Overview
The ARRMA Shock Springs 70mm 1.34N/mm (7.65lb/in) are precision-engineered suspension components designed to fine-tune the handling characteristics of your RC vehicle in seconds. This pair of high-quality shock springs is essential for anyone serious about optimising their 1/10 scale RC car UK setup, whether you're running an ARRMA Kraton or Outcast 4S model. These springs deliver consistent performance and allow you to adjust your vehicle's ride height, stiffness and overall handling dynamics without requiring complex modifications or professional setup knowledge.
Shock spring selection is one of the most effective ways to dial in your RC model's performance on different terrain and track conditions. Whether you're tackling loose dirt, smooth asphalt, or mixed surfaces, having the right spring rate makes a significant difference to traction, stability and cornering performance. The ARRMA Shock Springs featured here are manufactured to exacting standards, ensuring that both springs in the pair deliver identical performance characteristics so your vehicle maintains balanced handling across all four corners.
For hobbyists, weekend bashers, and competitive racers alike, these suspension upgrades represent a cost-effective way to unlock the full potential of your ready to run RC model. The 70mm length and 1.34N/mm rate make these springs ideal for medium to high-speed driving where you need a responsive suspension that absorbs bumps without excessive body roll. If you're looking to improve your RC car setup without replacing the entire shock assembly, these springs are exactly what you need.
Key Features
- Precision Manufactured Spring Steel — These shock springs are manufactured from high-quality spring steel using precision techniques that ensure consistent performance across both springs in the pair. Spring steel construction guarantees excellent fatigue resistance and long-lasting durability, meaning your investment will withstand hundreds of hours of use without degrading or losing tension.
- 70mm Length — The 70mm overall length is engineered to fit perfectly into ARRMA 1/10 scale shock absorber bodies, specifically designed for the Kraton 4S and Outcast 4S models. This length provides the optimal compression travel and ride height characteristics that ARRMA's engineers have specified for these vehicles, ensuring compatibility and predictable handling.
- 1.34N/mm Spring Rate (7.65lb/in) — Measured in both metric (Newton per millimetre) and imperial (pounds per inch) units, this spring rate sits in the medium-stiff range, making it suitable for both smooth tracks and rough terrain. A stiffer spring rate reduces body roll and squat, giving you sharper turn-in response and more responsive handling feedback through your remote control.
- Supplied as a Pair — Each package contains two shock springs, so you have matched springs for both sides of your vehicle. Having a pair ensures balanced suspension geometry and consistent handling from left to right, which is critical for predictable cornering and straight-line stability.
- Bolt-On Installation — These springs replace the existing springs in your shock absorbers without requiring any modification to other suspension components. Installation takes just minutes with basic tools, making it an ideal upgrade for anyone wanting to experiment with suspension tuning without major disassembly.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Shock Springs deliver professional-grade suspension performance through their precision-engineered construction and carefully specified spring rate. At 1.34N/mm (7.65lb/in), this spring rate provides a balance between bump absorption and body control that works well across a variety of driving conditions. The metric specification (Newtons per millimetre) is the standard used by engineers worldwide, whilst the imperial rating (pounds per inch) provides an alternative reference point that many UK enthusiasts find intuitive. The 70mm length has been specifically engineered to work with ARRMA's shock absorber designs, providing the correct compression range and ride height that the manufacturer has determined delivers optimal performance. These springs are manufactured from high-grade spring steel that maintains its properties across thousands of compression cycles, ensuring consistent performance session after session. The material composition resists fatigue cracking and permanent deformation, which means the springs won't gradually lose their stiffness over time as cheaper alternatives often do. For drivers running brushless RC models at higher speeds, having reliable, consistent suspension components becomes increasingly important, as the forces acting on the springs are greater and more frequent. This is particularly relevant if you're operating a 4S LiPo-powered brushless truck like the Kraton or Outcast, where higher speeds and more aggressive driving naturally place greater demands on suspension components. The paired construction ensures that both springs have identical characteristics, preventing the handling imbalance that can occur when springs have slightly different rates due to manufacturing variation.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which ARRMA models are these shock springs compatible with? — These shock springs are designed as standard parts for the ARRMA 1/10 Kraton 4S 4X4 RTR Brushless Speed Truck and the ARRMA 1/10 Outcast 4S 4X4 RTR Brushless Stunt Truck. They are listed as standard parts for both the V2 versions of these models, including the C-ARA4408V2T4, C-ARA4408V2T3, C-ARA4410V2T4 and C-ARA4410V2T3 variants.
- How do I know if I need different spring rates for my driving style? — Spring rate selection depends on your driving conditions and personal preference. The 1.34N/mm rate provided here is considered medium-stiff and suits most general-purpose driving. If you find your vehicle is too bouncy and soft, you may want stiffer springs; conversely, if it feels too harsh and rigid, softer springs might suit you better. ARRMA produces springs in alternative rates, allowing you to experiment and find your ideal setup.
- Can I install these springs myself, or do I need professional help? — Installation is straightforward and can be completed by anyone with basic mechanical skills and standard RC tools. You simply remove your shock absorber, decompress the existing spring, install the new ARRMA spring, and reassemble. The process typically takes minutes per shock, making it an ideal DIY upgrade that doesn't require sending your model away for service.
- What is the difference between 1.34N/mm and other spring rates available for my ARRMA? — ARRMA manufactures shock springs in multiple rates measured in N/mm. A lower N/mm rating (softer spring) provides more compliance and comfort over bumps but allows more body roll; a higher N/mm rating (stiffer spring) reduces body roll and provides more responsive handling but transmits more impact to the chassis. The 1.34N/mm rate sits in the middle of the range, making it versatile for different driving conditions.
- Are these genuine ARRMA parts or aftermarket alternatives? — These are genuine ARRMA parts manufactured to OEM specifications. The part number Z-ARA330760 is the authentic ARRMA designation, and these springs are listed as standard parts for qualifying models. Using genuine parts ensures perfect compatibility and maintains your vehicle's warranty status.
- How often should I replace my shock springs? — Springs don't require routine replacement unless damaged. However, if you notice your vehicle's ride height increasing noticeably or the springs becoming less responsive over time, this may indicate material fatigue. For high-use racing scenarios, many competitors replace springs periodically as preventive maintenance to ensure consistent performance.
