Overview

The Blade BLH-1673 Tail Drive Pulley 18T is an essential hardware spare component designed for maintaining and servicing the tail drive system on high-performance RC helicopters. This 18-tooth pulley is specifically engineered for the Blade Fusion 700, one of the most popular intermediate to advanced RC helicopters available in the UK market. Whether you're an experienced RC pilot looking to perform routine maintenance on your fleet or someone discovering the world of RC helicopters for the first time, having quality replacement parts readily available ensures your model stays in peak operating condition and minimises downtime between flights.

Tail drive systems are critical to helicopter performance, as they control the tail rotor and maintain directional stability during flight. Over time, the drivetrain components including pulleys can experience wear from regular use, vibration and the stresses of flight operations. The BLH-1673 provides a straightforward replacement solution when refreshing worn components, allowing you to restore your Fusion 700 to factory specifications and maintain the smooth, consistent tail operation that RC helicopter enthusiasts demand. This spare part is a practical and cost-effective addition to any RC helicopter pilot's maintenance kit, helping you keep your investment flying reliably for years to come.

At RC Model Shop, we stock authentic Blade parts and accessories to support pilots across the UK who are passionate about RC helicopters. Whether you're based in the Midlands, the South, the North, or anywhere else in the country, ordering genuine spares online ensures you have access to quality components that meet manufacturer specifications and maintain the performance characteristics of your model.

Key Features

  • 18-Tooth Pulley Design — The precisely engineered 18-tooth configuration is optimised for the Blade Fusion 700's tail drive transmission, providing the exact gear ratio and mechanical advantage needed for reliable tail rotor operation and directional control during flight.
  • Hardware Spare Classification — As a classified hardware spare, this pulley is a genuine replacement part engineered to exact specifications, ensuring perfect fitment and compatibility with your Fusion 700 without modification or adjustment required.
  • Routine Maintenance Support — Designed specifically for scheduled maintenance and repairs, this pulley helps you perform preventative upkeep on your helicopter's drivetrain, reducing the risk of mid-flight failures caused by worn components.
  • Efficient Drivetrain Refresh — When you replace worn pulleys as part of a comprehensive drivetrain service, you restore smooth operation and eliminate the jerky or inconsistent tail response that can develop in older systems, improving overall flight handling and safety.
  • Authentic Blade Component — This is a genuine Blade manufacturing part, not an aftermarket alternative, guaranteeing that you're installing the exact component your helicopter was designed to use and maintaining warranty compliance and performance standards.

Technical Performance

The Blade BLH-1673 Tail Drive Pulley represents precision engineering in RC helicopter drivetrain technology. The 18-tooth configuration is calculated to work within the specific mechanical advantages and rotational speeds required by the Fusion 700's tail drive system. Pulleys in RC helicopter applications must tolerate significant rotational stress, vibration and the constant demands of stabilising the tail rotor during aggressive manoeuvres, altitude changes and wind conditions. The hardware pulley is manufactured to withstand these stresses whilst maintaining precise tooth engagement with its corresponding drive belt or chain components. Over extended periods of use — particularly in active flying schedules involving multiple flights per week or competition-level operations — pulley teeth can gradually wear, developing flat spots or slight damage that compromises the smoothness of power transmission. By replacing the pulley during your scheduled maintenance intervals, you prevent the degradation that leads to slipping, belt wear and ultimately poor tail control response. This replacement pulley is engineered as a standard fitment, meaning it installs without additional modifications, spacers or adjustments. The precision machining ensures that tooth engagement, rotational balance and mechanical tolerances are identical to the original component, guaranteeing that your tail drive system performs exactly as Blade designed it to perform.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the BLH-1673 suitable for my Blade Fusion 700 RC helicopter? — Yes, the BLH-1673 is specifically designed for the Blade Fusion 700 and represents the exact replacement pulley for that model. It is a standard fitment that requires no modifications and installs directly into your helicopter's tail drive system.
  • When should I replace the tail drive pulley on my RC helicopter? — You should inspect your pulley during routine maintenance, typically every 50-100 flights depending on your flying intensity and conditions. If you notice flat spots on the teeth, visible wear, or if your helicopter develops inconsistent tail response or drifting, the pulley should be replaced immediately. Replacing the pulley as part of scheduled drivetrain service helps prevent these issues from developing.
  • Do I need any special tools to install this pulley? — The BLH-1673 is engineered as a standard fitment for the Fusion 700, meaning it should install using the same tools and methods as removing the worn pulley. Consult your Fusion 700 manual for specific installation instructions, or contact our knowledgeable team at RC Model Shop for guidance on the installation process.
  • What is the difference between this 18T pulley and other pulley options? — The 18-tooth configuration is the original specification for the Blade Fusion 700's tail drive system. This tooth count determines the gear ratio and mechanical advantage in your tail rotor drive. Using the correct 18T pulley ensures you maintain the performance and handling characteristics your helicopter was designed to deliver, including proper tail responsiveness and control authority.
  • Why should I replace drivetrain components like this pulley before they fail completely? — Preventative maintenance is far more cost-effective than repairing an RC helicopter after component failure. A worn pulley can cause belt damage, stressing other components and potentially leading to mid-flight failures. Replacing the pulley during routine service ensures your helicopter remains reliable and keeps you flying rather than spending time and money on repairs.
