Key Features
- Precision manufactured for perfect fit — Each heatsink is manufactured to exact specifications, guaranteeing it will fit seamlessly onto your 380 sized motor without gaps or misalignment, eliminating fitment issues and ensuring optimal contact for heat transfer.
- High-quality lightweight aluminium construction — The heatsink is constructed from premium grade aluminium material that combines excellent thermal conductivity with minimal weight addition, so your RC model maintains its performance characteristics whilst gaining superior cooling.
- Multi-fin design for efficient heat transfer — The carefully engineered fin layout dramatically increases the surface area available for heat dissipation, allowing ambient air to flow across more cooling surface and significantly reducing motor operating temperature during demanding driving conditions.
- Black anodised finish with etched ARRMA logo — Beyond its functional cooling benefits, the heatsink features a professional black anodised finish with an etched ARRMA logo, giving your RC model a premium appearance whilst the anodised coating provides additional corrosion protection in the UK's varied climate conditions.
- Compatible with multiple ARRMA platforms — This Type C heatsink is specifically engineered to work with a comprehensive range of ARRMA 1/16 and small-scale RC models, including the MOJAVE GROM 223S BLX variants and MOJAVE GROM MEGA 380 models, making it a versatile upgrade option for ARRMA enthusiasts.
- Enhanced motor longevity — By actively cooling your motor and preventing thermal stress, this heatsink extends the operational lifespan of your motor, protecting your investment and reducing the need for premature replacement of expensive components.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Motor Heatsink Type C: GROM is engineered with advanced thermal management principles at its core. Designed specifically for 380 sized motors—the brushed power units featured in popular ARRMA small-scale RC vehicles—this heatsink addresses one of the critical performance factors in extended driving sessions. Motor temperature is a crucial variable that affects both performance and component longevity; when motors reach excessive temperatures, they experience thermal throttling, which reduces power output and responsiveness. The multi-fin design philosophy employed in this heatsink maximises surface area, allowing convective cooling to occur more efficiently as your RC car UK moves through the air. The lightweight aluminium construction ensures that whilst thermal performance is significantly enhanced, the weight penalty is negligible, meaning your vehicle's acceleration, handling, and overall dynamics remain unaffected. The black anodised finish not only provides an aesthetically pleasing appearance that matches ARRMA's design language but also offers enhanced corrosion resistance, which is particularly important for RC enthusiasts in the UK where weather conditions can be variable. Installation is straightforward on any compatible ARRMA platform, making this an accessible upgrade suitable for both experienced modifiers and users new to RC customisation. The precision manufacture ensures no gaps or loose tolerances that might compromise thermal contact, guaranteeing that heat dissipation is as efficient as possible during high-performance driving scenarios.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What motors is this heatsink compatible with? — The ARRMA Motor Heatsink Type C: GROM is specifically designed for 380 sized motors. If you are uncertain whether your RC model uses a 380 sized motor, check your vehicle's specifications or contact our knowledgeable team at RC Model Shop, who can confirm compatibility with your particular ARRMA model.
- Which ARRMA models can use this heatsink? — This Type C heatsink is compatible with the 1/16 MOJAVE GROM 223S BLX 4X4 DT (all colour variants), the 1/16 MOJAVE GROM MEGA 380 Brushed 4X4 models, and the 1/16 ARRMA MOJAVE GROM 4x4 RTA Race Kit. If you own a different ARRMA model, please verify specifications before ordering to ensure compatibility.
- How much does the heatsink weigh? — Whilst specific weight specifications were not detailed in the product documentation, the heatsink is constructed from lightweight aluminium specifically chosen to provide excellent thermal performance without adding significant mass to your RC model.
- Will this heatsink improve my RC car's performance? — Yes, the heatsink will help maintain optimal motor temperature during extended driving sessions, which prevents thermal throttling and allows your motor to maintain consistent power output. This translates to more reliable acceleration and responsiveness throughout your driving experience, particularly during intense bashings or competitive racing on UK tracks.
- Is installation difficult? — No, the heatsink is precision manufactured for a perfect fit on compatible motors, making installation straightforward. It is designed as a bolt-on accessory that requires minimal tools and can be completed by users with basic RC technical knowledge.
- What is the difference between the Type C and other ARRMA heatsink models? — ARRMA manufactures several heatsink variants, including the Type D and Type E models, which are designed for different motor sizes and RC platforms. The Type C is specifically engineered for 380 sized motors commonly found in small-scale ARRMA models. Selecting the correct heatsink type ensures optimal fit and thermal performance for your specific vehicle.
- Can I use this heatsink to repair my existing motor? — This heatsink is designed as a preventative thermal management accessory rather than a repair component. If your motor has failed, you may need a replacement motor rather than a heatsink. However, adding a heatsink to a new motor installation will help prevent future overheating issues.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. Whilst thermal management might sound technical, the heatsink is user-friendly and requires no complex installation. Beginners to RC in the UK will find that adding a heatsink to their model is one of the most straightforward and beneficial upgrades available, offering immediate benefits in terms of motor reliability and consistent performance.
