Overview

The LOGIC Charge Lead XT60~DNS is an essential charging adapter that bridges the gap between two of the most popular battery connector types used in RC hobby applications across the UK. Whether you're running an RC car, aircraft, boat, or any other RC model powered by LiPo batteries, this versatile charge lead allows you to connect batteries equipped with XT60 connectors to chargers fitted with DNS (Deans) connectors, or vice versa. This adapter is particularly valuable for RC enthusiasts who own multiple models with different connector types and want to maximise the compatibility of their charging equipment without needing separate chargers for each battery configuration.

Manufactured by Logic RC, a respected UK-based supplier of RC components and accessories, this charge lead represents genuine quality and reliability. The XT60 connector is renowned for its robust design and excellent current-carrying capability, making it the preferred choice for higher-powered applications and modern RC setups. The DNS (Deans) connector, meanwhile, remains a classic and trusted standard that has been used in RC hobbyist circles for years. Having an adapter that seamlessly connects these two standards means you're never limited by connector incompatibility when you're out at the flying field, running track, or water's edge.

RC enthusiasts in the UK will appreciate the practical value of this charge lead, which eliminates the need to purchase multiple chargers or carry different charging solutions for different models. Whether you're a seasoned competitor, a weekend basher, or just discovering the world of RC for the first time, this adapter is an affordable and sensible addition to your RC toolkit that will save time, money, and frustration.

Key Features

  • XT60 to DNS Connector Compatibility — This charge lead provides seamless connectivity between XT60-equipped batteries and DNS-equipped chargers, allowing you to use your existing charger infrastructure with a wider range of battery types without purchasing additional charging equipment.
  • Reliable Connector Design — The XT60 connector is engineered to handle high current loads with minimal voltage drop, whilst the DNS connector provides proven durability and secure mating, ensuring safe and efficient power transfer during charging cycles.
  • Quality Construction — Manufactured by Logic RC, a respected supplier within the UK RC community, this charge lead is built to exacting standards and designed to withstand repeated use in demanding RC applications.
  • Versatile Application — This adapter works with any RC vehicle or aircraft powered by LiPo batteries, making it suitable for RC cars, trucks, buggies, crawlers, boats, electric aircraft, helicopters, and quadcopters that use either of these connector types.
  • Compact and Portable — The charge lead is designed as a lightweight adapter that takes up minimal space in your RC kit bag, field box, or workbench, making it easy to carry between locations and store with your other RC accessories.
  • Cost-Effective Solution — By enabling cross-compatibility between XT60 and DNS battery systems, this adapter eliminates the need to invest in multiple chargers, representing excellent value for money for the recreational and competitive RC enthusiast.

Technical Performance

The LOGIC Charge Lead XT60~DNS is engineered to provide reliable power transfer between two industry-standard connector types that have become ubiquitous in modern RC hobby applications. The XT60 connector on one end features a gold-plated contact design that minimises resistance and heat generation, critical factors when charging high-capacity LiPo batteries that demand stable current flow. The DNS connector on the opposite end maintains the classic connector specification that has proven itself across countless RC models over many years of use in the hobby. This charge lead facilitates safe, efficient charging for any LiPo battery configuration, whether you're using 2S (7.4V), 3S (11.1V), 4S (14.8V), 5S (18.5V), 6S (22.2V), or other LiPo cell count combinations. The adapter is designed to work with standard RC battery chargers that feature either XT60 or DNS input sockets, making it compatible with the majority of charging solutions used by RC hobbyists across the United Kingdom. Users can confidently rely on this charge lead to maintain the integrity of their battery charging systems whilst switching between different connector standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is an XT60 to DNS charge lead used for? — This charge lead allows you to connect LiPo batteries equipped with XT60 connectors to chargers that have DNS connector inputs, or vice versa. It solves connector incompatibility issues, eliminating the need to own multiple chargers for different battery types. This is particularly useful for RC car UK enthusiasts and aircraft flyers who own several models with different connector standards.
  • Can I use this adapter with any LiPo battery? — Yes, this charge lead works with any LiPo battery that has either an XT60 or DNS connector, regardless of cell count (2S, 3S, 4S, 5S, 6S, etc.). It is equally suitable for RC cars, trucks, buggies, boats, electric aircraft, and quadcopters.
  • Is this charge lead suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. Beginners entering the RC hobby will find this adapter extremely useful because it removes connector incompatibility as a barrier to charging their batteries. Rather than being confused by having two different connector types on different models, this simple adapter ensures all batteries can be charged using a single charger unit.
  • What is the difference between XT60 and DNS connectors? — The XT60 connector is a more modern design featuring gold-plated contacts and a compact, secure mating mechanism, whilst the DNS connector is a classic design that has been used in RC applications for many years. Both are rated for high current applications, but the XT60 is increasingly becoming the standard on modern brushless RC setups due to its superior contact design and lower resistance characteristics.
  • Do I need any special knowledge to use this charge lead? — No, simply plug one end into your battery and the other end into your charger. Ensure your charger is set to the correct battery type (LiPo) and cell count before charging, and always follow standard LiPo battery safety procedures.
  • Will this charge lead damage my batteries? — No, when used correctly with a compatible charger set to the appropriate settings for your battery, this charge lead will not damage your batteries. The XT60 and DNS connectors are both industry-standard designs with excellent safety records in the RC community.
