Overview

The ARRMA Ball Bearing 10x16x5mm 2RS (2) Z-ARA610051 is an essential replacement component for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision engineering and reliable performance from their radio-controlled vehicles. Whether you're maintaining a high-performance RC buggy, monster truck, or short course truck, these premium ball bearings are engineered to deliver the smooth, consistent operation that separates amateur setups from competitive-grade RC cars. ARRMA is renowned in the RC hobby community for manufacturing components that meet the exacting standards required by weekend bashers and serious competitors alike, and these rubber-shielded bearings exemplify that commitment to quality.

Ball bearings are fundamental to any RC car's performance, as they enable smooth rotation of wheels, driveshafts, and other critical rotating components. When your existing bearings wear out or develop play, replacing them with genuine ARRMA components ensures your RC model performs at its peak. These 10x16x5mm bearings are specifically designed to fit multiple ARRMA platforms and many other RC vehicles, making them one of the most versatile replacement bearing options available to RC enthusiasts shopping online in the UK. The 2RS designation indicates the bearings feature double rubber seals on both sides, providing superior protection against dirt, sand, water spray, and other contaminants encountered during outdoor RC racing and bashing sessions.

If you're serious about maintaining your RC car in top condition, investing in premium replacement bearings like these ARRMA units is non-negotiable. Ready to run RC cars, race kits, and custom builds all benefit from having high-quality spare bearings on hand, ensuring you're never sidelined by bearing wear during a crucial race weekend or casual bashing session.

Key Features

  • Precision Ball-Raced Design — These bearings utilise premium ball-race technology that delivers ultra-smooth operation under all conditions, whether you're running your RC model on asphalt, dirt, or mixed terrain, ensuring consistent performance lap after lap.
  • Double Protective Rubber Seals (2RS) — The 2RS (two rubber seals) configuration provides added durability and protection against contamination, keeping dirt, dust, sand, and moisture away from the bearing races and ball elements, which significantly extends bearing lifespan and maintains performance in challenging outdoor environments.
  • Precision Manufacturing Standards — Every bearing is manufactured to exacting tolerance specifications, ensuring fast and effortless installation into your RC model with a perfect fit every time, eliminating the frustration of ill-fitting components that can cause vibration and handling issues.
  • Consistent Service and Reliability — The tight manufacturing tolerances mean you get identical performance from each bearing, providing reliable and predictable handling characteristics across your entire RC fleet, whether you're running multiple vehicles or maintaining a single competitive platform.
  • Safe and Secure Assembly — These bearings are manufactured to consistent tolerance specifications that guarantee safe assembly and prevent the loose play that can develop with lower-quality alternatives, maintaining the structural integrity of your RC chassis and suspension geometry.
  • Pack of Two — This pack contains two individual 10x16x5mm bearings, providing replacement options for various positions within your RC model's drivetrain and suspension, making it economical for maintaining multiple vehicles or keeping spares in your RC kit bag.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Ball Bearing 10x16x5mm 2RS represents the kind of precision engineering that defines genuine OEM replacement parts in the RC hobby. With an inner diameter of precisely 10mm and outer diameter of 16mm, combined with a 5mm thickness, these bearings fit within specific mounting points across the ARRMA range and compatible RC platforms. The double rubber seals provide genuine protection beyond what standard open bearings offer, allowing you to run your RC car in dusty conditions, wet grass, or even light rain without compromising bearing integrity. The premium ball-raced construction ensures that rotational friction is minimised, which translates directly into improved handling response, faster acceleration, and better energy efficiency from your RC car's motor and drivetrain. Whether you're running brushless motors on 3S LiPo batteries or experimenting with higher-voltage setups, these bearings perform consistently across all power configurations. The manufacturing precision means bearing play is virtually eliminated, providing the kind of tight, responsive feel that competitive RC drivers demand when setting up their vehicles for racing. These are genuine ARRMA components, not aftermarket copies, ensuring that replacement bearings match the exact specifications of the original equipment fitted to your RC model from the factory.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does 2RS mean on these RC ball bearings? — The 2RS designation stands for 'two rubber seals' and indicates that this bearing has protective rubber seals on both sides. These seals shield the bearing races and ball elements from dirt, sand, water, and other contamination, making them ideal for outdoor RC bashing and racing where dusty or wet conditions are common. This makes them superior to open bearings for general RC use.
  • Which ARRMA RC cars use these 10x16x5mm bearings? — These 10x16x5mm bearings are compatible with a wide range of ARRMA models and many other RC vehicles. They fit various positions within the drivetrain and suspension assemblies. Consult your specific RC car's parts manual or contact our team at RC Model Shop to confirm fitment for your particular model.
  • How often should I replace my RC car's ball bearings? — Ball bearing replacement frequency depends on how intensively you use your RC car. Weekend bashers and casual hobbyists might replace bearings annually or every 20-30 hours of running time, whilst competitive racers who run multiple times weekly should inspect and consider replacement every 10-15 hours. Signs that bearings need replacement include grinding noises, resistance to free-spinning, or visible dust inside the bearing shields.
  • Can these bearings be used in wet conditions? — Yes, the 2RS rubber-sealed design makes these bearings well-suited for use in wet grass and light rain conditions common in UK RC racing and bashing. The rubber seals help prevent water ingress, though they are not rated as fully waterproof and extended immersion should still be avoided. After wet running, allow bearings to dry and consider cleaning to prevent long-term water damage.
  • Are these genuine ARRMA bearings or aftermarket copies? — These are genuine ARRMA components, not aftermarket alternatives. Buying genuine replacement parts from authorised retailers like RC Model Shop ensures you receive components manufactured to ARRMA's exact specifications, guaranteeing fitment, durability, and performance consistency.
  • What tools do I need to replace these bearings in my RC car? — Most RC bearing replacements require basic RC maintenance tools including hex wrenches (usually 1.5mm to 3mm), a screwdriver set, and potentially a bearing press tool depending on how the bearings mount in your specific chassis. Consult your RC car's manual for specific removal and installation procedures.
