Overview
The Blade Foam Blade Holder (BLH-1674) is an essential storage and organisation accessory for RC helicopter enthusiasts across the UK. Whether you're a seasoned pilot maintaining a fleet of models or a hobbyist enjoying casual weekend flying, this simple yet effective foam blade holder offers a practical solution for keeping your precious rotor blades safe, secure and in perfect condition when your model is not in use. Designed as a genuine Blade part, this lightweight foam accessory represents thoughtful engineering from a brand recognised for quality RC helicopter components and spare parts.
For anyone investing in quality RC helicopter equipment, protecting your blades from damage during storage, transport and bench work is crucial. Rotor blades are expensive components that require careful handling, and accidental contact with workbenches, tool boxes or transport containers can cause costly scratches, dents or cracks. The Foam Blade Holder eliminates these risks by providing a dedicated, protective home for your blades. Its foam construction is gentle on blade surfaces whilst remaining firm enough to keep them organised and prevent unwanted movement.
This is an indispensable accessory for anyone serious about RC helicopter maintenance and care. Whether you're storing your Blade helicopter for the winter months, transporting it to a flying field, or simply tidying up your workbench between flights, the Foam Blade Holder keeps your rotor blades together, organised and protected from scuffs, dust and accidental damage. It's the kind of simple accessory that RC enthusiasts across the UK often wish they'd bought sooner.
Key Features
- Lightweight Foam Construction — Made from durable foam material, the blade holder weighs almost nothing whilst providing excellent protection for your rotor blades. The foam material is gentle on blade surfaces and won't cause scratches or marks, making it ideal for storing finished or painted blades.
- Holds Blades Secure and Organised — The holder is designed to grip multiple blades together, reducing movement during storage and transport. This prevents blades from shifting around in your toolbox or storage cabinet, which could cause them to collide with other equipment or become bent.
- Reduces Risk of Scuffs and Damage — By keeping blades held together in a dedicated foam holder rather than loose in a drawer or tool bag, you significantly minimise the risk of accidental damage. No more worrying about blade tips being crushed under other items or scraped against metal surfaces.
- Simple, Effective Design — This is not an over-engineered solution; it's a straightforward, practical accessory that does exactly what it promises. No complicated assembly, no electronic components, just effective blade protection that works every time.
- Genuine Blade Part — As an official Blade component rather than a third-party imitation, you can trust the quality and compatibility of this holder with your RC helicopter models and blade sets.
- Tidy Solution for Bench Work — When you're working on your RC helicopter model, whether replacing blades, performing maintenance or preparing for a flying session, the Foam Blade Holder keeps your rotor blades organised and easily accessible on your workbench.
Technical Performance
The BLH-1674 is engineered with simplicity and effectiveness as its core design philosophy. Constructed from lightweight foam material, it provides the perfect balance between protection and practicality. The foam is dense enough to hold blades securely in place without excessive compression, yet soft enough to prevent any marking or damage to blade surfaces. This makes it suitable for protecting finished blades with paint or decals, as well as bare composite or metal blade edges. The holder's straightforward design means there are no moving parts to break, no batteries to replace and no learning curve — simply place your blades into the foam holder and they're protected. The foam material is resistant to dust accumulation and easy to clean if required. Whether you're storing a single set of spare blades or organising multiple blade sets for different helicopter configurations, this holder provides reliable protection in your RC model storage area, workshop or transport case. The lightweight nature means it adds virtually no weight to your RC helicopter bag or storage box, making it practical for field trips and flying sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Blade Foam Blade Holder suitable for all RC helicopter blade types? — Yes, the foam holder is designed to accommodate standard helicopter rotor blades from Blade and compatible models. The foam construction is gentle on all blade materials including composite, metal and finished painted blades, making it a universal solution for blade storage and protection.
- How does this compare to just wrapping blades in cloth or storing them loosely? — The dedicated foam holder offers significant advantages over improvised storage methods. Unlike cloth wrapping which can come loose, or loose storage which allows blade movement and collision with other items, the foam holder keeps blades securely held together in a compact, organised package that prevents scuffs, bending and accidental damage.
- Is this necessary if I already have a protective carrying case for my RC helicopter? — The Foam Blade Holder is particularly useful as an additional layer of protection within your carrying case or storage box. Even when your helicopter is stored in a case, having rotor blades held securely in the foam holder prevents them from shifting around during transport or storage, and keeps them separated from other components that might cause damage.
- Can I use this holder for transporting blades in my RC model bag to the flying field? — Absolutely. The lightweight design and compact size make it perfect for transporting blade sets in your RC hobby bag. The foam holder keeps blades protected and organised during vehicle journeys to RC clubs or flying locations, preventing any movement or contact with tools and spare parts.
- How do I store the Foam Blade Holder when not in use? — The holder is so lightweight and compact that you can store it right alongside your helicopter in your storage cabinet or carrying case. Many UK RC helicopter enthusiasts keep their blade holder as a permanent part of their model storage setup, ready to protect blades whenever needed.
- Is this a genuine Blade product? — Yes, the BLH-1674 is an official Blade spare part manufactured to the brand's quality standards. By purchasing a genuine component from RC Model Shop, you're getting authentic Blade engineering and compatibility assurance.
