Overview

The TLR Silicone Diff Fluid 6000CS is a premium differential fluid designed specifically for RC racing vehicles where precise handling characteristics and consistent performance are essential. Whether you're competing in club races across the UK, practising at your local track, or preparing your RC buggy or truggy for competitive events, selecting the correct differential fluid is crucial to achieving optimal performance and predictable handling dynamics. Team Losi Racing's silicone diff fluids are engineered by experienced RC racing professionals who understand exactly what competition-level RC cars need to perform at their best.

This 6000 centistoke (CS) viscosity fluid represents a mid-range option within TLR's comprehensive differential fluid range, making it suitable for a wide variety of RC racing applications and track conditions. The silicone formulation ensures stable performance across different temperatures and driving intensities, giving you confidence that your differential will behave consistently whether you're running practice laps or competing in a race meeting. For RC enthusiasts in the UK looking to fine-tune their vehicle's handling characteristics, the TLR Silicone Diff Fluid 6000CS offers a straightforward way to dial in your setup and improve overall performance on the track.

Team Losi Racing (TLR) is recognised worldwide as a leading manufacturer of high-quality RC racing accessories, tools, and performance fluids. With decades of racing heritage and a commitment to precision engineering, TLR products are trusted by competitive racers and weekend enthusiasts alike. This differential fluid is part of TLR's extensive range of oils and fluids specifically developed to help you optimise your RC racing vehicle and maintain consistent performance throughout your racing season.

Key Features

  • 6000 Centistoke Viscosity Rating — The 6000CS rating provides a balanced viscosity that offers moderate resistance to differential locking, making it suitable for a wide range of track conditions and driving styles, from smooth tarmac circuits to looser carpet or dirt surfaces where variable traction demands a versatile differential setup.
  • Premium Silicone Formulation — Silicone-based fluids maintain their viscosity characteristics more consistently across temperature variations compared to mineral oils, meaning your differential will perform predictably whether you're racing during warm summer months or cooler winter conditions at UK tracks.
  • Team Losi Racing Engineering — Developed by TLR's team of experienced engineers and racing professionals, this fluid incorporates years of racing knowledge and real-world testing to deliver performance that meets the demands of competitive RC racing.
  • Compatibility with TLR Vehicles — This fluid is specifically formulated to work with Team Losi Racing RC buggies, truggies, and other competition vehicles that utilise standard differential mechanisms, ensuring optimal compatibility and performance characteristics.
  • Precise Handling Control — By selecting the appropriate viscosity differential fluid, you gain the ability to fine-tune how your vehicle's differential responds to cornering, acceleration, and braking, directly influencing your lap times and overall handling characteristics on the track.

Technical Performance

The TLR Silicone Diff Fluid 6000CS operates as a dedicated differential fluid specifically engineered for RC racing applications where differential performance directly impacts vehicle handling and competitive lap times. The 6000 centistoke viscosity rating positions this fluid in the mid-range of TLR's differential fluid lineup, offering balanced characteristics suitable for diverse track conditions and racing disciplines. Silicone-based formulations provide superior temperature stability compared to conventional mineral oils, ensuring that the fluid maintains consistent viscosity whether your RC car is running in cool conditions or generating heat during intense racing sessions. The fluid's design allows for smooth differential locking behaviour, which affects how your vehicle responds during cornering, acceleration out of corners, and weight transfer during braking events. When paired with properly maintained differential components, this fluid helps deliver responsive yet predictable handling that enables you to push your RC racing vehicle to its performance limits whilst maintaining control throughout a race meeting. The fluid is supplied in a convenient quantity suitable for differential service and maintenance, allowing you to establish your preferred differential setup and maintain it throughout your racing season. Whether you're running your RC buggy or truggy at a dedicated RC racing track in the UK or at home, the TLR Silicone Diff Fluid 6000CS provides the performance consistency that competitive and recreational racers expect from Team Losi Racing products.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What viscosity rating should I choose for my RC car? — Team Losi Racing offers differential fluids in multiple viscosity ratings, with 6000CS representing a mid-range option. Lower viscosity fluids (such as 3000CS or 4000CS) reduce differential locking and are suitable for vehicles needing more slip and faster responses, whilst higher viscosity fluids (such as 80000CS) increase locking and are preferred for maximum traction control on loose surfaces. Your choice depends on your specific vehicle, track conditions, and desired handling characteristics. Many racers experiment with different viscosity ratings to find the setup that delivers the best lap times for their particular style and track preference.
  • Is silicone diff fluid better than mineral oil? — Silicone-based differential fluids like the TLR 6000CS offer superior temperature stability compared to mineral oils, maintaining their viscosity characteristics more consistently across temperature variations. This consistency means your differential will behave predictably in different ambient temperatures and under varying heat loads during racing, making silicone formulations the preferred choice for competitive RC racing where consistency and precision matter.
  • How often should I change my differential fluid? — Differential fluid should be checked regularly during the racing season and changed if it becomes contaminated, discoloured, or loses its performance characteristics. As part of regular RC vehicle maintenance, many racers refresh their differential fluid before major race meetings or at the start of a new racing season to ensure optimal performance. Check your specific vehicle's maintenance guide for detailed recommendations.
  • What is the difference between 6000CS and other TLR viscosity ratings? — TLR produces differential fluids in several viscosity grades. The 3000CS rating is lighter and provides more differential slip, the 4000CS offers slightly more resistance, the 6000CS sits in the middle offering balanced characteristics, and the 80000CS is much heavier for maximum locking and traction control. Your choice affects how your vehicle corners, accelerates, and responds to throttle input, making viscosity selection an important part of chassis tuning for competitive RC racing.
