Overview
The FTX Steering Linkage Ball End (6) pack is an essential replacement spare part for RC car enthusiasts in the UK who own FTX 1/10th scale models. These precision-engineered ball ends are crucial suspension components that connect your steering linkages to the steering bell crank and suspension geometry, allowing smooth and responsive steering inputs during high-speed driving and tight cornering manoeuvres. Whether you're a seasoned RC car UK competitor or a weekend basher pushing your brushless RC buggy to its limits, steering linkage ball ends are wear items that eventually require replacement after extensive use, impacts or aggressive driving. This pack of six replacement ball ends ensures you have spares on hand and means you can keep your RC off-road buggy, truck or street drift car performing at peak efficiency without long downtime waiting for parts to arrive.
FTX has established itself as a respected manufacturer of ready-to-run RC cars and accessories, with a strong reputation for producing durable components at competitive prices. The FTX Steering Linkage Ball End is specifically designed for maximum compatibility across multiple popular 1/10th scale models including the FTX Vantage, FTX Carnage, FTX Banzai and FTX Zorro, making this a versatile spare part that should be in every serious RC enthusiast's spares box. These ball ends are manufactured to exacting standards to ensure consistent performance and reliability, helping you maintain the precise steering response your RC car demands on rough terrain or smooth tracks. If you're running a brushless electric RC car or any of the compatible FTX models, having a selection of quality replacement ball ends prevents frustrating delays and keeps your vehicle race-ready.
The humble ball end might seem like a simple component, but it plays a vital role in your RC car's overall handling characteristics and steering precision. Worn or damaged ball ends can introduce excessive play into your steering linkage, leading to unpredictable steering response and poor handling performance. By maintaining a supply of quality replacement parts like these FTX ball ends, you're investing in consistent, predictable performance and extending the operational life of your RC vehicle. These parts are ideal for competitive drivers who demand reliability, weekend hobbyists who want to keep their RC cars in top condition, and anyone serious about RC motoring in the UK.

Technical Performance
The FTX Steering Linkage Ball End represents the kind of attention to detail that separates quality RC components from cheap alternatives. These ball ends are engineered specifically for the suspension geometry of FTX 1/10th scale models, ensuring perfect articulation and response across the full range of steering angles your RC car experiences during aggressive cornering, high-speed circuits or technical rock crawling sections. The ball socket design provides smooth, consistent contact without flat spots or binding, which would otherwise introduce dead zones into your steering response and degrade the precision feel that competitive and serious RC drivers demand. Whether you're running a brushless electric RC car that demands immediate steering response for rapid direction changes, or pushing your vehicle to the limits on challenging terrain, these ball ends maintain the mechanical integrity of your steering linkage and preserve the handling characteristics you've tuned into your RC setup. The durable construction ensures these components resist wear from continuous movement, vibration from rough terrain, and the occasional impact from crashes or obstacles. Regular replacement of worn ball ends is essential maintenance that keeps your RC car performing consistently and prevents more serious damage to your steering system. FTX has refined their manufacturing processes to deliver components that meet the demands of competitive RC driving whilst remaining affordable for hobbyists and weekend bashers alike.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which FTX RC cars are compatible with these steering linkage ball ends? — The FTX6502 steering linkage ball ends are specifically designed for the FTX Vantage, FTX Carnage, FTX Banzai and FTX Zorro models. These models span different vehicle types and powertrains from street drift cars to off-road trucks, but all use this common ball end specification. Always verify compatibility with your specific model variant before ordering, though these ball ends will fit all Vantage, Carnage, Banzai and Zorro configurations including brushed and brushless versions.
- How often should I replace my RC car's steering linkage ball ends? — Ball ends are wear items that deteriorate with use. You should inspect them regularly for looseness, cracks or visible wear, and replace them if you notice any play in the steering linkage, unpredictable steering response, or physical damage. Frequent drivers and competitive racers may need replacements every few months, whilst casual hobbyists might extend this to six months or longer depending on driving intensity and conditions.
- Why does my RC car steering feel sloppy after a crash? — Impact damage can bend or loosen steering ball ends, introducing excessive play into your steering linkage and creating the characteristic loose, unresponsive feel. If your steering becomes imprecise after crashes or rough use, damaged ball ends are a likely culprit. Replacing them with a fresh set from this pack will restore the tight, responsive steering your RC car should have.
- How do I install these FTX steering linkage ball ends? — Installation requires removing your old ball ends from the steering linkages, which typically involves unthreading them or removing retaining clips depending on your specific model. Press or thread the new FTX6502 ball ends into place ensuring they're seated firmly, then reconnect your steering linkages. The exact process varies by model, so consult your FTX car's manual for detailed instructions specific to your vehicle.
- Are these suitable for both electric and nitro FTX models? — Yes, these steering linkage ball ends are compatible with both brushless electric and nitro-powered FTX Vantage, Carnage, Banzai and Zorro models. The steering geometry is identical across powertrain types, so one set of ball ends works universally across these model ranges regardless of whether you're running electric or fuel-powered variants.
- What makes FTX steering ball ends better than generic alternatives? — FTX steering ball ends are engineered specifically for FTX vehicles with precise tolerances and geometries that match your car's steering system perfectly. Generic alternatives may fit loosely or have different contact angles, introducing play and inconsistency into your steering response. OEM FTX parts ensure your steering performs exactly as your car's engineers intended.
