This is a helicopter that's been designed from the ground up with both beginners and experienced flyers in mind, thanks to its intelligent flight stabilisation systems and intuitive control architecture.
Unlike traditional RC helicopters, the Blade InFusion 120 employs a revolutionary direct-drive power system where no gears drive the main rotor, resulting in instant throttle response, lower mechanical complexity, and fewer parts that could potentially break. This oversized direct-drive design is a game-changer for the RC helicopter enthusiast in the UK market, offering a refreshing alternative to conventional geared designs. When you're shopping for a ready-to-run RC helicopter online or in a hobby shop, you'll find that the InFusion 120 stands out for its combination of cutting-edge engineering, pre-assembled convenience, and the comprehensive stabilisation technology that Blade is famous for worldwide.
The helicopter comes fully assembled straight from the box—there's absolutely no building required. You simply bind it to your compatible Spektrum DSMX or DSM2 six-channel transmitter, install a suitable LiPo battery and charger, and you're ready to experience some of the most responsive and capable helicopter flying available at this scale and weight. The InFusion 120 BNF Basic variant includes both AS3X and SAFE flight stabilisation technology, giving you the option to use either system depending on your flying style and experience level.
Key Features
- Fully Assembled Ready-to-Fly Design — The helicopter arrives completely assembled with zero building required, which means you can get airborne much faster than with kit-based alternatives. This is perfect for customers who want the satisfaction of flying without the time investment in construction and setup, making it ideal for busy RC enthusiasts across the UK who want to maximise their flight time.
- Direct-Drive Power System with Brushless Motors — Instead of using traditional geared designs, the InFusion 120 features brushless outrunner motors driving both the main rotor and tail directly, with no intermediate gearbox. This innovative approach delivers instant power response, requires fewer moving parts that could break, and simplifies the entire mechanical design. You get reactive, immediate thrust control that gives you confidence when manoeuvring through aggressive flight sequences.
- AS3X Stabilisation Technology — This advanced system continuously smooths out the natural effects of wind and air turbulence without imposing any limitations on your control inputs. Whether you want to fly basic hover manoeuvres or progress into unlimited 3D aerobatic capability, AS3X works invisibly in the background to give you rock-solid stability while preserving your full control authority. This means you can focus on learning flying skills rather than fighting environmental conditions.
- Optional-Use SAFE Technology with Panic Recovery — SAFE technology introduces automatic self-leveling capabilities specifically designed to make flying a collective pitch helicopter significantly easier and more forgiving. If things go wrong, a single button press or switch activation triggers panic recovery, which instantly brings the helicopter back to level flight attitude. This is an invaluable safety net for newer pilots and a helpful feature even for experienced flyers in challenging wind conditions.
- Progressive Flight Modes — The system offers multiple flight modes that allow you to grow with this helicopter as you develop your collective pitch flying skills. You can start with more assistance and gradually transition to more challenging flight modes as your confidence and ability increase, creating a genuine progression path from absolute beginner to advanced 3D pilot.
- Smart Technology with Telemetry Feedback — Compatible Spektrum transmitters receive valuable telemetry data directly from the helicopter, including battery voltage, signal strength, and system diagnostics. This real-time feedback keeps you informed about your helicopter's status and helps you manage battery life safely throughout your flying sessions.
- Long Throw Linear Servos — The servos fitted to the InFusion 120 are engineered to be nearly indestructible with fast and precise control response, delivering smooth cyclic and collective pitch control inputs. These high-quality components ensure your control movements are translated accurately and immediately to the helicopter's flight surfaces.
- Rigid ABS Airframe Construction — The aircraft body is constructed from tough ABS plastic that provides excellent durability whilst maintaining a lightweight structure. This rigid airframe can handle crashes and rough landings that would damage lighter aircraft, making the InFusion 120 a practical choice for learning and regular flying without constant repair requirements.
Technical Performance
The Blade InFusion 120 is powered by a pair of 2405-1300Kv brushless outrunner motors that deliver responsive, linear thrust characteristics ideal for collective pitch helicopter flight. At just 123 grams in weight, the helicopter sits comfortably in the sub-250g category, which has significant implications for UK regulations and accessibility. The dimensions of 298mm length, 95mm height, and 51mm width create a compact package that's genuinely portable and suitable for flying in smaller spaces whilst maintaining the structural rigidity needed for reliable performance. The oversized direct-drive design eliminates the mechanical losses and complexity associated with traditional geared systems, providing instantaneous motor response that translates directly into improved control feel and responsiveness.
The helicopter requires a 2S 7.4V LiPo battery in the 280–300mAh capacity range with a 3-pin JST-PH connector for power, which offers a good balance between flight duration and weight. This battery specification is widely available through UK RC retailers and online suppliers, making it easy to source spares and replacements. The system is compatible with 6+ channel Spektrum DSMX or DSM2 transmitters, integrating with Horizon Hobby's proven wireless protocol that delivers reliable, glitch-free control across the RC spectrum. The combination of brushless outrunner main and tail motors with AS3X stabilisation creates a platform that's simultaneously forgiving for learning pilots and capable enough for experienced flyers to explore advanced aerobatic manoeuvres including inverted flight, rolls, loops, and 3D hovering techniques.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Blade InFusion 120 suitable for helicopter beginners? — Absolutely. Whilst it is a collective pitch helicopter which requires more skill than fixed-pitch designs, the InFusion 120 is specifically engineered with beginners in mind. The SAFE technology provides automatic self-leveling and panic recovery, the AS3X system smooths wind effects without limiting your control, and the progressive flight modes let you build skills gradually. The fully assembled design means you can start flying immediately rather than spending weeks on construction and setup.
- What is the difference between AS3X and SAFE technology on this helicopter? — AS3X (Angle Stabilisation 3-Axis) continuously smooths out wind and turbulence effects whilst preserving your full control authority, making the helicopter more stable in variable conditions without limiting aerobatic capability. SAFE technology adds automatic self-leveling that makes the helicopter want to return to level flight, which is particularly helpful for learning basic manoeuvres. The InFusion 120 includes both systems, and you can choose which to use depending on your flying needs—beginners typically prefer SAFE for stability, whilst experienced pilots often use AS3X for unrestricted 3D capability.
- What battery does the Blade InFusion 120 need? — The helicopter requires a 2S 7.4V LiPo battery with a capacity between 280–300mAh and a 3-pin JST-PH connector. A 30C+ discharge rating is recommended to provide sufficient power for the brushless motors. These batteries are readily available through UK RC retailers and online shops. You'll also need a suitable LiPo charger—most modern hobby chargers support 2S batteries, and many retailers sell balanced chargers specifically designed for this battery type.
- How long does the InFusion 120 fly for? — Flight time depends on your flying style and the specific battery you use, but with a 280–300mAh 2S battery, you can expect roughly 5–8 minutes of flight time under normal conditions. More aggressive 3D flying will reduce this duration, whilst gentle hovering flight extends it. Having multiple batteries allows you to maximise your flying sessions by swapping batteries between flights.
- What transmitter do I need for the InFusion 120? — You need a 6+ channel Spektrum DSMX or DSM2 compatible transmitter. Spektrum TX-series transmitters are the standard choice, available from UK RC retailers. The helicopter binds to your transmitter using standard Spektrum binding procedures, and once linked, you have full control of throttle, cyclic pitch, and tail rotor functions across the available channels.
- Is the InFusion 120 durable enough for regular flying? — The rigid ABS plastic airframe is genuinely durable and designed to handle the inevitable crashes and hard landings that happen when learning collective pitch flying. The direct-drive brushless motor system has fewer wear points than traditional geared designs, reducing maintenance requirements. Long throw linear servos are nearly indestructible. All of this makes the InFusion 120 a practical helicopter for regular flying without excessive downtime for repairs.
- Can I fly the InFusion 120 in windy conditions? — Yes, the AS3X stabilisation system is specifically designed to handle wind by continuously compensating for turbulence and gusts without removing your control authority. Whilst any helicopter performs better in calm conditions, the InFusion 120 is notably more stable in variable weather than traditional collective pitch designs thanks to this advanced stabilisation technology.
