Overview
The Axial M2.5x8 Cap Head Screw is an essential replacement and spare part for RC enthusiasts maintaining and upgrading their scale models. Whether you're a seasoned RC car UK competitor, a weekend basher, or someone new to the RC hobby, having quality fasteners on hand is crucial for keeping your models in top condition. These machine thread cap head screws are designed to the exacting standards Axial is known for, ensuring reliability and perfect fitment across their range of RC vehicles.
As an RC hobbyist, you'll understand that small components like screws are the backbone of your model's structural integrity. The Axial M2.5x8 Cap Head Screw pack provides ten precision-engineered fasteners ready for assembly, repair, or customisation work. Whether you're building a ready to run RC vehicle or maintaining an existing model, these screws deliver the quality and consistency you need. RC Model Shop stocks genuine Axial spares to keep your hobby running smoothly, with fast UK delivery and expert support available whenever you need it.
These cap head screws feature a distinctive hexagonal socket design that provides excellent grip and control when tightening, reducing the risk of stripping or damaging the fastener. The black finish offers durability and corrosion resistance, whilst the M2.5 metric size and 8mm length make them ideal for a wide range of RC assembly applications across Axial's product lineup.
Key Features
- Cap Head Design — The raised, domed head provides superior strength and a professional appearance compared to flat-head alternatives, whilst the larger bearing surface distributes load more effectively across components.
- Hexagonal Socket Driver — The hex socket (Allen key) fitting ensures precise engagement and reduces the risk of fastener damage during installation, particularly important when working with small-scale components where over-tightening can cause failure.
- Machine Thread Construction — Precision machine threads guarantee consistent pitch and smooth engagement with corresponding nuts and threaded holes, eliminating the risk of cross-threading and ensuring repeatable assembly quality.
- M2.5 Metric Size — This popular metric size is used extensively throughout Axial RC models, making these screws a versatile choice for multiple assembly points on your RC vehicle.
- 8mm Length — The 8mm length is engineered to provide adequate grip depth without excessive protrusion, ideal for securing components without interference or weak connections.
- Black Finish — The black colour provides visual consistency with other Axial components and offers enhanced corrosion resistance compared to bright finishes, extending the lifespan of your fasteners through multiple seasons of use.
- Pack of Ten — Ten screws per pack provides sufficient quantity for a single repair job or to maintain a spare stock for future maintenance, reducing downtime between RC sessions.
Technical Performance
The Axial M2.5x8 Cap Head Screw represents precision engineering at the smallest scale. Every thread is manufactured to tight tolerances, ensuring that whether you're assembling a new RC crawler, RC buggy, or performing mid-season maintenance on your RC monster truck, the fastener will engage smoothly with its mating component. The cap head design, with its distinctive domed profile, provides a larger bearing surface than standard pan-head screws, distributing clamping force more evenly across the surfaces being joined. This is particularly important in RC applications where vibration and dynamic loads are constant factors. The hexagonal socket driver facilitates precise torque application—critical when working with delicate plastics, aluminium chassis components, and suspension linkages that could be easily damaged by over-tightening. The machine thread specification ensures compatibility with Axial's precision-engineered receiver holes and threaded inserts, eliminating the guesswork from assembly. For the UK RC community, whether you're engaged in competitive racing or casual weekend bashing, maintaining a supply of genuine Axial fasteners ensures your models remain roadworthy and safe throughout the season.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are these M2.5x8 cap head screws used for on RC models? — These fasteners are universal spare parts designed for Axial RC vehicles, used to secure chassis components, suspension linkages, body posts, shock towers, servo mounts, and various other assembly points. Having a pack of genuine Axial spares ensures you can perform maintenance or repairs without waiting for delivery, keeping your RC car UK hobby on track.
- Will these screws fit other RC brands besides Axial? — Whilst the M2.5x8 metric size is a standard specification, we recommend using fasteners specifically designed for your RC vehicle model to ensure proper fitment and avoiding damage to precision-engineered components. Always consult your vehicle's manual for recommended fastener specifications.
- What's the difference between a cap head screw and other screw types? — Cap head screws feature a raised, domed head with a hexagonal socket, providing superior strength, better load distribution, and easier installation compared to flat-head or pan-head alternatives. The cap head design is particularly valued in RC applications where reliability under vibration is essential.
- How many screws do I need? — This pack contains ten screws, which is typically sufficient for a single assembly job or repair task. We recommend keeping spare packs on hand for regular maintenance and unexpected damage, particularly if you're an active weekend basher or competitive racer.
- Are these screws corrosion-resistant? — Yes, the black finish provides enhanced corrosion resistance compared to bright metal finishes. However, we recommend storing your spare parts in a dry environment and periodically inspecting fasteners on outdoor-used RC vehicles for signs of corrosion, particularly if used in wet or coastal conditions.
