Overview

The RC Overhaul Camber & Ride Height Gauge (T-RCO-TL014) is an essential 2-in-1 setup tool for anyone serious about fine-tuning their RC car's critical chassis settings. Whether you're running a competitive 1/10th scale on-road racer or a 1/12th scale precision machine, this compact gauge allows you to dial in two of the most important suspension parameters with accuracy and ease. Perfect for RC car enthusiasts across the UK, from weekend bashers to serious competitors, this tool delivers professional-grade setup capability at an economical price point that won't break the bank.

Setup is everything in RC racing and driving. Getting your ride height and camber angles precisely right can mean the difference between a car that handles predictably and one that feels unstable or unpredictable. The RC Overhaul Camber & Ride Height Gauge takes the guesswork out of these critical adjustments, allowing you to measure and set angles with confidence. This is particularly valuable for 1/10th and 1/12th on-road models, where chassis geometry has a profound impact on handling characteristics, traction and cornering performance.

Finished with the recognisable RC Overhaul branding, this gauge is compact enough to carry to the track or to your local RC club, yet robust enough to provide reliable measurements session after session. It's the kind of tool that quickly becomes indispensable once you start using it regularly.

Key Features

  • 2-in-1 Design — Ride Height and Camber Gauge in One — This dual-function tool eliminates the need to carry separate measuring instruments. Simply fold away the ride height gauge to use the tool upright for camber measurements, making setup faster and more convenient at the track or workshop.
  • Ride Height Measurement Range of 3–10mm in 0.5mm Increments — Precise ride height adjustment is critical for setting the rake and ride angle on 1/10th and 1/12th on-road cars. The 0.5mm increment markings allow you to dial in the exact height needed for optimal ground clearance and suspension geometry.
  • Camber Angle Range from 0° to ?15° — Full negative camber range from zero through to 15 degrees negative gives you complete flexibility to match camber settings to your driving style, track conditions and suspension setup. This range covers everything from minimal camber for high-speed stability to aggressive negative camber for maximum cornering grip.
  • Thumb Screw Locking Mechanism — Dual thumb screws on the back of the gauge allow you to lock both the ride height and camber positions firmly in place whilst measuring. Tightened to finger-tight tension, these screws ensure the gauge won't shift or move during use, guaranteeing accurate, repeatable measurements every time.
  • Compact Form Factor — The space-saving design makes this tool easy to pack in your pit bag or toolbox. Despite its compact size, it delivers full functionality and doesn't compromise on measurement accuracy or ease of use.
  • Professional-Grade Setup Tool at Economy Price — Rather than investing in separate high-end gauges or professional workshop equipment, this single tool provides the essential functionality needed to get your 1/10th or 1/12th on-road car dialled in perfectly without the premium price tag.

Technical Performance

The RC Overhaul Camber & Ride Height Gauge is engineered with precision in mind. The ride height measurement system works across the critical 3–10mm range that covers most 1/10th and 1/12th on-road chassis setups, with fine 0.5mm increment markings for granular adjustment control. The camber angle measurement spans from 0° (neutral) through to ?15° (full negative camber), covering the complete range needed for modern on-road RC racing. The dual thumb screw locking system provides mechanical security during measurement, preventing accidental movement that could compromise accuracy. The compact construction uses durable materials finished with the RC Overhaul logo, ensuring this tool will withstand regular use in workshop and trackside environments without deterioration. The folding design is intuitive — simply fold the ride height gauge away to convert the tool to upright camber measurement mode, making the transition between the two functions seamless and quick.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the RC Overhaul Camber & Ride Height Gauge suitable for my 1/10th scale on-road RC car? — Yes, absolutely. This gauge is specifically designed for 1/10th and 1/12th scale on-road applications, making it ideal if you're running a precision touring car, sedan or saloon chassis. The 3–10mm ride height range and 0° to ?15° camber range cover the setup parameters used by most on-road racers in the UK RC community.
  • What's the difference between this 2-in-1 gauge and buying separate ride height and camber tools? — This single tool combines both functions in a compact package, saving space, weight and cost. Rather than carrying two separate instruments to the track, you have one folding gauge that handles both critical measurements. This integration makes setup faster and more convenient, whilst the economical price point means you save significantly compared to purchasing professional-grade separate tools.
  • How do I use the thumb screws to lock the gauge in position? — The thumb screws are located on the back of the gauge. To lock the ride height position, tighten the relevant thumb screw to finger-tight tension — you don't need tools, just your fingers. The same process applies for locking the camber angle. Finger-tight tension is sufficient to hold the gauge firmly in place during measurement without damaging the tool or the vehicle being measured.
  • Can I use this gauge on my 1/12th scale car? — Yes, the RC Overhaul Camber & Ride Height Gauge is designed for both 1/10th and 1/12th scale on-road applications. The measurement ranges work perfectly for 1/12th chassis setups, making this an excellent choice regardless of your scale preference.
  • Is this tool easy to use for beginners? — Absolutely. The gauge requires no assembly, no batteries, and no setup. Simply unfold it, place it against your vehicle's suspension or wheels, and read the measurement. The clear increment markings and straightforward folding design make it accessible to anyone new to RC car setup, whilst still providing the precision needed by experienced competitors.
  • Will this gauge help improve my on-road car's handling? — Definitely. Getting ride height and camber angles precisely right has a significant impact on how your RC car handles. Too much or too little ride height affects ground clearance and suspension geometry. Incorrect camber changes how much tyre contact patch you have and how the car turns. With this gauge, you can dial in the exact settings your car needs, leading to more predictable handling, better traction and improved performance lap after lap.
