Overview

The BLH Swashplate for the Blade 230 S is an essential replacement component for serious RC helicopter enthusiasts in the UK who demand precision and reliability. Whether you've experienced a crash, want to restore worn components, or simply need to maintain your helicopter in peak flying condition, this genuine Blade swashplate is the perfect solution. The swashplate is a critical component in any RC helicopter's control system, transferring servo inputs to the main rotor blades to achieve precise pitch control. For anyone flying RC helicopters in the UK, having quality spare parts on hand ensures minimal downtime between flights and keeps your model in competition-ready condition.

This swashplate is specifically engineered for the Blade 230 S helicopter, ensuring perfect compatibility and optimal performance. Whether you're a weekend flyer enjoying recreational hovering and basic manoeuvres, or a dedicated RC pilot practicing advanced aerobatics, maintaining the integrity of your swashplate is crucial for safe and predictable flight control. RC helicopter enthusiasts across the UK trust genuine Blade components because they maintain the engineering tolerances and build quality that manufacturers intended, ensuring your helicopter responds exactly as it should when you operate the controls.

As part of the comprehensive Blade 230 S V2 spares and upgrades range, this component sits alongside other essential maintenance items like main rotor heads, servo linkage sets, main shafts and tail booms. Keeping your swashplate in excellent condition means your servo commands translate directly to rotor blade pitch adjustments without delay or imprecision, which is absolutely vital for stable, responsive flight performance.

Key Features

  • Genuine Blade Component — This is an original equipment manufacturer part designed specifically for the Blade 230 S, ensuring perfect fitment and performance that matches the original specification the helicopter was engineered with.
  • Critical Control System Part — The swashplate is the mechanical interface between your servos and the main rotor blades, making it essential for translating your stick inputs into precise blade pitch control that determines how your helicopter climbs, descends and manoeuvres.
  • Precision Engineered — Built to exact tolerances, this swashplate maintains the mechanical integrity of your helicopter's cyclic and collective control system, ensuring responsive handling and predictable flight behaviour at all times.
  • Replacement and Upgrade Ready — Whether you're recovering from a crash that damaged the original swashplate or simply want to restore a worn component back to factory condition, this part brings your helicopter back to peak performance.
  • Part of Complete Spares Range — Works seamlessly with other Blade 230 S genuine spares including main rotor heads, spindle sets, linkage kits and servo arms to enable comprehensive maintenance and upgrades.

Technical Performance

The Blade 230 S swashplate represents the precision engineering that Blade helicopters are renowned for across the RC hobby community in the UK. This component is manufactured to maintain exact mechanical geometry, ensuring that when your servos move, the swashplate translates that motion into perfect blade pitch angles without slop, play or inconsistency. The swashplate works in conjunction with other control linkages including the main rotor head linkage set, servo arms with linkage balls, and servo pushrods to create a complete, responsive control system. For the Blade 230 S platform, using genuine components maintains the aircraft's design margins and ensures that the servo torque specifications, control horn geometry and blade pitch ranges all work together harmoniously. Replacing a damaged or worn swashplate with this genuine Blade component restores your helicopter to full control authority and ensures that both beginner pilots learning basic hovering skills and experienced RC pilots executing inverted manoeuvres will experience predictable, lag-free control response. The material composition and mechanical tolerances are engineered to handle continuous servo actuation cycles without wear, ensuring long-term reliability for regular flying throughout the year.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this swashplate compatible with all Blade 230 models? — No. This swashplate (BLH1505) is specifically designed for the Blade 230 S. It is not compatible with the Blade 230 S V2 or Blade 230 S Smart versions, which use different components. Always check your helicopter model and manual before ordering, as using an incompatible swashplate will prevent correct control operation.
  • What happens if my swashplate is damaged? — A damaged swashplate prevents your servos from properly adjusting rotor blade pitch. Symptoms include loss of control response, the helicopter drifting during hover, or inability to achieve stable flight. If you notice control lag or unresponsive pitch control, your swashplate may be damaged and requires replacement. A new swashplate restores full control authority and flight precision.
  • Can I install this myself, or do I need a technician? — Installation requires basic mechanical skill and familiarity with your Blade 230 S. The process involves removing the canopy, rotor head assembly and linkages, then installing the new swashplate. You'll need small screwdrivers and hex keys. Most experienced RC helicopter builders can complete the replacement in 30 to 45 minutes. If you're unsure, the Blade 230 S V2 manual provides detailed guidance, or you can contact our expert team at RC Model Shop for advice.
  • What other parts should I replace at the same time? — If you're rebuilding your Blade 230 S after a crash, consider inspecting and potentially replacing related components including the main rotor head (BLH1501), main rotor head linkage set (BLH1504), servo arms with linkage balls (BLH1511), and servo pushrod set (BLH1509). These parts work together as the complete control linkage system, and replacing multiple worn components ensures your helicopter responds predictably and reliably.
  • How often should I replace the swashplate? — With proper maintenance, a swashplate can last for years of regular flying. However, after a crash that affects the rotor head or control system, replace the swashplate to restore precision. If you notice creeping wear such as slight control lag or increasing difficulty achieving stable hover, replacement renews full control response and flight characteristics.
  • Is this part genuine Blade? — Yes. This is an original Blade component (model BLH1505) manufactured by Horizon Hobby. Genuine parts ensure perfect engineering tolerances and compatibility with your helicopter's servo system and mechanical linkages. Using genuine Blade spares maintains your aircraft's design specifications and flight performance.
