Overview
The AXIAL Servo Horn, Metal 23T is a premium replacement servo horn designed specifically for 1/10 scale SCX10 PRO Comp Scaler rock crawlers and other compatible Axial platforms. This metal servo horn represents an essential upgrade component for serious RC enthusiasts and competitive crawlers who demand reliability and precision in their steering control systems. Whether you're running a competition-grade SCX10 PRO or maintaining an existing crawler build, this aluminium servo horn delivers the durability and performance needed for demanding trail conditions.
As a fixed servo horn (not featuring a servo saver mechanism), this component offers a rigid connection between your servo and steering linkage, translating servo inputs directly and immediately to your vehicle's steering geometry. This direct connection is particularly valued in rock crawling applications where precise steering control over obstacles is critical. For UK RC car enthusiasts looking for quality replacement parts or upgrade components, this metal servo horn from Axial ensures your ready to run RC crawler maintains factory-specification steering performance or can be restored after wear or damage.
The 23T tooth count makes this servo horn compatible with standard servo spline sizing commonly found on quality steering servos in 1/10 scale rock crawlers. If you're building or rebuilding a competition-grade RC crawler, or simply maintaining your SCX10 PRO platform, this metal servo horn is an authentic Axial replacement part that meets OEM specifications for reliable performance.
Key Features
- Aluminium Construction — Manufactured from high-quality aluminium alloy, this servo horn provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio whilst remaining lighter than steel alternatives, which is crucial for maintaining precise servo response and minimising servo load in rock crawling applications.
- 23 Tooth Spline Fitment — The 23T specification ensures compatibility with standard servo spline sizing used on Axial SCX10 and related platforms, allowing direct installation without modification or adapters.
- Fixed Design (No Servo Saver) — By eliminating the servo saver mechanism, this horn provides immediate, direct steering input translation, which experienced crawlers prefer for maximum control over technical rock obstacles and precise line work.
- Axial OEM Component — As an official Axial replacement part, this servo horn maintains factory specifications and build quality, ensuring your steering system performs at manufacturer-intended standards.
- Durable Metal Construction — Unlike plastic alternatives, the metal construction resists cracking and deformation from impact, providing reliable performance through repeated obstacle encounters and rough trail conditions.
Technical Performance
This servo horn represents the quality standard you expect from Axial's engineering approach to rock crawling platforms. The aluminium construction provides an optimal balance between weight reduction and structural rigidity, critical factors when precision steering response is essential during technical crawling manoeuvres. The 23T tooth count corresponds to standard servo specifications found on quality metal gear servos commonly installed in 1/10 scale crawlers, including the waterproof 15kg servos featured on SCX10 platforms. The fixed design (rather than servo-saver style) means steering input is transmitted directly from your servo to the steering linkage without any rotational flexibility, allowing experienced drivers to maintain precise control during aggressive obstacle negotiations. The aluminium material resists corrosion and maintains dimensional stability even after exposure to moisture, mud, and rocky terrain typical of serious RC crawling environments in the UK. This component integrates seamlessly into the SCX10 PRO Comp Scaler's optimised suspension geometry and steering kinematics, maintaining the precise bump steer reduction and handling characteristics that Axial engineers calibrated into the platform.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this servo horn compatible with my SCX10 PRO Comp Scaler? — Yes, this 23T metal servo horn is specifically designed for the SCX10 PRO Comp Scaler platform. It also fits other Axial 1/10 scale crawlers that use standard 23T servo splines, making it a versatile replacement component.
- What is the difference between a fixed servo horn and a servo saver? — A fixed servo horn (like this model) provides direct steering input with no rotational compliance, giving you maximum control precision but offering no shock absorption if the steering hits an obstacle. A servo saver includes a spring mechanism that allows slight flex before transmitting steering input, protecting your servo from damage during impacts but sacrificing some steering immediacy. Competitive crawlers typically prefer fixed horns for maximum control.
- Will this servo horn improve my steering response? — If you're replacing a damaged or plastic servo horn, switching to this quality metal alternative will restore or improve steering precision. The rigid aluminium construction ensures immediate, faithful transmission of servo commands to your steering linkage, essential for technical crawling.
- What tooth count should I choose? — The 23T specification matches the servo spline sizing on most standard 1/10 scale crawler servos. Axial also offers 25T horns for different servo types. Check your servo's spline specifications before ordering; the 23T is the correct choice for SCX10 platforms with standard servo installations.
- Is this suitable for rock crawling? — Absolutely. This metal servo horn is engineered specifically for rock crawling applications where precise steering control over technical obstacles is critical. The durable aluminium construction resists damage from impacts with rocks and rough terrain, and the rigid fixed design provides the steering accuracy that experienced crawlers demand.
- Can I use this on other RC vehicles? — This servo horn is primarily designed for Axial SCX10 platforms and compatible crawlers using 23T servo splines. It's not suitable for stadium trucks, buggies, or other vehicle types that use different servo spline sizes.
