Overview
TLR Silicone Shock Oil is an essential pit accessory for serious RC racers and enthusiasts who demand the highest quality maintenance products for their vehicles. Manufactured by Team Losi Racing, this premium shock oil is specifically formulated to keep your RC suspension performing at its absolute best, whether you're competing at the track or enjoying weekend bashing sessions with your RC car UK. The 32.5WT viscosity rating with 379CST specification ensures consistent damping characteristics across a wide range of driving conditions, making it suitable for both buggy and truggy platforms that demand precision engineering.
As an official Team Losi Racing pit accessory, this silicone shock oil represents the same exacting standards and quality that TLR Factory Team drivers rely upon to maintain their competition-winning vehicles. Every bottle is manufactured to perform reliably in the demanding environment of RC racing, where suspension tuning can mean the difference between winning and second place. When you choose genuine TLR shock oil, you're choosing a product that has been tested and proven by the most successful drivers in the sport. This 4oz bottle provides adequate quantity for multiple shock refills and adjustments, making it an economical choice for regular maintenance of your brushless RC buggy or nitro-powered RC truggy.
Whether you're a seasoned competitor looking to fine-tune your suspension setup or a dedicated hobbyist who takes pride in proper vehicle maintenance, TLR Silicone Shock Oil belongs in your pit bench alongside other essential RC racing accessories. The consistency and reliability of this product means you can focus on driving performance rather than worrying about shock fluid degradation or unpredictable damping behaviour during critical moments in your race.
Key Features
- 32.5WT Viscosity Rating — The 32.5-weight specification provides the precise damping characteristics that RC racing demands, ensuring your suspension responds predictably and maintains consistent performance throughout your entire race day or practice session.
- 379CST Kinematic Viscosity — This technical specification indicates the oil's flow characteristics at standard temperature conditions, guaranteeing that shock damping remains stable whether you're driving in cool morning conditions or warmer afternoon temperatures at the track.
- Genuine Team Losi Racing Manufacturing — As an official TLR product, this shock oil meets the same rigorous quality standards that go into every Team Losi Racing RC buggy and truggy, ensuring compatibility and performance with all TLR suspension systems.
- 4oz Bottle Size — The convenient 4oz container provides sufficient quantity for multiple shock refills and adjustments, making it practical for maintaining your RC vehicle collection without excessive waste or storage concerns.
- Premium Silicone Formulation — Silicone-based shock oil offers superior stability and consistency compared to standard oils, with less tendency to degrade under the intense forces and temperature variations experienced during RC racing and bashing.
- Professional Pit Accessory — This is the same type of shock oil you'll find on the pit benches of TLR Factory Team drivers and serious competitors throughout the UK RC racing community, representing proven reliability and performance.
- Essential Maintenance Product — Proper shock oil maintenance is critical for maintaining consistent handling characteristics, ensuring your RC car UK continues to perform at its best across multiple race meetings or casual driving sessions.
Technical Performance
TLR Silicone Shock Oil has been engineered with precision to meet the exacting demands of competitive RC racing and serious hobbyist driving. The 32.5WT viscosity classification combined with the 379CST kinematic viscosity specification creates a fluid that performs consistently across the temperature ranges typically encountered at RC racing events and practice sessions throughout the UK. This silicone-based formulation provides superior damping stability compared to conventional shock oils, maintaining its characteristics even under the intense forces generated by high-speed turns, jumps, and aggressive driving manoeuvres. The oil's chemical composition resists degradation from the extreme pressures and temperatures that develop inside RC shock absorbers during competition use, ensuring that your suspension tuning remains stable lap after lap. Whether you're running a brushless 1/10 scale buggy or a larger scale nitro-powered RC truggy, this shock oil delivers the consistent performance that separates winning setups from mediocre ones. The premium silicone formulation also provides excellent compatibility with standard RC shock seals and internal components, minimising the risk of leakage or seal degradation that can compromise suspension performance and create safety issues on the track.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the correct shock oil viscosity for my RC buggy or truggy? — The 32.5WT viscosity of this TLR product is a popular mid-range specification suitable for many RC buggies and truggies, particularly for drivers who want balanced damping characteristics and good all-around performance. However, lighter oils (such as 25WT) provide softer damping and are preferred on bumpy tracks or by drivers seeking more aggressive suspension movement, whilst heavier oils (such as 40WT or 50WT) provide stiffer damping for smoother tracks or drivers who prefer a more controlled, stable feel. Always consult your specific RC vehicle's manual or manufacturer recommendations to ensure you're using the correct viscosity for your particular model.
- Why is silicone shock oil better than standard oil for RC cars? — Silicone-based formulations like this TLR product offer superior stability and consistency compared to conventional oils, resisting degradation from the extreme pressures and temperatures that develop inside RC shock absorbers. This means your suspension tuning remains stable across your entire race day rather than changing as the oil heats up or experiences stress from aggressive driving.
- How often should I change my RC shock oil? — For competitive racing, many drivers refresh their shock oil every few race meetings or after 5-10 hours of driving time to ensure consistent performance. For casual weekend bashing with your RC car UK, you may only need to refresh shock oil once or twice per season unless you notice performance degradation or visible oil discolouration.
- Will this TLR shock oil work in all RC vehicles? — This product is compatible with any RC buggy, truggy, or other vehicle that uses damper-style shock absorbers with standard seals. However, always verify that the 32.5WT viscosity is appropriate for your specific vehicle, as some models may require different weights for optimal performance.
- How much shock oil do I need for my RC vehicle? — Typical RC buggies and truggies require approximately 8-12ml of shock oil per shock absorber, so a 4oz bottle provides sufficient quantity for multiple refills and tuning adjustments across several shock assemblies.
