Overview

The Team Losi Racing TLR Silicone Shock Oil in 100WT viscosity is an essential maintenance fluid for serious RC enthusiasts and competitive racers in the UK. This premium silicone-based shock oil is specifically formulated to provide consistent damping performance in high-performance RC cars, trucks, and buggies. Whether you're fine-tuning your 1/10 scale buggy for track racing or adjusting suspension geometry on your RC monster truck, having the correct shock oil viscosity is crucial for achieving optimal handling characteristics and lap times.

Shock oil selection is one of the most overlooked yet fundamentally important aspects of RC car setup. The 100WT rating in this Team Losi Racing product indicates a specific viscosity designed for heavier damping applications where you need more resistance in your suspension. This thicker oil creates additional resistance to compression and rebound, making it ideal for high-speed circuits, rough terrain, or setups that require a more controlled suspension response. RC drivers across the UK who compete in national and regional championships rely on Team Losi Racing fluids because they deliver predictable, repeatable performance lap after lap.

Available in a convenient 2oz bottle, this shock oil is the ideal size for maintenance, tuning adjustments, and experimentation with different viscosity ratings to dial in your perfect setup. Team Losi Racing is recognised as one of the leading manufacturers of premium RC lubricants and fluids, and this product represents their commitment to providing racers with the professional-grade supplies they need to stay competitive.

Key Features

  • 100WT Viscosity Rating — The 100WT specification indicates this is a heavier shock oil suitable for applications requiring greater damping resistance, allowing you to fine-tune suspension response for various track conditions and driving styles across the UK RC racing scene.
  • 1325 Centistoke (CST) Viscosity — This precise viscosity measurement of 1325CST provides the exact flow characteristics needed for consistent shock performance, ensuring your RC car delivers predictable handling whether you're driving on asphalt circuits, dirt tracks, or mixed terrain courses.
  • Silicone-Based Formula — Silicone shock oils offer superior consistency and thermal stability compared to mineral oils, maintaining their viscosity across a wider temperature range so your suspension performs reliably whether you're racing on a cold morning in Scotland or a warm afternoon in the Midlands.
  • Professional Grade Quality — Formulated to Team Losi Racing's exacting standards, this shock oil is trusted by competitive RC drivers and professional teams who demand premium fluids for their high-performance vehicles.
  • 2oz Convenient Bottle — The 2oz size is perfect for shock refills, making adjustments to suspension geometry, or experimenting with different viscosity ratings to optimise your RC car's performance without requiring excessive quantities of product.
  • Compatible with Team Losi Racing Vehicles — Engineered specifically for Team Losi Racing RC cars and trucks, this shock oil ensures optimal compatibility and performance with TLR suspension systems and shock absorbers across their full range of vehicles.

Technical Performance

The TLR Silicone Shock Oil 100WT represents the pinnacle of RC shock fluid engineering. At 1325 centistokes, this viscosity sits at the heavier end of the Team Losi Racing shock oil spectrum, making it suitable for drivers who need maximum damping control and resistance to suspension movement. The silicone-based formulation ensures that the oil maintains consistent properties across varying temperatures and driving conditions, which is essential for competitive RC racing in the United Kingdom where weather conditions can change dramatically throughout the day. Unlike cheaper mineral-based alternatives, silicone shock oils resist breakdown under the extreme conditions experienced in RC motorsport, where shocks compress and decompress hundreds of times per minute during racing. The precise 1325CST rating provides the exact balance of flow and resistance needed for fine-tuning suspension characteristics, allowing experienced racers to dial in their vehicles for maximum grip, stability, and cornering precision. This product is part of Team Losi Racing's comprehensive range of shock oils spanning from lighter 294CST formulations through to this heavy 1325CST option, giving serious competitors the flexibility to perfectly match their suspension setup to track conditions, vehicle geometry, and driving preferences.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does 100WT shock oil viscosity mean for my RC car? — The 100WT rating indicates this is a heavier shock oil formulation that provides greater resistance to suspension movement. This means your shocks will compress and rebound more slowly, resulting in a more controlled, stable suspension feel. This viscosity is ideal if you're experiencing excessive suspension bounce, need more damping control on high-speed circuits, or are tuning a setup that benefits from a stiffer suspension response. Team Losi Racing offers multiple viscosity ratings specifically so drivers can match the oil to their track conditions and driving style.
  • What is the difference between CST and WT measurements for shock oil? — Both measurements describe viscosity but in different ways. WT (weight) is the traditional rating system, while CST (centistokes) is the modern metric measurement of kinematic viscosity. For this product, the 100WT rating equates to 1325CST. The CST measurement is often more precise for technical specifications, whilst WT is commonly used in traditional RC racing communities across the UK.
  • Which Team Losi Racing vehicles use 100WT shock oil? — The 100WT formulation is available as part of Team Losi Racing's complete shock oil range, allowing drivers to select the viscosity that best suits their specific vehicle type and racing requirements. Lighter vehicles, high-speed circuit racing, or setups requiring maximum responsiveness might use lighter viscosities like 27.5WT or 37.5WT, whilst heavier applications benefit from this 100WT option.
  • How often should I change my RC shock oil? — Shock oil should be inspected regularly during maintenance routines and replaced if it becomes contaminated with dirt, moisture, or debris. Many competitive RC drivers change their shock oil every few months during heavy racing seasons to maintain optimal suspension performance. The 2oz size of this product makes it convenient to refresh your shock fluid during regular maintenance intervals.
  • Can I mix different viscosity shock oils in the same vehicle? — It is generally recommended to use consistent viscosity across all four shocks for predictable and balanced suspension geometry. However, some advanced racers might experiment with different viscosities front and rear to fine-tune handling characteristics. Always consult your vehicle manual and test thoroughly before mixing viscosities in competition.
  • Is silicone shock oil better than mineral oil for RC cars? — Silicone-based shock oils like this Team Losi Racing product offer superior thermal stability and consistency across temperature ranges, making them ideal for serious RC racing in variable UK weather conditions. Silicone oils maintain their viscosity better than mineral oils under the extreme operating conditions experienced in RC motorsport, where suspension components operate at high frequencies throughout a race.
