Overview

The ARRMA Servo Horn 23T Z-ARA340197 is a premium replacement servo horn designed specifically for RC enthusiasts who demand precision engineering and reliable performance from their RC car setups. Whether you're piloting an ARRMA 1/8 scale buggy, tuning your brushless RC vehicle for competition, or simply maintaining your ready-to-run RC car in the UK, this servo horn provides the critical connection between your servo and steering linkages that determines how your vehicle responds to your commands. Built from lightweight yet robust aluminium, this servo horn combines professional-grade materials with meticulous manufacturing to deliver the kind of durability and accuracy that serious RC hobbyists expect.

Servo horns are one of the most frequently replaced components in RC vehicles because they endure constant stress from steering inputs, jumps, crashes, and rough terrain. A worn or damaged servo horn can cause steering inconsistency, poor handling, and unpredictable vehicle behaviour on the track or trail. The ARRMA Servo Horn 23T is engineered to withstand these demands while maintaining perfect mechanical precision, making it an essential spare part for anyone running an ARRMA vehicle or any RC car UK enthusiast using compatible Spektrum servo systems. This component is particularly popular among competitive racers and serious bashers who refuse to compromise on steering reliability.

The 23T spline configuration means this servo horn is specifically engineered to fit Spektrum servo splines perfectly, eliminating the play and wobble that can occur with poorly-matched components. For RC model enthusiasts serious about maintaining their vehicles at peak performance, investing in genuine ARRMA replacement parts like this servo horn is a smart decision that pays dividends in handling precision and long-term reliability.

Key Features

  • Lightweight and Strong Aluminium Construction — This servo horn is machined from premium-grade aluminium that provides an optimal balance between weight and strength, ensuring efficient servo operation without adding unnecessary mass to your steering system that could slow response times or increase power consumption.
  • Precision Machined Engineering — Every servo horn is precision machined to exacting tolerances, guaranteeing an accurate fit to servo splines with zero play or wobble, which directly translates to crisp, responsive steering inputs and improved vehicle handling on the track or trail.
  • Anodized Black Finish with Spektrum Logo — The hard-anodized black coating provides superior durability and corrosion resistance, protecting the aluminium from scratches, impacts, and the elements, whilst the laser-etched Spektrum logo adds professional visual appeal and brand authenticity to your RC setup.
  • 23T Servo Spline Compatibility — This servo horn features a 23-tooth spline designed to match perfectly with Spektrum servo outputs, ensuring a secure, zero-play connection that prevents the steering inconsistencies caused by poorly-fitting servo horns on mismatched systems.
  • Dogleg Design for Additional Clearance — The distinctive dogleg design provides extra ground clearance between the servo horn and the chassis or suspension components, reducing the risk of impact damage during aggressive driving on jumps, rocks, or rough terrain, and allowing for more flexible linkage routing options.

Technical Performance

This servo horn represents the intersection of proven engineering principles and practical RC experience. The choice of aluminium as the primary material is no accident — it offers the ideal blend of lightweight construction and inherent rigidity that serious RC car UK drivers demand. Unlike plastic servo horns that can crack or strip under load, the anodized aluminium construction of the Z-ARA340197 provides permanent durability even under the extreme steering loads encountered during competitive racing or aggressive bashing sessions. The precision machining process ensures that the spline bore matches your Spektrum servo output shaft with absolute concentricity, eliminating micro-movements that can cause steering bind or dead-spots in your control response. The 23-tooth spline count is specifically calibrated for Spektrum servo compatibility, making this the correct choice for any RC vehicle using Spektrum steering servos, whether you're running a 1/8 scale buggy, a competition racing vehicle, or a high-performance brushless RC truck. The dogleg geometry isn't merely aesthetic — it's a functional design feature that moves the mounting point away from the chassis profile, providing clearance that prevents snagging on suspension components, chassis rails, or terrain obstacles. The hard-anodized black coating creates a protective barrier against oxidation, corrosion, and mechanical wear, ensuring that your servo horn maintains its precision fit throughout its service life, whether it's exposed to moisture from wet weather conditions common in the UK, sand and dust from beach and desert tracks, or the corrosive effects of salt-water environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will the ARRMA Servo Horn 23T fit my RC servo and steering system? — Yes, this servo horn is designed with a 23-tooth spline specifically engineered to fit all Spektrum servo systems perfectly. However, it will not fit servo systems from other manufacturers like Futaba, JR, or Sanwa, so verify your servo brand before purchasing. If you're unsure which servo your RC car uses, check your vehicle's documentation or servo case markings.
  • How do I know if my servo horn needs replacing? — Replace your servo horn if you notice loose or sloppy steering response, visible cracks or stripped splines, difficulty maintaining steering trim, or if the horn has become bent or twisted from impact damage. Even if damage isn't visible, if your steering feels less responsive than normal, the servo horn should be one of the first components you inspect.
  • Is this servo horn suitable for high-performance brushless RC vehicles? — Absolutely. The aluminium construction and precision engineering make this servo horn ideal for high-performance brushless RC buggies, trucks, and other vehicles where steering precision is critical. The rigid aluminium design handles the extreme steering loads generated by high-speed brushless powertrains without flex or deflection.
  • What is the advantage of the dogleg design over standard servo horns? — The dogleg design moves the servo horn connection point outward and away from your chassis, providing essential clearance that prevents the horn from striking suspension components, chassis rails, or terrain obstacles during aggressive driving. This design choice is particularly valuable for RC vehicles with aggressive suspension travel or those operated over rough, rocky terrain.
  • Can I use this servo horn to replace a damaged or worn original horn on my ARRMA vehicle? — Yes, this is a genuine ARRMA replacement part (Z-ARA340197) specifically engineered for ARRMA RC vehicles that use Spektrum servos. It's an exact replacement that will restore your vehicle's steering precision if your original horn has become damaged, bent, or worn.
  • How long does a servo horn typically last in an RC vehicle? — With normal recreational use, a quality aluminium servo horn like this should last for years without issue. However, heavy competitive use, frequent crashes, or impacts can damage even the most durable horns. Always carry a spare servo horn in your pit kit for track days and competitions, as steering failure can end your racing session.
