Key Features

  • Genuine AXIAL Component — This is an authentic manufacturer part engineered to original specifications, ensuring it meets AXIAL's strict quality standards and will perform exactly as the original component did, giving you peace of mind that you're installing genuine equipment in your RC model.
  • LCXU Model Compatibility — Specifically designed for LCXU platform vehicles, this dig cog and plate assembly ensures perfect fitment and meshing with other drivetrain components, eliminating compatibility issues that can occur with incorrect or aftermarket alternatives.
  • Drivetrain Performance — The dig cog and plate work together as a critical part of your model's drivetrain system, transmitting power efficiently and reliably from the motor through to the wheels, making this a vital component for maintaining consistent performance during driving sessions.
  • Wear-Resistant Design — AXIAL components are engineered from materials selected for their durability and resistance to wear, meaning your new dig cog and plate will maintain engagement and performance for extended use before requiring replacement again.
  • Precision Engineering — Every dimension and tooth profile is manufactured to exact tolerances, ensuring smooth engagement with mating components and eliminating noise, vibration and performance loss that can result from worn or damaged drivetrain parts.

Technical Performance

The AXIAL Dig Cog & Plate (LCXU) represents precision engineering at the heart of your RC model's drivetrain system. As a drivetrain component, this cog and plate assembly is responsible for efficient power transmission from your motor through the gearbox to your wheels. The dig cog features precision-cut teeth that mesh smoothly with corresponding gears in your LCXU model's transmission, while the plate provides structural support and ensures proper alignment of all drivetrain elements. AXIAL's commitment to quality engineering means these components are manufactured from durable materials selected to withstand the stresses of repeated acceleration, deceleration, and load transfers that occur during normal RC operation. Whether you're running a high-torque brushless motor system or pushing your RC car to high speeds, the integrity of drivetrain components like this dig cog and plate is essential for maintaining smooth power delivery and preventing mechanical failure. The precision manufacturing process ensures tight tolerances between the cog teeth and meshing gears, which is crucial for eliminating backlash and maximising efficiency in your RC model's powertrain. For UK-based RC enthusiasts maintaining their models or replacing worn components, this genuine AXIAL part ensures your model continues to deliver the performance you expect from a quality RC vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a dig cog and plate, and why do I need to replace it? — The dig cog and plate are essential drivetrain components in your AXIAL LCXU model that work together to transmit power from the motor through the transmission system. Over time, the teeth on the cog can wear down from repeated engagement and disengagement, and the plate can become damaged or bent from impacts or normal use. Replacing these components restores your model's drivetrain efficiency and prevents further damage to other transmission parts, ensuring your RC car continues to perform smoothly and reliably.
  • Is this part compatible with all AXIAL models? — No, this Dig Cog & Plate is specifically designed for LCXU platform models. Always verify your model number before purchasing to ensure compatibility. Installing the wrong drivetrain component can result in poor meshing, noise, and potential damage to your transmission system.
  • How difficult is it to replace the dig cog and plate? — Replacement difficulty depends on your mechanical experience with RC models. The dig cog and plate are typically accessed through the transmission housing, which may require partial disassembly of your model. If you're experienced with RC maintenance and have the appropriate tools and workspace, this is a straightforward task. However, if you're new to RC model maintenance, you may want to seek assistance from an experienced RC technician or visit your local RC hobby shop for professional installation.
  • How often should I replace my dig cog and plate? — The lifespan of these components depends on how frequently you run your RC model and the conditions in which you operate it. Heavy use, high-speed running, and extreme terrain can accelerate wear. Inspect your drivetrain components regularly, and replace them when you notice tooth wear, movement, or any grinding sounds during operation. Regular inspection during routine maintenance prevents unexpected drivetrain failure during driving sessions.
  • Can I upgrade to a performance version of this component? — This description covers the standard OEM AXIAL component. AXIAL and aftermarket manufacturers may produce performance or upgraded versions of drivetrain components. Contact RC Model Shop to enquire about alternative options that may be compatible with your LCXU model if you're interested in performance upgrades.
