Overview
The Radient 8.0mm Gold Connector Pairs including Heat Shrink (5 pcs) are an essential accessory for anyone serious about maintaining neat, professional-quality wiring in their RC models. Whether you're building a custom RC car in the UK, upgrading your RC buggy electronics, or simply replacing worn connectors on your existing setup, these gold-plated connectors deliver reliable performance and a tidy finish every time. Designed for hobbyists aged 14 and over, this compact 5-piece set provides excellent value and ensures your RC vehicle's electrical connections remain secure and corrosion-resistant for years to come.
Gold connectors are the industry standard choice for RC enthusiasts because they offer superior electrical conductivity compared to standard nickel-plated alternatives. The 8.0mm connector size makes these perfectly suited for mid-range to larger RC applications, from 1/10 scale RC trucks and buggies through to heavier RC crawlers and trail vehicles. Each pair comes complete with heat shrink tubing, meaning you can solder the connections and immediately finish them off with a professional appearance. This eliminates exposed solder joints and provides additional mechanical protection to your wiring, which is particularly important if you're regularly bashing your RC model through demanding terrain.
As a UK RC hobbyist, you'll appreciate having a spare set of quality connectors on hand. Over time, connectors can become loose, corroded, or damaged through heavy use, and having genuine Radient replacements ready means you can get back on the track or trail without delay. The gold finish ensures minimal resistance at the connection point, which is crucial for maintaining battery voltage delivery to your motor and ESC, ultimately helping to preserve the performance and longevity of your RC investment.
Key Features
- 8.0mm Connector Size — The 8.0mm specification is a popular standard across many mid-range and larger RC vehicles, making these connectors compatible with a wide range of RC cars, buggies, trucks and crawlers available in the UK market today.
- Gold-Plated Finish — Gold plating provides superior electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance compared to standard nickel plating, ensuring reliable power delivery to your motor and ESC even after extended use or exposure to moisture during outdoor RC sessions.
- Included Heat Shrink Tubing — Each connector pair arrives with matching heat shrink sleeves, allowing you to finish your soldered connections professionally and protect exposed joint areas from moisture and physical damage.
- 5-Piece Pack Size — With five complete connector pairs included, you have plenty of spares for repairs, upgrades, or spare builds, making this an economical choice compared to purchasing individual connector sets.
- Suitable for Ages 14+ — Designed with safety in mind, these connectors are appropriate for teenage and adult RC enthusiasts with basic soldering skills and electrical knowledge.
- Compact and Lightweight — At just 0.03kg shipping weight, this set takes up minimal space in your RC toolkit and won't add noticeable weight to your project.
Technical Performance
The Radient 8.0mm Gold Connector Pairs deliver the reliable electrical performance that serious RC hobbyists demand. Gold-plated connectors are engineered to minimise contact resistance at the connection point, which is critical when powering brushless motors, ESCs and battery systems in modern RC vehicles. The construction ensures a secure, snug fit that won't loosen during aggressive driving or high-vibration situations common in RC racing and bashing. The included heat shrink tubing is engineered to provide a tight seal around the soldered joint once heated, creating a weatherproof barrier that protects against moisture ingress and helps prevent accidental short circuits. This is particularly important if you're using your RC vehicle in damp conditions or near water features, as water contamination can rapidly degrade electrical connections and cause performance loss. The 8.0mm size has become an industry-standard specification across numerous RC manufacturers, meaning these connectors will integrate seamlessly with most mid-scale and larger RC platforms. Whether you're building a custom RC truck setup, upgrading a stock RC buggy, or maintaining an existing RC crawler, these connectors provide the quality and reliability you expect from Radient, a respected name in RC electrical components.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between 8.0mm gold connectors and standard nickel-plated connectors? — Gold-plated connectors offer superior electrical conductivity and significantly better corrosion resistance compared to nickel alternatives. This means less voltage drop through the connection, better power delivery to your motor, and longer connector lifespan, particularly if you use your RC vehicle in wet conditions or leave it unused for periods. For serious RC enthusiasts in the UK, gold connectors are the professional choice.
- Do I need soldering experience to use these connectors? — Yes, basic soldering skills are required to attach wires to these connectors. You'll need a soldering iron, solder, and familiarity with creating solid electrical joints. Once soldered, you heat-shrink the included tubing to insulate and protect the joint. If you're new to soldering, many RC hobby shops in the UK offer soldering guides or can help you learn this essential skill.
- Are these connectors compatible with my RC car? — The 8.0mm size is widely used across RC vehicles including 1/10 and 1/8 scale buggies, trucks, and crawlers. However, always check your specific vehicle's connector specification before purchasing. Some smaller RC cars use XT60 or XT90 connectors instead, whilst some larger models may use different sizes.
- How many connector pairs do I actually get? — You receive 5 complete pairs (10 individual male and female connectors total), plus heat shrink tubing for all of them. This provides excellent value and gives you spare connectors for replacements or future projects.
- Can I use these connectors if I'm a beginner RC enthusiast? — These connectors are rated for ages 14+. If you have basic soldering experience or access to someone who can help, they're definitely suitable. Many UK RC clubs and hobby shops offer soldering workshops for beginners, which would equip you to use these connectors confidently.
- What makes Radient connectors a good choice for UK RC hobbyists? — Radient is a trusted manufacturer of RC electrical components, known for quality construction and reliability. Gold connectors from reputable manufacturers like Radient ensure your RC vehicle receives consistent power delivery and long connector lifespan, which are critical factors whether you're racing competitively or bashing for fun.
