
  • What is the difference between 0.402N/mm and other spring rates? — Spring rate is measured in Newtons per millimetre (N/mm) and represents how much force is required to compress the spring by one millimetre. A 0.402N/mm rate is considered medium-soft, providing good bump absorption and compliance while still offering adequate support. Stiffer rates (higher numbers) compress less easily and work better on smooth tracks, whilst softer rates (lower numbers) provide more suspension travel and comfort on rough terrain.
  • Are these suitable for both recreational and competitive RC driving? — Yes, the 0.402N/mm spring rate offers excellent versatility, working well for general recreational driving where comfort and compliance are valued, whilst also providing the responsiveness and consistency needed for competitive racing applications on various surface types.
  • How many shock springs do I need? — You typically need four springs total for a complete RC car (two front, two rear), so one pair of these springs covers either the front or rear suspension. You may wish to purchase multiple pairs if upgrading the entire vehicle or maintaining spares.
