Overview
The BLH Flybarless Follower Arm for the Blade Fusion 180 is an essential replacement component designed for pilots who operate this popular micro helicopter. This genuine Blade spare part is engineered to maintain the precise control characteristics and stability that the Fusion 180 is renowned for, making it an indispensable item for anyone serious about keeping their aircraft in peak flying condition. Whether you're rebuilding after a crash, performing routine maintenance, or upgrading your Fusion 180, this flybarless follower arm ensures your helicopter maintains its responsive handling and smooth flight characteristics that RC helicopter enthusiasts across the UK have come to expect from Blade's engineering.
The flybarless system on the Fusion 180 represents modern RC helicopter technology, eliminating the need for traditional flybar mechanics whilst maintaining exceptional stability and control authority. The follower arm is a critical component within this system, translating pilot input through the swashplate mechanism to control the main rotor blade pitch. For RC enthusiasts operating brushless micro helicopters like the Fusion 180, having genuine replacement parts on hand is essential for minimising downtime and ensuring consistent performance. This component is particularly valuable for pilots who fly regularly and want to maintain their helicopter's original performance specifications without compromise.
Sourced from genuine Blade inventory and stocked by RC Model Shop, a trusted UK RC retailer, this follower arm comes with the assurance of authentic manufacturing quality. Blade components are engineered to exacting standards, and this spare part integrates seamlessly with your existing Fusion 180 airframe assembly, main rotor assembly, and control linkage systems.
Key Features
- Genuine Blade Component — This is an authentic Blade-manufactured part designed specifically for the Fusion 180 helicopter, ensuring perfect compatibility and maintaining the aircraft's original performance characteristics without any fitting issues or compromises to control response.
- Flybarless System Integration — The follower arm is a core component of the Fusion 180's flybarless stabilisation system, which provides pilots with modern, gyro-stabilised flight control that delivers both stability and precision handling without the mechanical complexity of traditional flybar designs.
- Critical Control Function — This component directly translates swashplate movement into main rotor blade pitch control, making it essential for maintaining the helicopter's ability to respond accurately to pilot commands and maintain stable, vibration-free flight.
- Durable Construction — Engineered from quality materials selected to withstand the operational stresses of helicopter flight whilst maintaining precise tolerances necessary for smooth, responsive control inputs.
- Essential Maintenance Part — Whether replacing a worn component or rebuilding after a crash, this follower arm ensures your Fusion 180 performs exactly as Blade engineers intended, maintaining the crisp control and stability the aircraft is known for.
- Compatible with Fusion 180 Systems — Works seamlessly with the Fusion 180's main rotor headblock, swashplate, servo control linkage set, and complete airframe assembly, ensuring integrated system performance.
Technical Performance
The BLH Flybarless Follower Arm is engineered as part of the Blade Fusion 180's advanced flight control architecture. The Fusion 180 is a 180mm micro helicopter powered by a 1310-3600KV brushless motor controlled by a 20A brushless ESC, delivering responsive, precise flight performance across a wide operational envelope. The follower arm mechanism works in conjunction with the swashplate assembly to translate the three-axis control inputs (pitch, roll, and yaw) from the pilot's transmitter through the servo control linkages to the main rotor blades. This mechanical linkage must maintain exact tolerances and smooth operation to ensure that the helicopter's electronic stabilisation system can function properly and deliver the crisp, responsive handling that defines the Fusion 180 experience. The component is manufactured to stringent quality standards ensuring that wear and tear from regular operation doesn't compromise control precision, and replacement becomes necessary only after significant flight hours or following a crash impact. For UK-based RC helicopter pilots, maintaining genuine Blade spare parts like this follower arm ensures that your investment in a quality micro helicopter continues to deliver reliable, satisfying flight experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a flybarless follower arm and why does my Fusion 180 need one? — The flybarless follower arm is a critical mechanical component that translates swashplate movement into main rotor blade pitch control. Your Fusion 180 relies on this component to convert pilot inputs into helicopter control, and it must be replaced if damaged, worn, or after a crash to restore full control responsiveness and stability.
- Is this a genuine Blade component? — Yes, this is an authentic Blade-manufactured part (model number Z-BLH5823) designed and engineered specifically for the Fusion 180 helicopter, ensuring perfect compatibility and original performance specifications.
- How do I know if I need to replace my follower arm? — Visible damage from a crash, bending of the arm, cracks, or noticeably less responsive pitch control from your helicopter are indicators that the follower arm requires replacement. Regular inspection during maintenance is recommended for pilots who fly frequently.
- Will this work with other Blade helicopters? — This follower arm is specifically engineered for the Blade Fusion 180 and is not compatible with other Blade helicopter models. Always verify part compatibility with your specific aircraft model before ordering.
- What other Fusion 180 spares should I keep in stock? — RC Model Shop recommends keeping spare main shafts, feathering shafts, main gears, main blade sets, tail components, and linkage parts in your field box for quick repairs and minimal downtime between flights.
- How difficult is it to install this component? — Installation requires basic RC helicopter maintenance knowledge and appropriate tools. If you're unfamiliar with helicopter assembly and control linkage systems, we recommend consulting the Blade Fusion 180 instruction manual or seeking assistance from experienced RC helicopter pilots before attempting installation.
